I liked the Langarans. And I find it incredibly hypocritical of O'Neill when he criticised them for not uniting since not only the SG program was kept secret but also O'Neill himself hated the Russians and didn't want to work with them at all
I like the fact SG1 spend the entire show going to advanced societies asking for technology to help defend themselves and then Kelowna asks them for advanced technology to defend themselves and SG1 find themselves in the same position, while they might wanna help these guys there is a real great risk they'll misuse the technology.
That’s one of the things about the show I love. They start out, as the Nox would say, young. But by the end they understand why their allies didn’t just give them everything.
I found them frustrating to watch. The constant non agreement and argumentative nature of the three representatives seemed petty. Having said that it was a true representation of how politics works. It was exactly the same when all the major countries found out about the star gate and it took Thor stepping in to make them agree that the star gate should remain in the Americans hands. While I say that they are frustrating to watch I think they are most likely to be a great ally to Earth long term. I wouldn't be surprised if Earth ended up creating a federation of planets and Langara becoming a part of that.
Oh there has been and is. Yes there have been many, many, many,…. many failed games. Some released and were taken off the market later. But Resistance has been kept alive by fan serves (though they are barren) and Timekeepers was released this year. It just sucks that the game kind of sucks.
I find it particularly impressive that earth has a huge amount of clout in the Milky Way, and even Pegasus galaxy, while nobody but certain military officials, specialists, and the odd politician I suppose know

Jonas is probably descended from an Ancient, same with O’Neill. His genetic differences isn’t because he’s Langaran. If a few thousand years could create a different species, Native Americans would be a different species due to being isolated from other human populations for 10,000 years, but they’re not, because it takes millions of years to become a different species
I guess that would be a good explanation, but O’Neil (and other people we have seen who are descendants from Ancients) didn’t have any increased intelligence or any other special super human abilities. Only the ATA gene which let them use Ancient Tech.
@@sg-24 I think O'Neill is pretty intelligent, same with Shepard, but they just chose to never use that intelligence for math or science due to personal lack of interest. But, I don't think just being a descendant of an Ancient makes you smart, humans are basically Ancients too, save maybe a few million years of development, but still basically the same species. We can interbreed, and they made us to be them, so human intelligence and Ancient intelligence properly isn't that different, but the ones who are descendants of Ancients just have a few genetic advantages that all humans will develop in the future
@@Ooilei that's true, there's more to intelligence than just book smarts. I know Nerd Cookies said something a few months ago about how Ancients have a different way to compartmentalize information in their brains compared to humans, or something to that extent.
What if Janus used his time machine to place some kind of time dilation field around the planet to advance the people somehow? Then they would be more biologically advanced!🤔🙊
Actually it can take just a few generations to change a species drastically, humans do this all the time to our domesticated creatures. For example wolves to dogs but also in just recent years, cows are very different then they were 100 years ago. Pigeons are another good example. Evolution can be very fast when there is pressure, in those examples the pressure is forced breeding for specific traits. In the example of native Americans, human are were already so aaptive before the separation that there was no evolutioninary pressure for genetics to change to any extent which would stop procreation with outsiders. This is not really because of the length of time however and even if separated for a 100,000 years it is unlikely to have changed much either. Modern humans have actually changed little (comparitivly) since we can first be seen in the fossil record 300,000 years ago.
The Ancients were familiar with Naquadria (they planned on using the Icarus Planet's core to establish a wormhole to the Destiny). The Goa'uld presumably stole one of their textbooks
So I have had someone tell me this before. First why does Canada have such cool name? And second the Japan thing from what I saw if weird. The fact one moon can only be seen from the southern hemisphere and the other only during the day doesn't sound particularly plausible with orbital mechanics. The former because simply, orbits don't work like that. You're either perfectly over the equator or your're technically visible in both hemispheres, the latitudes of dependent on inclination and distance (coupled of course with planetary axial tilt). The latter technically could be placed at the Langara-[langaran sun] L1 Lagrange point (that's not confusing at all as Lagrange points are a real thing), it wouldn't stay there for any geologic length of time, and technically wouldn't be a moon. It would also be really damn far away as well so short of being unreasonably large such that its size destabilizes Langara's orbit or both end up in a "horseshoe orbit" (which would violate the daytime moon requirement for a number of reasons including not being a moon), it wouldn't really be visible.
