This entire movie was spectacular from start to finish. Guy Ritchie was a genius with British gangster movies and if Americans would have understood it, Pitt would have won an Oscar for this performance.
I was on this set and it completely changed my opinion on Brad Pitt. He was brilliant. And he stayed in character even in between scenes. Very impressive performance - one of his best. And a great career move
I watched this movie so much in my 20's that every time I drank I fell right into his character. I drank a lot in my 20's and needless to say my ex was not a happy caravaner
Been saying it for years. Acting is becoming someone else and convincing others that you are someone else. Brad Pitt as Mickey was once of the greatest examples of an actor becoming a convincing version of someone completely different to themselves. Should have got an Oscar for Best Actor.
"Acting is becoming someone else...." literally the most basic definition of what acting is....thanks captain fucking obvious. Did you figure that one out all by yourself.
Bradd Pitt’s best role shoulda got an Oscar, made that movie him and Boris and the dog, and the gangster guy, and Saul and etc etc brilliant film, I hate pikey’s, Became a British buzz saying for yrs.
Gary you hit the nail on the head. Of course Ritchie is a gr8 film maker but you're dead on in my opinion. Brad absolutely kills this role and the heart of his performance truly shines through by how he makes you feel just as invested in his whole group of family and friends even though they have so few lines because of his subtle genius way of making you understand there's no Mickey without the whole group. Just the epitome of unquestionable loyalty to one another regardless of circumstances.
If you've ever been around travellers, and a lot of British people have, you'll know this was a stellar performance by Brad Pitt. That he's also an American makes the performance almost incomprehensibly good. He lived with tinkers for a few weeks to get, as well as the accent, the mannerisms, the little touches like how to react to the barking dog, the choice of words for the ad libs - this was masterful.
Thats really fascinating since Guy RItchie said that Brad Pitt had LOADS of trouble doing the accent. So much that they considered switching the role for him
@@urosbugarski2380 That's mad. I can't even believe they would think that, let alone utter it out loud. His accent was bang on... I went to primary, high school with travellers (and I'm from an Irish family), it's pretty near perfect.
He stayed with a guy who lived down the road from me to practice for the role - Bobby Frankham , nephew of Jonny Frankham , a gypsy middleweight boxing champion from the 50’s , google “Brad Pitt Bobby Frankham”
Same! Of every amazing quirk within this phenomenal film, I also consider that to be the most hilarious bit...so quick & so subtle but simply incredible!
wow, and I thought it was only me who noticed that reaction. And its called true good acting ................... I dont think that the director told him to react the way he did
One of the best scenes in this cinematic highlight. You are formally placed in the role of Tommy. Fear, hopelessness and then anger again. His trembling and the tears - I'm really impressed by Steven Graham ("Tommy"). The arguing of the "wolves". It all seems somehow familiar. Guy Ritchy has really worked his magic here.
@@janoschii Stephen Graham is an incredible actor, underrated by most outside the UK/Ireland. The fear he conveys here, and that single tear rolling down his cheek is "chef's kiss" as they say.
This movie proved that Brad Pitt is far more than just a pretty face. He really can act! This was a very difficult role to play, and he did it flawlessly. Kudos, Brad!
I was a Gypsy/Traveller Liaison Officer in the Uk for a number of years, meaning I visited a lot of encampments trying to negotiate with them to behave or move on. This is the only Traveller movie I've seen that feels genuinely authentic, Brad Pitt absolutely kills it. I was frequently asked if I wanted to fight, but they always respected my polite 'no thank you' 😆
Like you, I worked in a Gypsy liaison office many years ago. Nobody who hasn't experienced travellers first hand can possibly know just how well Brad portrayed them.

Without a doubt Pitt should have got an Oscar... having dealt with travellers in a professional capacity he absolutely nailed the part... from accent to mannerisms... totally nailed it..
Denzel Washington said it best to Ethan Hawke when Ethan didn't win an Oscar. "Better not to win, Oscars only benefit the Academy banking off the Actors success."
Phenomenal cast in this movie. No weak links. Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Alan Ford as Brick Top, Vinnie Jones, Dennis Farina, Benicio del Toro, even the "All Bets Are Off" woman was terrific.
I guess it’s easier to do an Irish accent than a British accent. Brad pulled off the Irish traveller accent well, but I’m sure his British accents (Welsh Scottish and English) wouldn’t be great
Living in Ireland pretty much all of my life and working within the construction sales area for some years I dealt with certain types of Irish Travellers that had very similar mannerisms & accents and a certain business deal ethic that could confuse the fuck out of you. I was blown away by Brads performance when I first saw this movie, I feel even the best of Irish & English actors would struggle to pull this off with such authenticity.
Love it..."certain business deal ethic" ! Well said. 🤭 Great film on many levels! Ireland is a beautiful, beautiful country! I was lucky enough to visit & spend time there and it was everything I ever imagined and more.

Not just Pitt. The entire cast killed. I think this was a high water mark for Guy Ritchey as well. It's a collection of amazing wit perfectly delivered. When Statham tells Pitt to try and look like a boxer, the brief expression on Mickey's face is priceless. Even the whistling dog was crazy funny.

I introduced my 80 year old mother to guy Ritchie's movies and she absolutely loved them. This was her favorite movie of his. So glad she had that fun before she died. Brad Pitt's performance was her favorite.
One of Guy Ritchie's masterpieces. Brad Pitt added so much spunk to an already fantastic film. He's certainly proved his versatility over the years. BTW, this is one of my all time favourite flicks.
That one single tear that Tommy sheds at the end is amazing. One day people will acknowledge Stephen Graham as the amazing talent that he truly is (he was fantastic in Boardwalk Empire too).
The greatness of this role lies in how Brad simply enjoyed it. He never tried to steal scenes. Easily one of the most pedestrian performances I've seen from a star of his caliber.
The actor playing mickeys mate with the red mullet was actually the one trying to steal scenes. He wasnt really cast, kinda friend of the director asked for a small role if i remember correctly.
@@mindstagemtg kinda was generalizing the situation not the friendship. My sentence structure was lacking, i guess i should have included the word situation to clarify. The kind of friend of the director asked for a small role situation.
He’s off the charts here. Brad Pitt is such an amazing actor that when he’s not the lead role he never steals the camera from the lead actors; he has incredible memorable second tier roles like this one and many other movies. One of the best actors of his generation if not ever honestly
I love how he gave the guys playing his group room to react & emote to what he was doing. It all pays off when he's knocked through the wall & they help him back up. It really feels like this is a group of people who've spent their whole lives backing each other up through thick & thin.
@Sulla I agree that role was better because he was a lot more important to the story, but hey he still make an amazing impression here in less time, without stealing the whole film. That confirms how great of an actor he is
I don't care what Brad has done before this role, this is it, this is "The Role", I'm surprised this film did not get even a nomination for Oscar. Brad is absolutely spectacular in this role, hell, the whole film is a masterpiece. Frankly, I’m sick and tired of a polished style of American filmmaking, I just love British grit. Everyone has done a great job in this film, everyone. Oh, yeah, and narration by Statham is spot on too.
I worked in the scrap metal industry for 30 years. Pre 2012, when paying cash for scrap was made illegal, probably half of our gate trade were "travelling folk " of some kind. Brad Pitt is the only actor I have ever seen who has convincingly played a traveller.

@@joshuaperraton6748 Ah! I was wondering why they were being called gypsies. To me, before this clip, romani and gypsy are interchangeable. So you are saying these "gypsies" are ALL people of irish ascendency? @@jeanlundi2141 He's saying travellers have nothing to do with gypsies or Romani people. Where did you read anyone say that all Irish people are gypsies? :D
I think Pitt himself said he loved the whole 'Britishness' of the set up. He loved not being given full Hollywood mobile homes and a staff of servants, felt 'normal' in a way he rarely if ever can feel and he was greatly amused by how he'd be given a cup of tea during breaks rather than being asked what 5 star food he'd like delivered by personal courier. That relaxed and appreciated atmosphere seems to come out in his performance.
This role Brad played was such a treat - unexpected, understated, funny - and it was clear how much fun he had. I like having the translation of his speech now, here.
I love Jeffrey Goines! Also ... Floyd. He's a great character actor and comedian. I feel that if he wasn't as good looking, he would have many more roles like this and would be just as well known for doing them.
@@Kalleesto Perhaps, but he's capable of making his own decisions about which roles he does. Look at George Clooney, who no one would call homely or odd-looking. He does heavy-hitting drama and he's also not worried about doing comedy and looking a little silly. Brad Pitt's greatest role. Watched this movie a hundred times with my kids, who know the entire script by heart. Pitt should have gotten the Oscar for simply saying 'periwinkel blue'. Kills me every time. Anybody who doubts Pitt's abilities needs to see this movie.

This is by far the best acting Brad Pitt has ever done. As the story goes, he called Guy Ritchie and told him he wanted any part he had in a movie. Ritchie said he couldn't afford him, and Pitt said he didn't care what they paid him, he just wanted a part. I think he ended up taking $250,000 at a time when his usual pay was somewhere around $20 million.

It's sooo good! Such a small, side-man role though. He's getting better and better. "Once upon a time in Hollywood " is my favorite . Lots of screen time and his relationship with Leo and their dynamic was a joy to watch.
When you subtly quote it and some one vibes and quotes back. That feeling of understanding. It's legit. Super under classed cult classic that many haven't seen or heard of yet get it once they do. Haters gonna hate but it's just a little chaotic masterpiece in my mind. Before Statham and others were normal Hollywood.
"Save your breath for cooling your porridge." that is such a brilliant line from an overall brilliant performance from Brad. This is a classic in his catalogue, different from but just as quality as: Fight Club, Se7en, Troy.
Don't tell anyone, but when Mickey said that line, "Save your breath for cooling your porridge," I fell in love. This really shocked me bc I could have sworn that I was a straight male the entire 53 years of my life prior to seeing Pitt/Mickey in this Perfect movie. Also, you said Brad's performance here was "just as quality as" --- but bc you didn't put "etc," I insist on adding "Meet Joe Black" to your list :). Now I'm going to watch this movie again right after I make supper here in a bit . . . Golden brown, texture like sun Lays me down, with my mind she runs Throughout the night No need to fight Never a frown with golden brown . . .
If you liked Mickey watch Pitt in Kalifornia . With Duchovny and Juliet Lewis. I didn't even recognize Pitt till his name came up. His trailer trash accent is a class act😮
Truly one of my favorite movies. It's a whole, complete thing: the acting, the characters, editing, soundtrack, camera work. It stands up to repeated viewings. Pretty much perfect.
Benicio del Toro's performance as Fenster in Usual Suspects was Pitt's inspiration for Mickey. Obviously the accents are different, but Pitt was so taken by BDT in Usual Suspects, that he wanted to pattern Mickey's cadence, and general incomprehensibility after Fenster. During rehearsal, he asked del Toro's permission to play Mickey's dialogue as he did. Great respect between two masterful actors.
Actually he based his mannerisms and accent on a guy who lived down the road from me , gypsy Bobby Frankham , nephew of 1950’s UK boxing champ “Gypsy Johnny” Frankham . Google “Brad Pitt Bobby Frankham”
Shit yeah. He should’ve got an Oscar for this role. They could’ve hired a Brit but Brad really brought it. I trained in the UK for a few years and I can tell you this is not easy to do if you are not from there. Also, Statham was at his best before he became an action star.
@Cock McBalls - The answer to that is simple. He will never be Partick Stewart or Kenneth Branagh. So what. He knows it too. And he is OK with it. Why? Becaue of... money. And there is nothing wrong with it. All depends how much the contract is paying, and most of his roles are "easy" in this case. Just go through the motion, take a check, job done. At the end, no matter how anybody is going so spin it - all of entertainment is about money. If you want something different, go back to the roots. Do a theatre as an actor. Go for it. it is also amazing, but it is different experience than movies as such. I bet Statham is going for money. And I agree with him 100% (considering his background). Life is short.
@@oldschooldude8370 - because that was the "raw" Statham. First movie. Almost from the street, spotted by Guy Ritchie. Pure raw talent in a way (not being far away from his real life experience "playing cards", selling fake perfumes and jewellery on the streets of London) :)
I grew up with travelers in school and on my street in ireland, my jaw was on the floor seeing brad pull this off. He lived with them for months as far as i know, to get into the character. He could have pushed himself like this more often.
The first movies I saw Brad Pitt in were Snatch and Meet Joe Black. It’s difficult to imagine that these two roles are played by the same actor. He is truly talented. Of course in the case of Snatch it doesn’t hurt that it’s overall one of the most entertaining movies ever made. I must have watched it a dozen times.
@@pkzin2279 yes loved Fight Club although it didn’t begin to stretch his acting skills the way Snatch did. I think Se7en was the first thing I actually saw him in and I hated it. He mumbled his lines and particularly in the scene where it was pelting down with rain I just couldn’t make out a word. I also didn’t really get his manic performance in twelve monkeys when I first watched it - but looking back with the proper context you can see he is giving it his all. It was just me. Once you’ve seen the rest of his work you can only be amazed at the guy’s range and conviction. He’s all in. He seems to conjure a fully fleshed person out of thin air. I’ve no doubt Pitt is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood if not *the* most.
Even in a film he doesn't like, like a certain film he did with Harrison Ford(his problem wasn't Ford, it was the general mess that the production proved to be), Pitt always gives a decent performance, but when he really likes a role, you can tell that he did.
For those who may have forgotten ? Even though it was on a bit part really, Brad Pitt's role as the Complete Stoner Druggy 'Floyd' in the movie 'True Romance' was also played to absolute perfection. If you have never seen 'True Romance' ? you really should watch it.
Amazing movie. My absolute favorite of all time, with the original ending where she walks away and says something like “I guess Clarence was a loser after all, gonna find me a real man”. Lol
don't forget his role in Kalifornia. his borderline "psychopath in training" character really showed he could get socially ugly and in depth. i feel it was a direct opposite of his Joe Black.
I can't even begin to guess how many times I've watched Snatch. It may very well be my all time favorite movie. All of the characters were great, the lines and scenes were great, and the movie as a whole was so well put together.
im still saving it to watch it someday ! just like Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown,Goodfellas i know them all just havent watched them whole from start to finish just shorts
This has been the only film in my life, which I watched from start to finish then reloaded the DVD and immediately watched it again. Hands down my favourite movie of all time.
the best part of the movie is when mickey is on the couch drunk. he literally tells brick top he is going to kill him. "you will get yours"/ give it a listen. not many people picked up on it, not even brick top.
I remember first watching these scenes and figuring Mickey was just speaking gibberish. I was watching it with my then-wife and I rapidly realised she could understand pretty much every word. But I could pause, rewind, replay, and still - nope - didn't understand a word of it LOL. Such a brilliant example of his acting perfection. His cheeky shrugging grin after the knock-out in the ring! So brief, so perfect.

Brad Pitt was brilliant in this, he is an exceptional actor when given quality roles. But Stephen Graham's face at the end was a flipping master class in using facial expressions to convey emotion. Up there with Bob Hoskins at the end of 'The Long Good Friday'. An early hint at the great actor he was destined to become. Check out 'This is England' to see just how great.
Was just thinking this! being able to show people being scared without overacting scared...i can almost feel the lump in the throat you will have in that situation based on his facial expressions and mannerisms.
Great comment. I'm glad someone else appreciates Hoskins' acting in those last couple of minutes. It's like watching the seven stages of grief playing out on his face, finally ending with acceptance. Incredible.
I remember watching this stoned after coming home from a party. No sleep. A couple joints. I remember crying from laughing. Good times. And yes he nailed it.
when this came out you have to realize that it dropped jaws all over the world in each theather show; not only the tarantino comparisons stopped but it was considered its own unique thing; it had style, scenes, humor, a tremendous almost unrecognizable cast and there is at last: brad pitt. This one proved he was the real deal and after that no one, and i mean no one had any doubts.
Snatch in every way was a very memorable and so rewatchable movies of all times. Almost every character has so much iconic one liner dialogues in the movie, probably no movie had so much of impact screen presence for most of the characters as this one had. Credit goes to Guy Richie, one of his best, if not the best.

Alot of modern actors play themselves in most of their movies they do it very well ie Tom Cruise Ryan Renolds and such. What really impresses is when your favorite actor goes full chameleon and vanishes into a character its magic. To both of you guys, if you like snatch and rock n rolla, and so on, you absolutely need to watch “lock stock and two smoking barrels”. Seriously, this is probably the third time in my life I’ve typed the word absolutely, but it’s worth it. Same director, some of the same actors, and more twists and turns and all sorts. Lock stock is pretty widely considered to be the best British gangster film ever, snatch is probably top 3, and it’s got the same humour as this film. There is not one character I did not like. Guy is a genius.
I have always appreciated the type of roles Brad has chosen during his career. This movie was an ensemble cast and Brad shined as always with the odd characters he likes to play. The entire move (Snatch) was fun and Dennis Farina was amazing as well, especially when he returned to America and was asked if he had anything to declare. Add to that a dog and bam, you have a great movie.
Even from the start, when Tony Scott wanted him in True Romance. He turned down the bigger part he was offered, but said he wanted to play the stoner roommate character Floyd. He was like, "I know this guy, I get this character" and steals every scene despite having almost no dialogue.
Brad nailed the shit out of this.......not an easy accent to perfect , I was born in Belfast and lived in Southern Ireland Limerick for a time in my later life and Brads delivery and mannerisms where spot on (having encountered the real deal this was an epic effort worthy of one of those little Gold statues) just an overall epic film great work Mr. Richie
The whole movie is filled with, as Mac Rebennack would say, cara-actors. About the time you think one character was best, another one enters your mind. Snatch goes from one to the other seamlessly. One of my all time favorites. Only took me three times to watch it, so I could understand what they were talking about. I guess I should have put the captions on.

That single tear that rolled down Tommy's cheek was such a great touch to an already epic scene!
One of the best scenes in this cinematic highlight. You are formally placed in the role of Tommy. Fear, hopelessness and then anger again.
Why? Becaue of... money. ua-cam.com/video/HY7mRdQuUSw/v-deo.html
@@charlesburow8120 Yep, along the same vein. London underworld, some of the same actors. Great movie too. I like Guy Ritchie movies. He's kind of like Quentin Tarantino of G.B. Bricktop was a beaut.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yes!
I have the director's cut DVD back in the day and at 2:39 the subtitles just had a "?" for the next bit. Laughed so hard.
dags
I have seen this movie many times. Funny what I missed without subtitles.
I live in an area with a big traveller population and when you meet some of the older ones, or visiting ones, this is exactly how they speak. How an American could pull it off so convincingly is nigh on unbelievable. He should have got an Oscar.
Honestly, WOW. What an INSANE performance this is. The accent is absolutely impeccable but also just the mannerisms, the indirect evil that’s behind everything he says, does and plans. It’s a vicious character but marvellous
Real people are hard to find, but their out there all the same
Everyone did a great job in this movie.
This is probably one of the most underrated movies, & for sure underrated performances from Brad Pitt, that I can think of. Absolutely brilliant 👏
I first watched this film when it was released in cinemas. I went back a second time as I was blown away, mainly because of Brads performance! What a Masterpiece Guy Ritchie made. Along with Lock Stock, these 2 movies are in my top 10 easy!!
The Gentleman
Really wish he'd do more movies with the theme and tones he used for Snatch and Lock Stock.
@@Sevatar_VIIIth The Gentleman
@@jesussaves3248 my brother tipped me off to that one, I'll watch it tonight. I'm assuming it goes back to his old style of Snatch and Lock?
@@Sevatar_VIIIth You should watch Rockanrolla if you haven't, it's basically Snatch with different characters
Graham was really great in “This Is England.”
I’m watching him now in “Taboo” with Tom Hardy.
Graham also had a role in "Gangs of New York."
Great comment.
I'm glad someone else appreciates Hoskins' acting in those last couple of minutes.
It's like watching the seven stages of grief playing out on his face, finally ending with acceptance.
Incredible.
There's only ONE Stevie Graham 😀...ONE Stevie Grahaaaam...
I remember watching this stoned after coming home from a party. No sleep. A couple joints. I remember crying from laughing. Good times. And yes he nailed it.
Thanks for sharing your life with me

@DonFryskHD hahaha sure, enjoy ! ;)
@@DmantopG cool you are welcome :)
He really didn't tho. Jesus Christ, Family Guy does better Irish accents
Same!
I loved his grin/laughter with the shoulder shrug after he knocked out head butt’r.
when this came out you have to realize that it dropped jaws all over the world in each theather show; not only the tarantino comparisons stopped but it was considered its own unique thing; it had style, scenes, humor, a tremendous almost unrecognizable cast and there is at last: brad pitt.
And lock stock and two smoking barrels
@@blakeross5272 yeah that one too
Liotta performed his best, still rather unknown, performance in Revolver too. Shows what an extraordinary director Guy Richie is.
He's also the only director to ever make us believe Jason Statham is an actor or even awful Vinnie Jones is 😁. That's more than talent. That's art!
And indeed, this was the very best Brad Pitt ever. Fabulous movie. Impossible to overrate 😊
Yes Revolver is a masterpiece also. And Ray Liotta did an outstanding job. "Fear Me!"
"Impossible to overrate."
You literally just proved that to be false with the entire paragraph that came before it😂
You are unfair to Jason Statham, he turned in two really solid performances in Hummingbird and Safe. He just makes some duff choices.
LOL, Revolver? No. Nope. Nope Nope. Ray Liotta was a fine actor, sure. But that was a terrible movie.
@@markcrandley8061 agreed, Revolver was a stinker
20+ years later, it is still one of my favourite movies of all time
Love how Brad just has a moment of clarity and flat lines anyone who tries...one of my favorite movies of all time...Thank you Guy Ritchie.
guy ritchie is a master. i've watched both lock stock and snatch about 50 times each, i kid you not. these films don't get boring _ever_ and pitt in snatch is just amazing. everything about it just works and flows and feels authentic. it's about time i watched it again.

I've never really been a fan of Brad Pitt, but I watched this film for the first time recently and he is absolutely bloody brilliant, he really proved in Snatch his talent in many movies was wasted.
Loved it.
U need to watch fight club. Bit violent. But his skills were top notch.
@@rahulvr4105 Thanks, I will😁👍
@@rahulvr4105 I saw "Fight Club" very late. Based on the title, I completely misjudged it. Exciting up to the surprisingly realistic core, that reveals itself at the end.
@@rahulvr4105 Brad Pitt wasn't in Fight Club. He was just a figment of the Narrator's imagination.
Oh, he has some great performances. Twelve monkeys and Burn after reading are my faves. Also Once upon a time in Hollywood.
"Save your breath for cooling your porridge"
That line is my favorite Pitt line ever
This movie was So full of fine performances Brad Pitts role may have got a little lost in it all. It was an exceptional transformation for him. Alot of modern actors play themselves in most of their movies they do it very well ie Tom Cruise Ryan Renolds and such. What really impresses is when your favorite actor goes full chameleon and vanishes into a character its magic. Guy Ritchie is an incredible director and is responsible for some of my all time favorite films Snatch, Lock Stock and The Gentlemen. He's a little like Woody Allen in his ability to drag career best performances out of actors. Bravo. Where have movies like Snatch gone.
Anything to declare?
I would bet he even inspired Conor McGregor
It's one of the best movies I've ever seen, the way the plot twists and turns ,I think it is Brad Pitt's best role ever, I saw it without the subtitles, couldn't understand nothing he said at first, had to watch it about 10 times... but I think it's a masterpiece type of movie for him.
if "snatch" is up your alley, try "rocknrolla", "in brugge" and maybe "lucky number slevin"...
@@FulloutPostal "lucky number slevin" was a good one , I saw the trailer for "rockn Rolla" but never saw the movie, but I will check it out along with "in brugge" ,if you haven't seen it already, " rise of the foot soldier" the first one, it is a killer, it has 2 or 3 sequels that I have on my watch list.
It’s basically a masterpiece, snatch is insanely good, but I think lock stock has the edge.
Don't sleep on The Gentleman. Ritchie back in form with Hugh Grant as a something opposite his typical mewling, mush-mouthed twit character.
Watch lock stock and two smoking barrels, it's hard to choose between them, both guy Richie London gangster mastercalsses
THIS MOVIE was SUCH a masterpiece, as the world had never seen DIRECTING and cinematography like this before. THE MUSIC WAS EPIC
so many GOATs, i thot i stepped unto a farm ... amazing film, one of my faves
This movie is special, not only is Brad Pitt amazing, but I also don't think any of the cast were less than amazing, Jason Statham, Steven Graham I absolutely love, with a special mention to Benicio del Toro as Frankie four fingers and of course the brilliant Vinnie.
My favorite Dennis Farina line in the movie..."Avi, London's got white, sandy beaches ... Farina: Ya, well who the f*** wants to see them!"
He is all over the place
Even from the start, when Tony Scott wanted him in True Romance. He turned down the bigger part he was offered, but said he wanted to play the stoner roommate character Floyd. He was like, "I know this guy, I get this character" and steals every scene despite having almost no dialogue.
I don't know if I like his performance more in this movie or 12 Monkeys. He just knocks it out of the park in both movies. I love them both.
12 Monkeys... good call. You're right. Both performances are faultless.
12 for me, so far away but intense nonetheless
Pitt should have won an Oscar for this superb performance. One of the top 10 movies of all time.
Richie
It’s called an Oscar I think
The whole movie is filled with, as Mac Rebennack would say, cara-actors.
About the time you think one character was best, another one enters your mind. Snatch goes from one to the other seamlessly.
One of my all time favorites. Only took me three times to watch it, so I could understand what they were talking about. I guess I should have put the captions on.
The "do you understand a word this man says", fully deadpan, is in my books of the funniest movie scenes ever…
Mac Rebennack is Dr. John right?

Thanks for the subtitles btw.! As a non native English speaker, even after watching 'Snatch' for 38 times, I still did not have the dialogues complete. :)
It's OK - I *am* a native English speaker and I needed the subtitles too.
As an Irish woman, I was very glad of the subtitles as I hadn't a bulls notion of what he was saying....but the accent was dead on!
Layer Cake is also incredible. It's what got Daniel Craig his James Bond role.
A couple buddy from work yesturday were talking about rocknrolla.
“Sexy Beast” is the best British gangster film in my book, no disrespect to Ritchie’s films.
Not a Statham tough guy fan but his narration is brilliantly delivered.
Pitts performance in this is fantastic. His portrail of Micky is brilliant. As a Brit to anyone who lives overseas, Pitts work here outstanding. Hes acsent is unbelievable. As is his entire personality.
His accent is OK, not unbelievable. I'm Irish, it's passable but not perfect by any means.
What blew me away was how Pitt's punches looked faster than the eye can follow. It added to how convincing he was.
🤣
Wow! How many memorable movies has Brad Pitt been in? Moneyball, The Big Short, Oceans 11 (12 & 13), A River Runs Through It and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood just to name a few. He always delivers.
Fight Club, Troy, The Mexican, Seven, even Thelma and Louise...

Ive always loved the explosive energy when the pikeys rush to their feet to challenge the big fella to a fight...bottles breaking, dogs barking, mom squeeling in panic...just pure joy really
Brad played this role perfectly and it would be hard to imagine anyone else playing the part even half as well.
Nobody else would even get an offer to play this role as role as written specifically for Brad. He is a good friend with Guy and asked to give him some small role in his new movie but Guy told him he cannot have huge star is some small role and he would create a character just for him.
