A good tip about team building as well, is just try out some other people's teams before building your own. Trying out already well taught out teams so you can actually see how a well constructed team runs, as well as watching and learning from people who used that team competitively. i.e. after watching the Baltimore Regionals, I really liked finalist Paul Chua's hyper-offense team, specially that Alolan Ninetales, so I'll be playing with it for a few days. And as always, great content, Professor, excited for the next video.
You're right! In fact, the guide also recommends trying out well-constructed teams when you're just starting, so you can learn how they operate in competitive play. Paul Chua's team is definitely a great choice-the Alolan Ninetales was so fun to watch! Thanks for the support, always happy to see you pop up in the comments, ZeeonXine!
Slow!? Brilliant video man, it's Slowbro's time to shine! Good thing gambit, gholdengo, Rilla, Archaludon, and Incin are rarely used! I wouldn't mind a video going into more detail about speed tiers. Keep it up!
Thanks for the video, I’m trying to make some adjustments to a team I made and needed advice but had nobody to turn to. I’m trying to see if I can use a Scrafty as a support, in the current meta it’s a damn nightmare, but I wanna see if I can get it going. Now I know what adjustments I need to make, thanks!
@@PokeProfessorJosh In know that you probably don’t want to, but I recently made a team with my favorite Pokémon dragonite. But it’s in sword. Do you mind making one too just to see if mine is similar?
Thanks for thinking of me! I’m focused on making videos right now, but check out teams on Smogon or Pikalytics to compare and maybe find areas for improvement, like the reverse engineering section I mentioned in the video. I’d love to hear how your team works out!
@@PokeProfessorJoshI built the team with a weakness policy dragonite and eviolite togetic (I know it’s weird just trust me). Togetic is great because it learns ancient power to activate the policy. It also has follow me and helping hand. Then I used some support mons like amoongus and incineroar, and for offense I have an electric seed tapu koko to make it bulky and hits really hard
Good to see you again, and thanks for helping out the algorithm! My favorite has to be Tyranitar, not because of VGC, but because I remember watching it in 'Pokémon 4Ever: Voice of the Forest' and thinking how cool it was. It's been my favorite ever since.
@@PokeProfessorJosh tyrantitar is always good, must be nice to be in a format where he’s good again :D (my favourite is chi-yu, I miss that fish so much :( )
My favorite of all time? Poliwrath! It’s been my favorite since I first started playing Pokémon, though the channel mascot, Poliwag, is a close second!
Exactly, synergy is a big part of the guide. A team with members that cover specific weaknesses will always beat a bunch of beatsticks... looking at you, Elite Four Lance.
Bro just exposed that fact that I am sat here, topless, watching a video about building a VGC Team 💀
Half my class showed up without shirts. I’m starting to think this is a ‘prank your professor’ thing.
HE JUST DID THE SAME TO ME DAWG

Bests of luck on your teambuilding journey!
I will NOT in fact wear a shirt next time😤
Mindlesss_mello, you're upsetting your classmates!
This is genuinely a fantastic video! Thank you for making it! 😄👍
Thank you so much! I had a blast making it, so I’m glad you enjoyed it!
This is like one of the few videos I’ve worn a shirt for in ages. I feel prepared 😂
@@RMwhite Looking through my comment section, you're in the minority...
@@PokeProfessorJoshbelieve me, any other day and I would certainly be in the majority 😂
Good content btw, just subbed
Thank you for the support!
Your editing was very engaging. Nice video!
Thank you! I'm completely self-taught, so it can be a bit rough at times, but I think I get better with each video.

why do you mean that that mons are rarely used 😂

This was an exceptionally well done video! Definitely subbing 🙌🏻😁
Thank you so much and welcome aboard!

You were caught off guard? Imagine how I felt! I'm trying to teach, and there you are.
Underrated channel. only 719 subs??? Nah. its 720 subs now. Amazing channel!
Thank you so much! 721 now! Slow and steady wins the race, I guess. Hopefully. Jokes aside, I really appreciate your kind words.

Its not a matter of having 6 good pokemon, but having a good 6 pokemon

Team building can definitely feel impossible at first! Keep at it though, and things will start to gel Taco Bell.

Let me further simplify, step one, catch incinerawr, step two, profit
Not true! You could also just trade for it and skip step 1 altogether 😭
