@@Luis_fer_saldana So well said. thats why I always say that one should judge watches by what they bring to the table and seiko cocktail timers are way better option than tissot
I bought that same watch last October and it's made every morning a challenge ever since. It's now difficult to find a reason to wear the other watches in my collection. It's a honeymoon period that's lasting way longer than I thought. The case and bracelet are so dynamic that it's hardly ever going to become boring on the wrist, and personally I find it very comfortable to wear in any situation, be it in the office, for a night out, for a more formal event, meeting for brunch with friends... The PRX can do it all!
I was actually thinking to go out and buy this watch today and you've released this video. If this isn't a sign then I don't know what is! UPDATE I bought it!
Have been enjoying mine for a couple of months now. In the real world, this watch punches well above its weight. The fit and finish is very impressive and on par with much more expensive pieces I have owned or handled.
I didn't need another sub £1,000 automatic so I bought the quartz. Great value; you get most of the best design features at almost half the price, plus it's "grab and go".
I couldn't justify going for the quartz for the fact that I prefer the look of the Automatic, plus if I already have more expensive watches the chance of me ever grabbing a quartz over another sub $1000 watch in collection is lower. But if you prefer the look and originality of the quartz then it make 100% to ppick it.
I have the automatic and love it. It’s very impressive to look at it up close through a macro lens. But simply holding it in your hand tells you what kind of quality you’re dealing with. That solid feeling, usually only found in higher price categories. If they release the 35mm version with the Powermatic 80-movement I will get one of those too!
On this watch, for me, the jumping second hand on the quartz model suits the 70s style. The watch that most resembles this one is the Oysterquartz, so embrace the battery-powered movement.
I've owned the Quartz version for about a year now. Absolutely gorgeous watch. Whenever, I wear it, I often catch people just staring at my wrist, before catching themselves when they realised I'm watching them staring at my wrist. In my opinion, the Quartz version is the way to go. Go ahead and pull the trigger if you haven't already. Lovely watch.
I opted for the quartz movement. To me, it seemed a little silly to pay tribute to a late 70's quartz design reference by purchasing the automatic version. The PRX is the only quartz watch that I own, and I don't regret my decision. In a sea of automatic watches, it is actually very refreshing to put the PRX on and not have to worry about it. As a matter of fact, I like the PRX so much that on a recent trip to Italy, where I had to pack light as a matter of practicality, the PRX was the only watch I took.
@@mikescafidi I walked up to a TISSOT store one day to check out the PRX on display, I saw the second hand didnt hit the mark ask one of the staff about the QC issue, and then the staff literally tell me that's how it is with the quartz, and if I prefer the hand hitting the mark, I should go for the automatic one. I was really mind blown by the mindset of that staff.
@@willharris6492 Quality control comes into play for sure, BUT quartz movements by design have some backlash so you will never find a swiss quartz movement that hits on each marker with 100% dead on accuracy. I own this blue dial version since it was released. Truly amazing value for money, finishing, build quality, all very well done. Became a favorite daily watch for me, I love it! And running at +2 sec/day it's performing very well 👍
I have the blue dial version also and it seems like so many people sleep on it and get the black. I think the photos online are deceptive and don't show how dark the blue actually is.
I have the quartz version and it is also a stunner. Love this watch the 40mm isn’t that big even on a small wrist like mine but a smaller version is now out in uk
Have the quartz also. While shopping for one at a department store they had three to choose from. Out of the three only one of them had the seconds hand land on all of the markers which I thought would be a given for a Tissot or a Swiss watch. Bought the black dial with the second hand that landed correctly. I might add that it resembles Rolex Datejust Oyster quartz 17000. Love it also btw.
You nailed it on this one Jeni, I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve had this watch for almost 2 months I simply cannot believe the detailed polishing at this price. I spend a lot of time looking at watches online and trying to keep up with what’s hot and what’s not. This one’s a killer. It plays With the light in amazing ways due to the chamfered edges on the case and the indices. I’ve heard people say it’s comparable to watch is costing twice as much and I really can’t argue. All your videos are great. I am an old man and I have been collecting watches in Argentina since the 50´s, before watch quartz and when electronics, Bulovas and quartz arrived, we were so happy and excited to get accurate and economic watches. Mechanical seemed obsolete (they sill are...). Now seem younger collectionists prefer mechanical as they name them in these times. I just ordered the gold PRX and I’m so excited 🤩 I have automatic watches so for this one I chose the Quartz version. But I would recommend people to get the automatic version over the quartz :) !!!
I bought this quite a while in the black dial automatic. The AD installed an extra link for me free (why I go to an AD) but later I decided I needed another link for comfort. Called customer service at Tissot and bought an extra 2 links for $6.50ea. Customer service was great and delivery quick, all I needed was one link and now this watch is extra comfortable. Most people won't need an extra link or two anyway, but my wrists are thicker than average. It's a large watch for many, what's not said here is they offer quite a few colors in the new 35mm diameter and they too look stunning. Tissot also make some beautiful straps for it but the SS bracelet is stunning. It's my wife's favorite watch that I own. Well done Tissot!
I got myself the Tissot Gentleman with the leather strap as my first watch about 6 months ago because of Jenni and Teddy’s videos and as soon as I received it, I knew this was going to become not a hobby, but an addiction lol
Finally Jenni takes on this stunner! It's the next watch I'm gonna buy, but I will only treat myself after I reach my weight goal... About 6 kilos to go!
Good evening / Good morning Jenni, hope you are having a lovely day. I like the Tissot that you review first, but hate that 'waffle' effect, personally I think it would be better with a sunburst effect only on the automatic!
I bought this watch last June for £400, amazing quality for the price, the dial is worth the the extra money, it just exudes that special quality and the finishing is stunning, especially on the bracelet, looks far more expensive than it is
I had the watch myself, its amaaazing, especially for the price. I did end up selling it to fund an Aqua Terra, but I do honestly miss my PRX Powermatic 80.
I love how your all your videos in general have so much insight on just plain good watches and focus on the features, build quality, and stuff that watch "snobs" just don't even cover. Beautiful watch. I will say the one other difference between the PRX and Tissot Gentleman is that the gentleman has the silicon balance spring whereas the PRX has the usual Nivachron. Cheers.
Just bought the quartz white prx a couple days ago and it’s stunning! The bracelet shimmers in a dim room and outside. It fits perfect on my 6.5 inch wrist and doesn’t look big at all!
This is a great watch. I have the same blue automatic version and it’s great. Really accurate for what it is, and comfortable. They did also release a 35mm recently that would look good on you!
Soft spot in my heart for Tissot; my 1st really nice watch purchase. A chrono. Looked like it cost $2000 - was $300. Tissot is incredibly underrated as this watch illustrates.
I agree that this level of finishing and detail makes the PRX a luxury watch, regardless of price. And this video convinced me that the PRX will be my first Swiss luxury watch - thanks!
Hi Jenni, I received my Tissot PRX blue dial auto on leather. I also have a Tissot Le Locle small second in my collection and my goodness this watch is sooo[ much nicer as to fit and finish. . It is perfect on my 7.5 inch wrist. I have a self imposed amount of money that I will spend on a watch. My most costly watch is a Longines Big Eye and the detail on this prx looks just as nice and for alot less money. Thank you for your excellant reviews.....
It’s a beautiful watch. I bought one for me but I think it’s too big. I really hope Tissot will release a smaller automatic version in the near future. Thanks for the video.
Hi Jenni I have owned this watch for just under a year now and I have to say its fantastic! I have some really cool and way more expensive. But this watch has easily had more wrist time then all the others. It does suit a larger wrist. I have had so many compliments as well about it. I believe tissot are going to launch a 36mm version very soon and you can get it on a leather strap
I bought a Prx 80 brand new for $530 on sale. I love the thing, you have to be careful about the lug width though if you have skinny wrists. It's been making my other watches jealous with how much I wear it xD
I have quartz tissot couturier many years and like it. But when I saw automatic PRX in store I just tried it and "I want it, take my money". And still in love with its dial, finishing and movement. Definitely one of the best for $1k
Bought the PRX powermatic in blue last august, hands down, the most beautiful watch I own and I like it way more than any other integrated sports watch ❤️
Jenni… owning this watch, in the automatic, for the past 6 months I’d say it isn’t a luxury watch… however, with this level of detailing it can definitely swing with the luxury crowd. Side note… Ive observed that blue dials are a go to for many Watch reviewers, but the PRX pearl dial with the rose gold bezel is a total show stopper and needs more recognition.
❤❤i wore my prx in public yesterday-the coolest thing about this watch( attracted lots of attention )is that it has its own unique beauty !...doesnt look like a homage or a fake watch-i predict that these low prices of the prx line will skyrocket into the wonderful of vanity-and i am a proud owner of the quartz no worries excellance-a watch u can quickly grab and go out without the hassle of setting the time or adjusting-this watch will transform the efficiency of wearing an attractive lightweight thin timepiece !!
Tissot does make some very nice watches for great prices. An even more amazing value than this one and the Gentleman is the Tissot Couturier Powermatic day/date which incredibly you can pick up these days with a little bit of on-line shopping for around $340.
Ohhh Jenni, I am so excited you are doing this review. Love your channel a bunch. Would you consider doing the Bulova milships watch? Keep up the good work. Cheer’s
I got the white dial rose gold bezel PRX three months ago and it has been a daily wearer. I have watches costing 8 times the PRX and I have not been using them really. I find this watch brilliantly executed in all areas, the finishing in excellent and the bracelet very very comfortable. They even saved our coin by providing a cool designed but very affordable box to allocate those funds in the watch itself to provide all this value. Very Smart Tissot, well done. I`m sure the 1.7k valjoux chrono prx is another winner.
It's a nice, well made watch that doesn't break the bank (much), which, in itself, is a luxury these days. If something has to be expensive to be luxury, well, I'm afraid they are no real watch enthousiasts, but cork sniffing brand snobs. There are so many great timepieces out there that don't cost an arm and a leg, which you can enjoy a lot too, no need to downtalk these. Thanks for highlighting this in this video too, Jenni. I happen to have the Tudor Royal and I get what you're saying, I'm actually considering trading mine in for something else.
Hi Young Lady I love following your work. I bought a Tissot this year and think the best bargain for the money. In the powermatic 80, 1853 line it is a diamond dial 2 tone and get this a certified chronometer for under 1K$. Even some nice detailing on the rotor.
I just purchased this PRX in the 4mm case size. Luxury can be had at an affordable cost. And I spent an additional $60 for the matching rubber strap direct from Tissot online.
Love your videos, JE! Haven't bought a watch in a while but ordered the PRX right away after watching your video. And you know what, I really like the Tissot a lot. Great value from a well-known brand - definitely a keeper. :^)
I really like the PRX Automatic with the waffle dial.. The dial is what does it for me. Even though I have a small wrist and the 35mm PRX was appealing in regards to the size, I didn't want the quartz movement or giving up the waffle dial. I finally took the plunge and bought the PRX automatic and love it! A bit larger on my wrist than I'm used to, I find I don't mind the size so bothersome in a sports watch. Word of warning, buy the watch with the bracelet. If you want the strap, Tissot sold blue and black straps on their website for a reasonable charge. I bought my watch with the leather strap, then decided I wanted the bracelet. I finally found the Tissot bracelet in Germany, and by the time I had it in hand it cost over 3 times as much as a Tissot leather strap. Buying the watch with bracelet up front was less then $50 USD more than the watch with a strap.
I Did not imagine this to happen, but this is the only watch I regret selling... It's was so wearable, cool and bold looking on hand, without being too heavy (physically and visually). I'm now looking for blue dial quartz version...
Hi Jenni ! your videos are always interesting and really well done. I like so much the PRX automatic ! but I prefer the Tissot gents... maybe the next purchase. Thanks a lot for your videos ,your sweety presence is really enjoyable I like so much follow you . Bye to the next video
Excellent video and full review of both configurations. I was really thinking about buy one a couple days ago, or to get the moonSwatch. It's always good to hear good stuff from someone you trust. Btw, where are your Watch Cases from? The baby blue and the orange.
I managed not to buy a new watch this year but this is it! I'm going for the PRX. And as for the quartz vs mechanical I would save the money and choose quartz if it wasn't for the waffle dial that tipped the scale. If only there was a 38mm 😢 Anyway out comes the plastic now.
Great review, I love TISSOT watches very much. I´ve had two, a 1990's Quartz F1, a beautiful stanless steel watch and a 1990s Stylist Quartz (S/N F354A); I still have the Stylist, and coincidentally it has the waffle design, except that in the Stylist Quartz it goes diagonally across the dial. I am thinking in buying this PRX Automatic because the body resembles the Quartz F1.
I wouldn’t consider Tissot a luxury watch buy it’s a very solid brand with many good models and the quality is great for the price. Definitely worthy of being in any comprehensive watch collection.
I've been watching a few watch-fixing videos and this video popped up in my video feed. I actually now watched a few of your videos, your voice is really relaxing and the accent is cool. However, on my military salary, I don't think I ever paid more than $100 for a watch. lol
Greetings from Dubai Thank you for another excellent episode the powermatic 80 is an amazing watch. I have many top shelves watches and yes they are much cooler but at their price point the PRX is a absolute must have in any collection. Waiting for the third parties to come out with silicon and leather straps for this watch now
Great Video Jenni! Honestly, due to selling watches daily, I rarely give a watch a second look after having them in shop for a few days but the PRX is a watch I keep “trying on” months later. Maybe it’s time I just bring one (or two) home. 🤔
Got the quartz and love it. I’d rather have the quartz because when I put this on it’s truly a grab and go event or day that I need it. Also not a big waffle dial person. Great video.

good to know... this one is definitely too big for me in the 40mm size with the 50mm+ L2L length. I love a 36-38mm watch
Just got mine, p80 automatic in green waffle dial. Stunningly beautiful. The green one is highly sought after and selling like hot cakes too.
I have quartz tissot couturier many years and like it. But when I saw automatic PRX in store I just tried it and "I want it, take my money". And still in love with its dial, finishing and movement. Definitely one of the best for $1k
I got the green dial version of Powermatic 80 and it’s amazing 😻
Bought the PRX powermatic in blue last august, hands down, the most beautiful watch I own and I like it way more than any other integrated sports watch ❤️
Thank you jenni, but I wasn’t wait to the review to buy this watch, and absolutely love it
Jenni… owning this watch, in the automatic, for the past 6 months I’d say it isn’t a luxury watch… however, with this level of detailing it can definitely swing with the luxury crowd.
Side note… Ive observed that blue dials are a go to for many Watch reviewers, but the PRX pearl dial with the rose gold bezel is a total show stopper and needs more recognition.
Thanks for the videos Jenni! I agree, Tissot is a great brand to start off with
I bought this watch yesterday very nice watch, Automatic of course ⌚😁
I have this watch-thank you for confirming that it’s special! Love your videos, keep up the great work 👍🏽
❤❤i wore my prx in public yesterday-the coolest thing about this watch( attracted lots of attention )is that it has its own unique beauty !...doesnt look like a homage or a fake watch-i predict that these low prices of the prx line will skyrocket into the wonderful of vanity-and i am a proud owner of the quartz no worries excellance-a watch u can quickly grab and go out without the hassle of setting the time or adjusting-this watch will transform the efficiency of wearing an attractive lightweight thin timepiece !!
Great Video Jenni.
Cheer’s
Great video, I’ll buy one once they release the auto in a smaller version!
Jenni does great watch reviews but I have to admit, her accent keeps me coming back 😉
Than you :-D!
The PRX is a AMAZING watch it’s Swiss made and just stay all around impressive watch for the money. I can’t believe this thing is under 1K.
my aunt got me one of these(auto)for Christmas. have a few “nice” watches and find myself wearing it more and more it’s quite nice.
can't wait for Tissot to put the Powermatic 80 movement into the newly released PRX 35mm!
Great video as always Jenni!
Love this video! Just got it few months ago and I would say I have no regrets getting it 😊
Hi Young Lady I love following your work. I bought a Tissot this year and think the best bargain for the money. In the powermatic 80, 1853 line it is a diamond dial 2 tone and get this a certified chronometer for under 1K$. Even some nice detailing on the rotor.
I just got the 40mmj green dial powermatic and im so in love I have a small wrist still looks good and its doesn't feel so big on my wrist
I really enjoyed this review Jenni thank you!! Loved the double watch action too! I wear a Fitbit and a watch too. Take care
wonderful lighting and camera work!
I got mine in the mail today. Love it.
I'm still wearing my 1967 PR516GL. still going strong with 2 sec accuracy a day. (Great watches)
I have actually just bought this watch two hours ago. Loving it
I love it when I see real watch people wear interesting pieces from houses like Tissot or Longines.
This watch is so beautiful watch.. I bought one last year but mines a Quartz. And I love wearing every Penney of it. And Blue dial is just amazing..
However, on my military salary, I don't think I ever paid more than $100 for a watch. lol
Greetings from Dubai
Thank you for another excellent episode the powermatic 80 is an amazing watch.
Brilliant watch for the price. Tissot are back in the game
Got the quartz and love it. I’d rather have the quartz because when I put this on it’s truly a grab and go event or day that I need it. Also not a big waffle dial person. Great video.
A few days ago I bought the white dial prx 80 and it’s AMAZING
Great video very informative. Will you recommend it to women or the design is only for men?
The 35mm Tissot PRX (quartz) is already here - perfect for people without massive wrists. I'm just waiting for the PRX 35 mm with a powermatic 80 though...
