Love Fannie's shirt! Hilarious!! Gene was great and patient with Rolanda.Wonder how she passed the screening to get on the show. Hard to watch. Stars were a hoot tho!
i guess Im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me
Great episode Love this show, but Theresa seems some non-emotive in the previous episode not even getting that reactive to being kissed by Burt Reynolds and throughout the show just glowering or scared? Reminds of Wednesday Addams.
Actually, if you think about it, she was far more likely to understand a literary reference than she was to understand American idioms, which is what threw her on the other questions.
They should have had better explanation for Rolanda, it's obvious she was struggling to understand the questions, either that or just not take someone who doesn't have at least an advanced understanding of English terminology.
Fanny wears some of the greatest shirts, she's had hands sewed on also eyes. Poor Rolanda was like a fish out of water.. the review board blew it by putting her on...although she did win the tie breaker but missed the bird .
Kind of felt sorry for here. On the next show, the question about Dracula was terrible. The panel couldn't come up with a good answer. Dawson's answer was funny. My wife thought rabies would have been a good answer. I guess no neck was as close to a good answer as any thing.
The bird match was near impossible, with so many good answers that it would be a near miracle for anyone to figure what an audience would do with it. ("Bird of Paradise"? Really? THAT sure came out of left field.) Rolanda probably had not watched enough episodes to realize that her best bet was to trust Richard's remarkable instinct, but even he could have flubbed this one.
@@brettmiddleton7949 She could also have let the audience influence her - it seemed bird brain got the most applause. Going with her own choice was a pretty bold move...
Even though she is French, I don't know why she didn't understand the question. But she is not the only person to give an answer that is obviously the right one
The name of the novel Fanny wrote is "Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe", but the 1991 film adaptation shortened it to "Fried Green Tomatoes", which Fanny co-wrote the screenplay for.
I haven't either, but his game show work can be found online. I know I watched the original Concentration with him at least once, and a Beat the Clock from the 1970s that he hosted was recently posted on a game channel.
ROFL! Another fine episode! :0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! :0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! :0) ROFL! Love ya Fannie! ;0) ROFL! Love the entrances Gene.. ;0) Gene you have such great patience with people but Brett at time.. ;0) I'll adopt you Fannie! ;0) I streak once and got arrest of littering.. ;0) drafts.. ;0) stairs?? I guess she understood sailors better than I thought she did.. ;0) fishing.. jumping! ;0) Thank you Charles.. ;0) coconuts! ;0)
I never understood why women wore those hair styles , where the hair keeps falling across their face, and they are constantly pushing it back out of the way. Phone interviewed a woman one time, she did so great we brought her out for a site visit , where she met my boss and some of the board members. And all throughout the interview, she kept adjusting her hair while she was talking! It was distracting to say the least! My boss was furious with me. How could I waste their time with such a candidate? I was like, “well, she wasn’t doing that on the phone!”
It wasn't "dumbness". It was attempting to be funny and clever instead of just writing the answer that she knew would probably match the contestant. The producers of the show encouraged the 6th seat panelist to do things like this in order to break up the monotony.
@@patcrites5274 Yes it was a game show, but they spent to much time trying to be funny. I love people who really have a good sense of humor but they didn't. And Gene Rayburn when he was reading a question and he tried to change his voice as the character, I had to hold my nose he stunk so bad at that.
@8:40 "GUARD!!" Love it every time Charles implies Brett is nutty!
''Oh you came on a ship, really?'' That line just cracked me up
Elaine Joyce is looking glamorous and rather fetching.
It wasn't the first scoreless tie, but I bet it was the only one where both contestants answered "kisses" to their second-round question.

@Leonel Dangelo instablaster =)
Nice to see Jack Narz on the Match Game panel.
Yeah, but they only mentioned "Now You See It" and not "Concentration".
Fannie was a nut!
Rolanda Lollier - one of my favorite MG contestants,
She was flashing her boobs to women Fanny Fag was her real name. You can Google her companions.
NOW I understand Richard Dawson's occasional reference to "sunny side up"...
Believe it or not, that goofy guitar music on and off throughout the show can be danced to. My sister and I did it when we were 6 years old.
Jack Narz had the greatest voice
Well he sounds a little like Bing Crosby.
This episode was hilarious. I was laughing the whole time. 😂😂
“Who wants a good piece of mail?” 😂
This is one of the best episodes ever.
Yes one of the best episodes ever
"She hasn't eaten her eggs yet." 😂😂😂😂
I love Fannie

Some people get quiet when they are scared or nervous. It's a lot to take if you're a shy or quiet type of person. Gloria Greene was the same way.
One of my favorite episodes!!
Loved game shows back then. It had real audience applause and laughter. Not like today's game shows that add in audience sound effects.
14:44 "Speaking of coconuts...heehee Fannie" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fannie is a crack up 🤪🤪 🍳 🍳
"Robinson Crusoe - oh, she's dead!" Hehehehe! How wrong he was!
Not as wrong as "NO ONE is going to say coconuts!"
Actually, if you think about it, she was far more likely to understand a literary reference than she was to understand American idioms, which is what threw her on the other questions.
does anyone know what Richard Dawson always wear around his neck? It's a pendant of some sort.
“Robinson Cruso- oh she’s dead!” 😂
Crusoe!
@@mehboobkm2018 Thank you lol. Even I have to admit, this was very long before my time so I don’t know who he was either.
They should have had better explanation for Rolanda, it's obvious she was struggling to understand the questions, either that or just not take someone who doesn't have at least an advanced understanding of English terminology.
Perhaps ultimately it was her choice to do it if she got picked.
I'm sure she knew her limitations. She did better than Americans!
Better yet, they should have had an interpreter for her.
Jack Narz was always a gentleman.
13:30 Elaine is so cute and funny. This part is makes me lol every time
Charles: “And I bet some people are going to write coconuts”
Gene: “No one is going to write coconuts, Charles”
Elaine: *hangs head in shame* 😂

I would've said the captain was doing his duties off the starboard bow.

So the lady who would eventually write "Fried Green Tomatoes" has fried eggs on her shirt.
Sunny-side up!
The name of the novel Fanny wrote is "Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe", but the 1991 film adaptation shortened it to "Fried Green Tomatoes", which Fanny co-wrote the screenplay for.
Love that little voice of the contestant
8:47 "Guard!!"
Too bad Fanny went for "funny" instead of just saying "break".
8:46 "GUARD!!"
Definitely Sunny Side UP.
Rolanda rockin' the go-go boots like it's 1967. :D
They were still in style. I was fourteen and in junior high. Many girls were wearing them.
Panelists:
1. Jack Narz
2. Brett Somers
3. Charles Nelson Reilly
4. Elayne Joyce
5. Richard Dawson
6. Fannie Flagg
Most of these people were half in the bag.🤣🤣🤣
Bahahaha I matched Elaine Joyce with “coconuts”
I love you Brett Somers. What Brett said cracked me up. 😂😂😂😂
Good thing Yolanda's pretty and French.
9:46 "....walks funny"
8:47 "Guard!"
Gene is the funniest host ever!
At least the eggs weren’t hard boiled…..just over easy. 😂😂
I wonder how Rolanda felt as they said Pierre talks funny.
excellent question
I thought of cops or holes in the ground that could cause you to fall for the streaking question.
Gene is great at improv! Why would they chose a contestant that doesn’t understand English?
Rolanda was so sweet. I HATED that Gene kept making fun of her!
@@kristabrewer6736 Gene always has fun with the contestants
If I was Dawson I'd've said,"I'd like to see your bacon strip."
Wow I wish I could go back and watch this on an old teledyne packard H*LL TV
called for the guard again. 😂😂
Rolanda just cute as a button!
Fannie Flagg
With sunny side eggs up sweater.
I'm almost 60, and I have never heard of Jack Narz.
I'm 51 and I've never heard of you. We're even.

Me either.
ken Retherford , thank you. it's all I ever wanted to be.
They had this French girl on the as a contestant who couldn't even understand the question why would they put some one like that on?
Bird is the Word!
The Trashmen! People should check out their video of Surfin' Bird. What a riot!
@@kentclark6420 There's a punk version too that pretty damn wild!
She should have gone with Richard. I bet he had the 500 dollar answer at least 60 percent of the time. That is if he was the first pick.
0:58 and 21:03 cracked me up!
Anybody have any info on Rolanda?
I don't.

I've never seen a contestant more silently PISSED than Teresa!!
Not sure if she was pissed or stoned.
She seems sedated.
This is a funny episode. 🤣🤣
Hee Hee Hee I have eggs this morning I love that eggs shirt I want one to wear everywhere

Hilarious 😂
17:15 Charles wants one!
This was definitely an after break taping!
Nope, first taping of the day or the Monday show but Patti said they were a walking party sober but this panel knew each other fairy well..
Like the lady with the fake accent. Less fake than everyone else
These celebrities are too ridiculous
Possibly the worst Match Game contestants ever.
I never understood why women wore those hair styles , where the hair keeps falling across their face, and they are constantly pushing it back out of the way.

So, poor Teresa ends up with a blender, because Fanny is dumb.

Both Richard and Fannie failed to match Teresa, so why does Fannie get all the blame for her loss?
@@dmnemaine yea I always wondered if the panelists were told to answer in a comical way.
Gene said Teresa won $600 as she left.

Why the hell you grow 6 celebrities when contestants take only one specific game (Dawson) to win the game? What a waste...
And he was a wrong choice for head ti head match
