I'm glad someone recorded this epic moment in Heavy Metal history. There is no reason to comment on the solo part, the rhythm part, or the guitar in general, and I see people doing that. Just to add, Dime has everything in his little finger and he is only 22 years old. They played "No remorse" better than Metallica and the last fast part.... monstrous. There is no better frontman than Phli from the early years, until 1994. His appearance, his demeanor, his evolution from glam-power metal singer to urban-groove MC is amazing. This should be shown in schools so that children and young people can see what a band looks like at the beginning of a mega career, a band that saved Heavy Metal. Thanks for the video.
I really think they were just plain heavy metal or bands that were in between traditional heavy metal and glam like Keel. Doesn’t really matter though since it kicks ass. Metal Magic was the weakest of the early stuff though even that had the title track which was full speed metal

I love this stuff but i much prefer the Reinventing the steel era. Phils vocal range on steel was phenomenal. It was great that he started singing again. They were all amazing on RTS. Great tours too. I wish i could go back and catch all their tours.

It’s a crime that this isn’t for sale anywhere that I use. It’s really good. I always thought Cowboys was their first album but I’m digging their earlier stuff too, especially from this Power Metal era.
It's on UA-cam, I just use UA-cam music and can have it on my playlists. It definitely deserves more recognition, very underrated album. Idk if it's fair to call it glam, it reminds me more of an evolution of classic heavy metal.

Agreed, considering they were pretty much the only band in the 90s that was waving the metal flag, they may as well have continued the image wearing leather and spikes, hard to look cool on stage wearing cargo shorts (well unless you're Dimebag)

Though the troubles from the mid 90's, as well as Phil's vocal decline, compared to what he's delivering here and early CFH era is something I always miss. I love the hard stuff, yes, but... there's something about that less dark, simply in your face banging metal that always brings me the most fun listening to the band

It was cool for the time, CFH is super fun and is an example of machine-like metal precision derived from a life of growing up in their dads studio, but Phil found his true voice on Vulgar and the ultimate Pantera sound that made them the legends they are today.

I could never get into their early albums before 1990, but I do like the Power Metal album because it's the only other place Phil does the shrieking high pitched vocals from Cowboys From Hell. Pantera definitely changed for the better by taking influence from the 80's thrash stuff that bands like Metallica/Slayer were doing at the time and innovating it into their own trademark style of southern/blues inspired metal.

The best version I can find is "Domination" in Moscow but it's also on the "Joe's Garage" video too. Why did Phil have to change this band so much and get so heavy and act so tough and then try to act so cool all the time and then never sing ever again like this on any other albums but power metal and some on cowboys from hell but not much of it ever again??
I love the first 3 original albums to without Phil they are amazing!
I like there first 4 albums the best and the 5th cowboys album to was great but then rest of the albums are good to but I got out of the screaming stuff and like this stuff better now and me knowing what they could have been playing like this it’s very disappointing what Phil did to this band and what he took away from them!
It sounds so much better like this rock sound and they would have been probably the best number one band in the whole world if they would have just stuck with this style of rock and would be up there with Judas Priest and Iron maiden and all the big ones and there music would of got to the whole world instead of just the metal fans out there!?
Phil is kind of a waste of great talent and just threw everything away and lost his voice trying to act tough and trying to look cool all the time instead of just sing great and have fun and then him smoking his cigarettes and screaming all the time he just destroyed his beautiful voice!?
Phil once had the most beautiful voice on the whole planet and cemetery Gates proves it right there!
But he stopped singing one day and just wanted to scream and that’s it and that’s all he ever did after!???
Why would you throw away your cemetery gate voice and power metal why!???
That question keeps me up at night!!!???
The best singer in the whole world and he doesn’t want to sing anymore and he just wants to scream his songs out why destroy that beautiful voice???

yeah vinnie said in a recent interview that they covered most of the songs on appetite in their early days. I've been searching for it ever since then
When he means early days he's probably talking WAY early like pre-1983 before metal magic when all they would play were cover tunes.
well I doubt they could've covered that far back because gnar didn't form until '85 and appetite came out in '87
True, yeah i dunno. Pantera played a shitload of shows back then and probably not even 1% of those are on tape, so who knows if that'll ever surface.
