People talk a lot of crap about Steven Segal nowadays but back in his prime he was very entertaining and clearly knew his stuff. I prefer to think of him in this kind of role, not as the meat roll he is now. 👍🏼
Inside info from Sonny Hurst who got hit (he was my husband-RIP) the first time they filmed that Steven used a real cue ball. Later changed up with a lighter ball.
The bartender is Nick Dimitri, who played Street in the movie Hard Times, where he fought Charles Bronson at the end. He's a great actor, stuntman, and gentleman. Much respect!
That movie is pretty badass. I liked the fight Bob Tessier has with that pretty boy where he beats him up using only his head, not his fists, basically giving the guy side headbutts left and right.
My favorite part is that guy getting shoved back into the phonebooth multiple times. Seagal should have had a line for that, like "Go call Ritchie". LoL
We should start a movement #gocallrichie calling for the studio to release a new version with the line, "go call Richie" edited into that scene. Who is with me?
I fucking do. I remember watching this movie for the first time when I was about 13/14 years old on tv, and I laughed so hard I was crying in this scene, it's what made me love Seagal's 90s movies, this will always be his best for me.
@@xakariz Yeah the cue ball part made me laugh the hardest when he kept hitting people on the head with it like a whack-a-mole game. I was a little younger than you, perhaps 12.
His early work for me is honestly some of his best films. There have been some good movies in the 2000s but to me not as good as this. Hell even some of his recent work is decent.
@@ZaneTruesdale007 I don't know about that. He looks very tired in recent movies. There's this one where he's walking around with a 1911 shooting people silently, and then he got in this fight with this dude and he had to bend over all slowly while this guy is standing around waiting. It's pretty painful watching. He should have just ended his movie career in the mid 90s.
Dan its decent but its not that great nothing that stands out like marked for death or under siege. And as for the comment ending his career in the mid 90s exit wounds into the sun and belly of the beast were decent.
All kidding aside.... I'm very concerned about Richie. He stopped coming to the meetings and I think he may be struggling with his feminine side. 👁️ 👁️ 👃 ⭕............. .yo
I would die laughing if I heard someone come into a store asking if anybody seen Richie just so I could yell back anybody know why Richie did Bobby Lupo
Inspiration? He's the opposite! Steven Seagal had to make himself act and sound tough in this movie by doing a half-assed Robert De Niro impression, other films show Seagal doing a half-assed Clint Eastwood impression.
When Seagal was still fun. If this were real life, no matter how bad-ass of a cop he was he would end up in a rolled up carpet in the not very distant future. The bartender is the actor that played the Pro fighter vs Charles Bronson in "Hard Times". That was one hell of a great movie.
For me, the best part of this scene is the funny dialogue between Gino and Vinnie when they say "But there ain't nobody upstairs". For me, it sounds funny😂😂
You know, in every band you need specialists. Sticks is the Kung Fu guy. The one with the tattoo is the strong guy. And you always need the crazy one, the boss, the gunman and many more.
I was ten years old when my dad took my younger brother and me to the theater to see this. For months after, my bro and I were constantly asking no one in particular, “anybody seen Richie?” To this day we still drop the line periodically in mixed company and with no context just to make the other laugh. My parents still don’t think it’s funny.
The real star of this scene is Benny The Book. Tattoo gets his teeth knocked out, Sticks gets his fingers broken and everyone else gets their heads kicked in, but Benny The Book just sits there and takes it all in. A true legend.
Lesson 1. If Steven Seagal is nice enough to put you in a phone booth, stay in the phone booth. Lesson 2. If you're in a movie with Steven Seagal and he asks if you're a tough guy, you say, "No."
I dunno man, I know there are lots and lots of people hating on Seagal, but I grew up on this shit, and it looked very cool back then, so much so, I even did some bullshido for a good couple of years myself, didn't learn much obviously, but hey! This guy is fun

Steven Seagal had to make himself act and sound tough in this movie by doing a half-assed Robert De Niro impression,
other films show Seagal doing a half-assed Clint Eastwood impression.
