No matter what three other "ding-a-lings" are on the show, it doesn't get any better than having Brett Sommers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Richard Dawson, and the beloved host, Gene Rayburn! This was the best game show of the 1970's and it is great to be able to see these programs again 47 years later!
@ZoneFighter1 We still like Brett, and the camaraderie between she and Charles! It was funny back when we watch them in 1974 and still to remember with these videos!!
I've never understood all the hate for Brett in the comments here. I loved her back in the '70s and I appreciate the way she spiced up the show. Most of her "catty" remarks to others were simply a way to set herself up to be roasted herself. And when one of the other celebs zinged her good, she would laugh out loud with genuine delight. She and CNR were a good team and it's clear they were quite fond of each other. And when a contestant chose Brett for the head-to-head she was genuinely invested in helping them win money and really beat herself up when she didn't match and celebrated when she did. Match Game was a huge success (#1 daytime show) with Brett, so nearly 50 years later, it seems silly to second guess those ratings and that success. Without Brett, the show would have been drabber and less interesting.
Richard's 31st H/H match! Here's the updated leader board for the 7 celebs to have scored 3 or more H/H matches so far, ranked by their current accuracy scores: Orson - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Betty - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 46.7% (7 wins out of 15 attempts). Charles - 43.8% (7 wins in 16 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Richard - 30.7% (31 wins in 101 attempts). Brett - 28.6% (6 wins in 21 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 233, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
Elaine Joyce is Neil Simon's widow. Joyce Bulifant is still alive. Blondes have more fun and live longer it serms. Our beloved red-head, Fannie, is still gracing the planet.
I really feel that Charles of far too often overlooked in these super matches. He's just as intelligent, clever and witty as Richard, and will often go for making a match RATHER THAN making a joke, as Richard often does. Makes me a little sad. Charles was a genius.
I enjoy seeing Brett's various wigs. I remember that wigs were very popular back then and many women had a collection... But her hair really does look fetching today!
Lee seemed like such a sweet man. I bet he was a good dad. Maybe some day one of his kids will stumble on this video and leave a comment. And tell us about the pony!
@@MatchGameProductions it's just that the show its self up to that point perfect and that that same point ever show it drops in quality. I like seeing the interaction between the stars while the credits roll. That's for uploading and posting these episodes. I love this version of Match Game. The new version sucks.
Mike Manning Buzzr only has aired up to episode 222 of MG74 so that’s why the endings are credits from 2002-2003 recordings I have in my collection. Best we can do with the endings for right now! And thank you very much for the kind words
I love his voice, but he hasn't exactly cranking out the matches so far this week. But he matched me on the dumb skin diver question and again on the cucumber question!

@@kevansf absolutely!
@kevansf They are never really mean spirited(most times)
It was like watching a daily roast.

"Cadillac, Cadillac, Cadillac!" I cracked UP!
Fanny is hilarious. An entertaining, great regular...
Why did she say that?
R.I.P. Jack Narz. A very cool, very distinguished guy, with a marvelous voice.
That whole family is awesome. Jack Narz, James Narz (Tom Kennedy) and Bill Cullen.
@8:43 "i'll rip off your necktie!" sounds like the audience weren't sure how react to that?
I wonder how long they kept that card with Tracy on it.
I thought Dick Martin since Laugh In must have been popular then.
Elaine Joyce is Neil Simon's widow. Joyce Bulifant is still alive. Blondes have more fun and live longer it serms. Our beloved red-head, Fannie, is still gracing the planet.
Although in '74 she was married to Bobby Van.
Gene was out of line to keep kissing her on the neck. I wonder how his wife felt.
Rosie Greer is still with us
@@pencils812--Gene's wife was a SAINT.
Panelists:
1. Jack Narz
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Elayne Joyce
5. Richard Dawson
6. Fannie Flagg
Brett should thank her lucky stars for Jack Klugman ⭐
Elaine is good looking.
I love this show

I love Charles too. He always acts like he's going to have a heart attack when he's picked. It doesn't inspire confidence.
I was thinking Dick Clark since I'm watching this on New Year's Eve 2019. 🥂🍾🎉
Thinking back to the '70s I thought of Dick van Dyke.
@@kevansf or Dick Cavett
Dick Martin
The new contestant at the end has 6 CHILDREN???!!! GEE WHAT A SURPRISE
Must be Catholic.
I love Elaine!
Brett looks so much younger with her own hair.
Simone Guzman --- as much as she annoys me, I def. have to agree with u. She looks younger and better
You don't really believe that's her real hair?
@@proud_brettsomersfanclub8687
sorry - no way I can believe all that is hers
I enjoy seeing Brett's various wigs. I remember that wigs were very popular back then and many women had a collection... But her hair really does look fetching today!
She said she was bald
Believe or not but Brett was perfect today, 2 attempts to 2 matches..
Ever wonder where these people are today? Like, is Lee still married, alive, does he still have Richard's card that says "Tracy"?
I'd love to find out if his kids ever got a single pony! ;)
Lee seemed like such a sweet man. I bet he was a good dad. Maybe some day one of his kids will stumble on this video and leave a comment. And tell us about the pony!
Where did that ticket plug clip at 2:26 come from? Hahahaha
Brett was nobody fool. America is great today because of women like her. She is appreciated and missed!
Says a guy holding a giant Jesus is Lord sign.
Sometimes I think Richard writes in order that the contestant can hear his marker and make a slightly more educated guess...
ROFL!!! And this is a Wednesday show.. ;0)
Nobody knows that there are more than 2 time zones??? 10:23
Why does the picture go all kablooey once the show ends?
Mike Manning it’s called a VCR that’s helping to show you the end credits. No need to be picky!

They all seem rather boisterous today
They have been served alcohol and pills
Nancy didn't quite understand the game.
Those celebrities on the panel loved to show off. And couldn’t spell.
they cut Joy's answer?
Wait a second, "Dick [blank]" with Richard matching didn't instantly trigger Lee to answer "Dawson"?
True.
Jack seems to be more concerned with his image as a MC for another show then he should have been with getting the right answer

Brett is ALWAYS gorgeous. ❤️😍❤️😍
I LOVE when Brett gets one back at Jack. 😂😂😂😂
Brett always séems obsessed with Fannie 's chest. She has brought it up a number of times. Umm
Nancy looked like Kristen Wiig, doing a character.
Elaine Joyce is TERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIFIC.
If a lady has a cucumber... there is no need for a man!!!!!
Just ask Robin Quivers 😂😂😂😂🤪
Richard hasn't been very sharp at the head to head match lately. Grant canyon, he missed that and bing bag.
@20:48 An education aid?? Having 6 kids I guess it wasn't sex education! ROFLOL:!!!!!
