- PanterA Hot N Heavy Music Video! This is the best your gonna get until it gets put on DVD (if ever). Gone are the annoying hiccups and freezing. The audio is better synched now as well! Enjoy!
Both eras of Pantera are awesome
I dunno. One was awesome. The other was very gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that if that's your thing. So let your freak flag fly my brutha. I just like music for hetero people.
Agreed
@@CrookedEyeSniper so you Don't like Judas Priest.
Exactly!
Vinnie Paul looks like a mechanic dressing up as an 80’s rocker for Halloween 😂
Wish they would re-release this albums. It is part of who they are
Rex said that these records will never see the light of day
Dime & Vinnie’s playing was great even then, but I kinda get why Rex said they didn’t want to…the production isn’t the best and it does sound very much “of it’s time!”
Don’t get me wrong, Crue, KISS, Ratt etc were glam but they had better songs in that genre
Glam-Tera are good but there was something missing
Couple of years later tho!
@@martindoll5884you mean Rex Rocker? Lmao
I can get why they wouldn't though. Lots of successful artists have a ton of recorded material of what they were doing before they really figured out their sound and would be embarrassed if other people heard it. The difference here though is that some of that early Pantera stuff is still pretty solid if you like classic heavy metal. Shit, I still throw on Power Metal every now and then.
Probably won't happen until what's left of Pantera is dead and gone.
Was that dude ever BAD at guitar? Easily one of the best shredders of the 90s. I like how he kept his flashy 80s glam solos even in an era where they had fallen out of practice.
When he was younger he was kicked out of local guitar competitions and made a judge because he kept winning
Shame that they didnt became famous in their glam era they were pretty good glam band.
Dime was on fire back in 84!
This is hard rock / heavy metal, not glam. And yes, these songs are actually pretty good.
@@neonknight-1522 That spandex and bitch teased hair disagrees my friend! Those lyrics too, top tier cheez n sleez that only a drunken Stephen Pearcy could love. Pure mullet rawkk, baby!
When Phil joined was really when they kicked off
@@FD-em3jm you fuckin summed it up perfectly, old-school Pantera has that charm
All respect to the origins of the best metal band in creation! I also wish they would remaster and rerelease these old tunes!
I would listen each Saturday night in homage to the greatness of Pantera! SO glad they got a new lead singer! :)
Even if it’s best of the Hair era
Pantera 80's rules💙💙💙
"Dont laugh, mister, your daughter will be in here" LMAO
You can tell in this vid that Dime was inspired by Eddie Van Halen! Thank you both to the late, great guitar gods of our time RIP Dime & EVH
EVH and Ace Frehley were his two biggest influences.
Yep, that solo sounded like it could have been on VH1
That's why he was buried with one of EHV's most famous guitars.
It doesn't seem fair how naturally talented dime was.
You can tell Van Halen influenced Dime in this song's solos!!
Kinda has a Ratt sound at times, too.
Deff Leppard also here
@@yngvebalmsteen9174 well, ratt completely copied Van Halen
I was thinking the same thing.
@@sergehaveliayeah, High and Dry era!
"I Am The Night" is my fave Pantera album and I'm proud to say it.
Proud to be loud!!
Mine too!
@@COIXTRecords that’s from power metal lmao
@@liamsagucio61 Sorry. "Daughters of the Queen" just wouldn't have expressed the right sentiment.
Better than Vulgar Display of Power?
The Ultimate Warrior approves this!
By the way The Ultimate Warrior theme song is better then this
Not bad. I never knew "glam" Pantera existed. I'm glad I came across it.
It vaguely reminds me of a cross between Motley Cruë and early Anthrax.
Old Pantera is THE best party music ever. Glaze rules! RIP Dime.
I was born in 1984 and i still remember that the 80's had the best cartoons and the best music its a shame all they've got today mind numbing shit that'll rot your brain! RIP Dime!
tons of Eddie Van Halen influence in that solo, and with Dime's classic pinch harmonics
"Pantera will fix in the mix" LMAO
This screams 1985 opening theme to a teen movie
You can tell they had a blast making this video
Then they looked back after what they would become and were like what the hell were we thinking in the 80's
I'd be surprised if the car in the video still exists somewhere.
Well people did buy Cousin Eddie's mobile home, so I would not be too surprised if it did somewhere. What an incredible find that would be!
They used drive in a VW rabbit in the mid 80s
I bet it is still parked at their Dads house
By 'still exist', you mean probably a heap of metal in some Fort Worth junkyard ;). Id still like to see it though, lol.
@@roaddog7527 In Texas, anyway, we called em 'slug bugs'. And then proceeded to frog our friend on the shoulder after we said "slug bug" (and whatever color it was lol).
My fav. pantera song, you can tell evh was one of dimes influcences just by the solo, great playing, Rip Dime
They are two different bands. But I like the original lineup. Wow.
They had everything to become a successful hair metal band, plus they look like they really having a good time while filming this
This is heavy metal! Hot and Heavy Rules
Lot of Van Halen influence in that solo.
This song rules!!! This is awesome, a great Glam Metal song. It should be a classic.
How many Panteras can you fit in a VW Beetle?
ONE BROTHER BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE!
Even as a glam band, Pantera were heavy as balls
Well they werent “poison”
Or “cinderella” type of glam metal but a bit heavier…motley crue, wasp
Long live retro Pantera
I love how people called them glam... I think they were the Texas version of Judas Priest back then....it was so good!
glam Pantera actually kicked major ass in 80's :D and in 90's they ruled even with a huge twist in music playing style :D
they owned glam & thrash/heavy scene :D
R.I.P Dime ;) you'll be missed forever in world of metal and in hearts of true fans \m/
I produced this and have the master...but I promised not to air it once they got Phil. I will keep that promise. The girl, Maria Stirling, was the wife of my best friend and he was in the parking lot with 9mm, really pissed about this. I forget the guys name who owned the VW but he got busted for public nuisance driving home that night. Darrel was a good guy.
Ted Pearce Wait! It states that Jerry Abbott produced this album. I read Rex's book and I don't recall him mentioning you at a
With that said, I'm not denying your involvement because I do know the band tried to pretend these albums never happened to keep with their tough image in the 1990s. Personally, I love hearing these more unknown sides of the stories and I'd LOVE to hear more things like this. However, I understand the importance of a promise with several prominent musicians I've met myself.
Mandilore Ok, I'm sorry, you produced the VIDEO! My apologies. I misunderstood. Disregard my first sentence.
Mandilore I didn't produce the music...I did produce the video.
Ted Pearce That's why I apologized almost immediately after. I misunderstood the first time. I realized it after I posted it.
Ted Pearce why would you let your best friends wife do some shit that would piss him off that bad? garbage
Es increíble ver a. Pantera como ha evolucionado desde que era. Glamers y con la llegada de. Phil. Anselmo se convierta en lo más pesado del mundo
Y casi nadie olvido al pantera glam a pesar de su influencia musical estos weyes sabían desde el principio que el heavy metal!!! Era lo suyo siempre
I pray to anything that's holy this never gets taken down.
Early pantera is amazing. NUFF SAID!
Man it's crazy that they went from this to Far Beyond Driven.
Yeah lol, compare Hot n Heavy to Slaughtered, doesn't even sound like the same band
Dime was soooooo fucking awesome! God wanted him to play up there and now he rocks in heaven!
No. A psychic maniac murdered him.
4:03 If I were to paint my truck I'd put that sticker on the back bumper to prevent laughing
"Take a look at my icecream cone baby. Go ahead. Take a lick.
Can't wait to take you home. Beat you with my stick! Look out!"
Best lyrics ever? Discuss:
it just might be haha
what's to discuss?
Yes
Fans of the mechanix?
"Take a look at my icecream cone baby. Go ahead. Take a lick.
Can't wait to take you home. Beat you with my dick! Look out!"
Lol my mom grew up with them and dated tarry and Rex back then
that's cool
Both of them? At the same time?
straight up van halen sound. awesome.
Great song by Pantera!
PanterA still hadn't discovered that Texas Power Groove at this point. The electric drums don't fit here and this guy singing just sounds like every other dude in metal around this time. They had to get rid of this dude to find they're real sound. But once they did, they ruled the metal world. Proof that you gotta crawl before you can "Walk".
This is the best Pantera music video yet Rock On!!!!! Web Of Hair
Sort of a early Van Halen vibe to this. Dime was one of the best even as a teenager. Right up there with EVH, Rhoads, Vinnie Vincent and George Lynch among the 80's hard rock players. What coulda been....
What coulda been? What do you mean? Dime ended up becoming one of the greatest and most celebrated guitarists of all time. But obviously, everyone wishes he was alive longer..
Vinnie Vincent is a bit of an over shredder he just spews out shitty notes I’d replace him with Marty Friedman
Sounds more like a kiss song.
no matter wat pantera do i still fuckin love them
This better then hellyeah lol.
Long Live the Hard Roxx Cafe in Lawton, OK in the mid-to-late 80's, where you could see Pantera at least once a month, sometimes 2. FUCK, those were great days!! Never will forget burnin' with "Diamond", Rex, and Vinnie behind the Roxx while Terry Lee got blown 10 feet away!! Good times, man!
RIP Diamond Dimebag Dime Darrell
we miss you
You can hear a little Motley Crue in the riff and in the chorus the way Terry is singing. This early Pantera is not that bad it has taken me times coming back and listening to this earlier stuff to get into. I still can't seem to get into there first album Metal Magic.
Ignorance really was bliss. I wish i could go back to not knowing this existed.
I dunno man, when i first discovered this era, it just made me love 90s/2000s Pantera even more.
Pantera was always heavy. It's that incredible Dime tone!
R.I.P Dime and Vinnie
As someone who doesn't hate glam and loves "real metal" if you will, I like this Pantera as well as the CFH-onward Pantera. The singer almost sounds like the guy from Cinderella at parts.
the lyrics are hilarious and awesome
Brandon Caligula Nero I know right 😂😂😂
amen man i love them no matter what
wow dude this video really opened my eyes to how fucking awesome Pantera was in the 80s...i never thought i would like anything before phil (power metal era), but damn this was sooo radical...this video made me laugh like a maniac, not at the band but with the band...brings me back to being a teenager and just wanting to party and rock out...fuckin sick vid bro...
For those who may not know Dime and Vinnie grew up fans of 70s and 80s rock and were heavily influenced by those bands. Plus this was what was hot at the time so they went for it. IMO it sounds just as good as any other 80s rock band.
I used to play the old Pantera in my store all the Time and the look on peoples faces when they found out it was Pantera and they really enjoyed it and shocked the heck out of them. I still remember one time. A guy asked what Def Leppard it was because he’s never heard before and the look on his face when I told him that it was Pantera was priceless. I wish I had a smart phone at the time.
@@webofhair Haha I can imagine. They were a really good glam band. They made the right move to change their sound, but if you go back and listen to this stuff you'll be blown away.
Long live the Abbott brothers
What! This is Leagues ahead of its time!
Legendary
Just imagine if they were signed early on… Who knows what would’ve happened.
Amazing quality for a video like this. Seeing this, it makes me think what if they didn't recruit Phil? Would they have still changed metal music throughout the 90's? Although I'm still glad they did.
R.I.P. Brother Dime
holy shit this is hilarious
And AWESOMENESS
I remember watching this on youtube way back 2013 time was so fast i was 13 at that time haha now im 23
Originally, Uploaded when you were around five, Around three when I uploaded lower quality versions to yahoo groups.
@@webofhair wow I never thought of that haha I'm so young at that point I only started to listen to Pantera way back 2011 haha
Then got curious about early Pantera
I searched them at 2013
And found out terry was the first singer of Pantera before Phil join at 87
LOVE this song, dime looks so cool here lol, he always looks cool though
those were the days..
i remember just how it was swimming around in my fathers sack. just waiting to come out and listen to pantera:P haha
omg, the car. Gotta love these guys be it new or old stuff.
The owner of the car was arrested on the way home that day for public indecency
Solo is 🔥
This should've been in Trick Or Treat!
Watching this really depresses me...im serious...this sound was amazing the 80s was amazing...it saddens me how they beggan to hate this music
Phil Anselmo saved the band. Thanks for that.
a piece of history!! really nice this video :D
Kiss meets evh sounds great🤘
Awesome ride!
pantera (glam) < pantera (groove)
but, some song are great, including dime killer guitars solos
HEAVY METAL RULES!
groove sucks...
+tb90hm Glam is not metal, It is pop with distorted guitars and leads. Groove is slowed down thrash
tb90hm You Obviously Don't know shit about Metal
theres a difference between the kind of glam Pantera, KISS and Poison did, and the kind of glam Skid Row, Aerosmith and Steelheart did. One is significantly better, less 'pop' (if thats what you think it is lmao), and ballsier than the other. I came here out of curiosity, I can now say I dont like any era of Pantera
Thanks for posting because I had never seen nor heard it before! I actually like it. Rex looks really hot!
It's all Pantera, it's all good, deal with it and listen to the music.
They sounded just like "Dirty Looks"! Seriously, the singer is even imitating DL's vocalist's signature inflections. I am only a year younger than Dimebag, so I can remember how easy it was for some ppl to get caught up in the hair metal scene, but there was still a very active punk culture happening....
Kick ass 80s
amazing old school texan heavy metal all right WOW OH ugh
I like this pantera more honestly...
Indeed. More fun.
holy shit, that's so fucking cool :D
Hot n Heavy! dum dum dum
I love that bumper sticker on the car
hahahahah omg amazing!
Lovin' the rainbow trousers
ahhh those fuckin boots remind me of Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber "there ya go... there ya go... there ya go..."
I apologize for taking so long. I'm on tour since early November. I get only a couple days at home before leaving to Israel in February and it's not likely I'll get to it before March....but I havent forgotten.
?
Fuck yeah! all pantera kicks ass! it dosent matter who sung or what, ill take all of it! PANTERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP ABBOT BROTHERS!
so much power!!!
yeahhhhhh !!!
Awesome!
it's INCREDIBLE see that, and pantera "today"
amazing
is so incredible the change of direction of pantera!!
this clip is a joke but very funny
what a fantasttic guitar player was dime
Serious Question: what happened to the master tapes for the music videos and recordings of Pantera's hair metal outings? Were they destroyed when the 90s came around and the started to do Groove Metal in an effort to scrub this Hair Metal stuff completely?
All we have left are these crusty old videos and Casette/Vinyl rips on the internet and its kinda bleak if thats all we'll ever get
The person that originally made these videos still has the masters according to him, he said he made digitize them at some point but that was a couple years ago. Once I get the ability to re-digitize I should be able to put up a slightly higher quality video. When I uploaded these there was a 50MB limit…
My favorite Terry Glaze song is hot n heavy
1:24 🤣
If this is "better quality" then I don't want to know what it originaly looked like
At the time I uploaded the original version that was only 50 MB this version is 100 MB that was the maximum UA-cam allowed at the time. at this point, I probably should delete that part of the description lol
How can the same band that produced this have also produced walk ? The headbanging anthem and possibly heaviest metal song to be produced ? ....I'm confused 🤨
If that confused you, look up Michael Bolton Metal....
Web Of Hair if youre talking about early bolton..that wasnt metal but pop rock
This is how they got their start because Vinnie & Dime were massive KISS fans
Walk is so soft compared to some tracks from TGST and FBD. I'm not mentioning reinventing the steel because even though that album was heavy, half of its songs are mediocre.
NeonKnight - reinventing the steel was amazing fuck off
17 years ago this was uploaded damn
And it was on the front page for about a week and a half to two weeks!
Its not bad at all. But thank you Phil for making it better.
I didn’t know glam was cool until I saw this
