If this isn't one of the realist fight sequences ever on film i really can't call it - even the Warriors took a beating in this fight but managed to still win - pure awesomeness.
I remember when this movie was first released. It played in my hometown drive in for the entire summer. We all spent every Friday and Saturday nights there. Sitting on the roofs of our cars cheering for the Warriors. "WARRIORS COME OUT TO PLAYEEYAY"
This movie was made way before I was born, but when I was five I saw my older brother playing the game and it looked fun when I first played it I loved it ever since. When I found out there was a movie before the game I was like hell yeah and tbh it was worth spending an hour of watching no let downs in my opinion straight up my childhood
Dixie Rae great line by actor David Patrick Kelly now age 68. He actually came up with that line himself. He demonstrated that in front of the producers and director during the filming. They said That’s a brilliant idea so they put that in the film. It worked out great 👍.

My first year it was all film and I loved it but the second year our teacher made us start using digital because it was the way the world was going and it looked so bad, I was so pissed, I ended up dropping that class
I agree with using old cameras, espically for movies that take place in the past. Even "That 70s Show" used 70s and 80s cameras for the TV show even though it was filmed in the 90s or 2000s.

I sit here now laughing and smiling at the acting prowess of the people back then. I am now in my fifties and have just returned from a journey of nostalgia. Jeez, Swan went mutant mode here. Cochise too. But it was Snow's fight. The quiet dignified one, turned wrecking ball. The Warriors aren't good.... They're the best.
Swan 2nd in Command, Snow music man, Fox scout and memory man, Rembrandt you got the stuff? Ajax just soldier and keep your mouth shut, Vermin in the middle you handle the gear and the bread, Cochise heavy muscle and Cowboy to the rear.

Since Coney was more diverse at the time (same as most of NYC) they decided on a mixed gang. In the end, glad they did... It captivated me a kid and still love this movie

I saw him interviewed and he said he really hated being pulled from the movie before the end but they were trying to be as realistic as possible and because of his behavior and the gang being solid and having values because of his behavior he gave up his right to make it back. He said his favorite fight scene was with the fury anyway. They really made that scene for him because they knew it would be his last one.

This was a movie that was shown to us in film as literature class in high school 35 years ago. Despite all the massive violence, there is never a one drop of blood ever shown in this movie.
Some innocent bystander having to go to the bathroom walks into that and I can see them turning back around and running up the steps as fast as their legs will carry them. LOL!
I was in the 5th grade when I went to see this movie it was on a Friday night, that Monday at school all the guys who went to see it all had the name Warriors spelled out on any thing from white t shirts to denim jackets on the backs of them! Lol
I wonder if A Jax and Cleon made it . I mean I know Cleon got his ass handed to him by the Riff,s . But they never said wether he lived or not . And in the book he lived.
This is a great fight because it's the only one in the movie where it looks like the numbers are too great and they won't be able to pull through. They start getting double teamed and then Snow turns the tide with some badass beatdowns.

They choreographed the HECK outta this, like for real. This was such a good fight scene for the times. MAN, I love this movie!
