Nintendo never abandoned ARMS

- In this video I prove once and for all that Splatoon 2 wasn't responsible for killing ARMS. I want more people to actually play this game instead of talking about why no one plays this game.
I will grass root ARMS. Watch me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARMS!

ARMS is such a good game and i still like to pop it in every so often to give it some love. It's a shame it didnt catch fire like it deserved to.
We can fix it brother our time is NOW
@@BrettWils legit was thinking about playing it the last couple days and I didn't even know its bday was coming up, I think it's a sign we need to revive ARMS.... And you were right, I did enjoy this video 😆
I'm trying hard to revive it brother hopefully this video pops and the community realizes how much time we've wasted
I think it’s because no esports player wants to play a game that relies on motion controls. Nintendo should have pushed this as a casual game and their other esports series (Smash Brothers and Splatoon) as the competitive esports they are.
@ItsMeChair1 Arms is not reliant on motion controls, the button controls are much better in my opinion. The fact you think this, is a sign that Nintendo marketed the game very poorly. The game has much more depth than meets the eye and better control than shown off.
nintendo can we have LEGS plz
I know this is a meme, but if Twintelle can use her hair, a fighter that uses their legs would be SO COOL
@@BrettWilswe need a kangaroo character now

@@BrettWilsJust imagine, a stronger-than-the-others professional acrobat that is in a constant headstand.
Give us TORSO!
If arms gets a sequel people are going to be many different kinds of shocked
I’m very eagerly awaiting my told ya’ll so moment in 2025
Imagine if they call it legs and now it's about legs
id be so excited if we got a proper sequel on switch 2. Then again, we have yet to get a second nintendo land or tomodachi life...
It's not impossible, especially since they can change things like the difference between SF and SF2
Best glimmer of hope is Min Min being in smash as a sign Arms isn't done yet
Honestly Min Min is the biggest thing that says that Nintendo is thinking “Yes we did like how this game performed, just play you guys” more than anything. I guarantee a sequel is in development
@@BrettWils the real question is will it be the same game, different controls, or different gameplay all together?
@@BrettWils Min Min arguably has one of the best trailers too. Style is absolutely oozing. That single trailer breathed a ton of life into the concept of the ARMS world and really showcases the potential of the IP
100% same gameplay and controls, I can’t imagine a world where they change it
Same, but then I have the cancelled Dark Horse comic as a sign it didn't do as much of a splash as Nintendo might have wanted.
I just think they should’ve had a campaign mode considering there’s like a ‘main character,’ an ‘evil main character clone,’ an ‘evil villain,’ and a ‘true final boss’
Honestly I would've loved any kind of expansion of the weirder parts of the lore. Like, there's so much that's just.... there and mentioned one time then not at all? It's kinda like how Nintendo did the real plot and world building for Splatoon, but there was nothing to support that world building in ARMS itself
One could say this video is a sort of...
Call to ARMS
Yeah I didn’t want to say it in the video but yeah that’s exactly what this is
Happy ARMS 7TH anniversary!!
I really hope by the end of this year that Nintendo will announce ARMS2 for the next console
This week’s Nintendo Direct that WILL happen on Tuesday is probably the Switch’s last. Then console announcement later in the year, then first presentation on games for new console before console launch. Mark my words, it’ll happen there.
Fr!? That's on my bday 😳
I'll be 20 when that happens this week!!
Happy early birthday, but I don't actually know. I'm just taking a stab based off of historical data. So we'll find out!!
@@BrettWils your prediction for the Nintendo direct has been confirmed. It's gonna be on my bday
I literally came back here JUST TO TELL YOU damn I'm so good
It sucks we abandoned ARMS. Last night I hopped in party match and played with someone that I played with a few days ago.
Honestly it was so comforting hopping into Party Match to record footage for this and being able to find a lobby quickly. It really helped reaffirm what I was about to do?
As someone who is part of the community and also tries their best to keep their flame alive, I love everything you said in this video, Nintendo gave this game a decent run with its updates and events, it's on us to do more. Can't wait for a much deserved sequel to come out! Loved the video!!
I’ve seen your videos around for like YEARS so I was so hopping you popped in here and gave your approval! Thank you so much! I have one more gift in the community in me for now as my next big upload, then after that it’s pure growth however I can to grow us 🫡
@@BrettWils Can't wait to see it, im subbed now! I really hope you make it big as a creator 🙏
Thanks man, I appreciate it so much! You mind if I reach out to pick your brain about something sometime? I really need help from an ARMS historian
@@BrettWils Sure thing, I added you!
You’ve been singlehandedly keeping the arms community on life support recently
Arms had so much incredible variety in its characters, along with cool modes like headlock and the sport modes like volleyball! Every time I load up arms I always have a good time, hopefully it'll get more traction with a sequel when switch 2 comes out.
HARD agree! I was actually really indifferent to V-Ball and Hoops at launch but it's really grown on me and it's so fun
You've made a really good point. I always blamed it on spl2, but the reality is WE also didnt give the game much love. I think once im given more free time for myself, ill try my part again to reignite a small interest in arms in ky own small friendgroup. Hopefully we can get a second chance with the game in the next console
I’m so glad to see the video is reaching the ears around me, because I’m guilty of not keeping it up in my local area too 😊
That’s what it’s about, grass roots and people doing money matches in garages. Hell yeah.
It's always weird seeing videos with titles like "do ppl play ARMS in current year?" When i got the game 2023 first thing with my switch and i can count the number of times there were no ppl in the lobbies in party mode on half a hand. Even when i check it out late at night, there's still a bunch of Japanese players up at that time for me to go rounds with lol.
Sure on ranked, its much less lively but i think its moreso that as with most fighting games, vast majority of the audience isnt looking to git gud and grind. And everyone who does fall under that camp are in too high ranks to be getting matched with brand new players or setting up private matches with friends. Even still, I've found and had good sets from time to time, so it's still got life there.
It's a real fun game. Ever since 2017 it was my mosted wanted switch game and I'm glad i finally got it alongside my switch. Already have over 100 hrs while I've of course been enjoying other stuff. It's honestly probably Nintendo's coolest IP for me personally, and despite a loud few that like to paint it as a flop, i do see a lot of support for it in response by most comments. Its also surprisingly popular with families i noticed. Looking forward to more on the next system, cause I know Yabuki and co are itching to go back.

The drums? Or start singing in pain 😂😂
I remember arms being one of the games that really made me want to get a switch but I never ended up buying it once I did. Since the hype for it died down I got kinda sad thinking I had missed my chance to get into it but this vid is pretty reassuring that there's still a player base. I might even try it out before the new console releases!
There is and I’ll be discussing it next week
Counterpoint: ARMS died when Min Min made it into Smash before of certified Best Girl Lola Pop
Actually most based take here
100% agree. You could tell where arms was going based in youtuber support. There was about a week after launch where youtube creators made ARMS videos and after that...nothing. The only other instance i remember hearing about it was an update anouncement during a direct and most youtube creators simply said 'is that still supported?'
Yeah I’ll drink to that. I don’t know that UA-camrs knew how to make content for it.
@@BrettWils It's a weird case of "usual Nintendo UA-camrs not understanding how to make fighting game content" and "actual fgc creators being lesser known and more invested in long running traditional big name series" in my opinion. I mean even WHEN a new traditional fighting game IP comes out, the fgc isn't as dedicated to it as they would a new street fighter or something. But it is up to ARMS own community that it does have to keep things up, even after ARMS 2 eventually drops lol. Support both y'know?
I think this is the right take. You can kinda even see it in commentary during the ARMS majors of the Golden Age too. The matches were really solid, really great sets but I don't think the commentators knew how to commentate to make it entertaining, informative, and able to draw people in? That definitely put a huge damper on ARMS in the FGC scene
Dude I thought that you were a channel with like atleast 10k and apperantly you dont even have 1k which made me surprised since this is an amazing video
You know I get this a lot and I appreciate it, but I’m starting to think I need to make a BrettWils iceberg so y’all know the lore
Yeah, this is the stuff. A few 100k professionalism. Maybe lacking some graphics that would suggest the budget of a career UA-camr but there's substance and research here.
Those really aren't necessary anyway- its just a clue.
Same!!
I really love ARMS, I have played 340 hours of it, not that much, but more than many I bet. I have been playing alot recently. I think one of the biggest problems with ARMS was how it was marketed. The ads leaned too much on the motion controls and neither the ads nor the game describes the multiple hidden mechanics of ARMS. There is many features like restanding, ARMS (weapon) weight classes, Arm girth, and mono vs.flurry rushes that are not told or taught through the game. These mechanics (and more) are what adds depth to the game. The internet hasn't helped with this. Most reviews of ARMS say it is a shallow game. There are few sources for good info on ARMS but my personal favorites are ARMS Institute, ARMS study lab, and SNG. We need to bring this game back! Happy 7th Anniversary ARMS!
This is a link to the playlist of ARMS study lab: m.ua-cam.com/play/PLgfEq3MlFcxJl56oNmKO7dQsjGit3eY12.html
Great video. Data-mining ARMS prior to Lola Pop's update shows a lot of planned fighters, arms, and stages that messed with my expectations and I don't know if I'll ever not feel salty over how Coyle's update felt more like a beginning than an ending.
But yeah, you're right. ARMS ain't dead. I still play all the time. ARMS just has a hard yime maintaining relevance in Nintendo fan/FGC fans' minds due to how different it is from any other game ever. But I love how different it is. In a way it feels like it was made for me
We're still finding new things from datelining ARMS and I hope to talk about it and my take on it very soon :)
This game had tournaments constantly and even some this year so I wholeheartedly believe this game was supported from the get go, still giving tourneys for its loyal players.
Though my memory could also be wrong but this game when we had a trial, it was so fun to try.
To be honest one of the reasons I stopped playing is because the music gets irritating after a while and the stages are boring
This is one thing I'll drink to, as an ARMS OST appreciator
Hi I’m going to make the argument that arms only sold so well since it was a game that came out a month into the Nintendo Switch. If you look at the games that came out around launch they all sold really well, even if they’re bomberman
If I'm looking at Nintendo games that came out around launch, we're looking at Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, 1-2-Switch, and ARMS. ARMS was the lowest selling of those pre-established IPs, ontop of being a fighting game which typically sells lower unless you're Smash. Launch probably helped, but at the same time, it doesn't really matter because it.... Still sold. Sales are sales.
@@BrettWilssales are sales yes but everyone (At least in my friend group) had essentially dropped the game after they got more games.
One thing that I feel did hold ARMS back a bit was the lack of a fleshed-out single player campaign.
Splatoon's Story Mode helped offer an experience to people not interested in multiplayer gaming while adding onto the game's lore & characters. Arm's characters are really well-designed & charming with their own goals & motives so it's a shame we never got to see that fleshed out (And another reason the graphic novel getting cancelled leaves me bitter).
Here's hoping Nintendo gives us ARMS 2, and that we get to see more of the world of ARMS.
Yeah I'll drink to that. I think one thing that they mimicked through Splatoon is how the world building is presented in the Sea Scrolls you find in levels? Like, it's cryptic and you really have to care and read through it and dig like a Souls game, but you still have a fun experience to bond with the presented characters to really get into the world. ARMS has an equivalent to those, but it's definitely more tucked away
This kind of work is something that needs to be appreciated. You brought something to the table that I honestly, truly, never thought about until now. While I do believe some more content would have been more appreciated, we as a community need to step up. Every point here is well explained and really unbias, very very good work here. Earned a new subscriber, look forward to more!
Just wait until you hear my hot take on why people didn’t enjoy watching competitive ARMS during the Golden Age
this is such a well edited and made video, im shocked with how little recieved it is. while i was never a huge arms fan at release, the few times that i had played, specifically on my friends switch at release, it was always a fun game. all the points youve made are so perfect, just an amazing video all around
Thank you so much! But honestly though, I'm less than 500 subs, so I'm actually SHOOK by how the video is being received and viewed. This is crazy
I've been apart of it for years and im glad someone is covering this underrated gem. I still draw ARMS and I want to start making a channel based on it some day (with some other things too but mainly ARMS) please keep doing what you doing!! Also I too am hoping for a sequal XD this also reminds me to check on the game its been collecting dust for a while
Next major upload is for folks like you fam. We keep covering it until ARMS makes it. It's that simple.
I just wish it launched with a proper story mode so people could get invested into the characters and lore of the arms world. It's so easy to drop and forget about the game without a story
Good luck with getting the community back going. I subbed. I'll try to pick up the game soon
Hell yeah brother, I hope you can get a good deal. We gon' grass roots this together
I love this video! You just earned a sub! I’ve always struggled to get into more traditional fighting games, so ARMS was a huge breath of fresh air for me. I bought it a couple years after it came out, and to this day it remains one of my favorite switch exclusives. I was one of the five people popping off for Min Min in Smash, especially since she was my main in the original game!
All this is to say, your video has sparked my attention. I don’t know what someone like me can do to bring this game the spotlight it deserves, but I’m gonna try. If you ever need some extra manpower, or an enthusiastic voice, please let me know! In the meantime, I’ll be following your journey eagerly!
Honestly, growing the scene is really simple. We just have to get people playing. Playing with your friends, working with your local Smash/FGC scene to see if they'll let you host an ARMS side event. Getting more people into the game in person is the biggest thing!!
I have a deep appreciation for this game, it's one of the games that made me start streaming since I was active in a Discord that ran multiple weekly events for ARMS and other Switch games. I have many great memories of those days ❤
I also love that despite how simple it is mechanically, matches between good players are still intense due to how fast the pace of the matches can get
Dude that last part is exactly what I’m talking about. Everyone talks about how simple the game is, but anyone who says that did not watch the Evo Japan 2018 sets. So many good, fun matches oh my goooood
Yeah, It’s nice to see that there are still a number of concurrent players that appreciate and still put effort into their skill for this game, and I hope there will still be enough support for Nintendo to see and realize that they should keep the franchise going and not write it off as a lost cause.
Also I just Realized…I’VE BEEN FRIENDS WITH THIS GUY ON THE SWITCH FOR AGES NOW OH MY G-
Great video. I thought you were a channel with at least 50k subs. Keep up the good work, you are great at this.
New Brett content on Father's Day makes RadPlaidDad happy
HAPPY FATHERS DAY RAD AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARMS!!!
This is such a good video dude, I’ve BEEN waiting for an arms sequel I really hope we get it next console!
WE WILL BROTHER
Currently working on the final video of my ARMS Grassroots Trilogy for release this weekend, it's looking like it's absolute cinema so far
I'm a little late but happy arms-iversary 🥳 this video was super cool! I hope we get an arms 2 on the next console
We will brother, Direct #1 for Switch 2 I bet my life on it
I’d love to have an ARMS sequel where one of the fighters could be a Mii, that would be awesome.
People have a wrong interpretation of what a "dead game" is. Just because *you* don't play the game anymore doesn't mean that no one is playing. I haven't touched Smash Ultimate in about a year, but that doesn't mean that nobody is playing Smash Ultimate.
Some people need an incentive to keep playing a game, for example, timed events or new content. But a lot of players stick around long after the game stops being actively supported and in development.
I think it's because of how things are perceived because of social media and YT? Like, if no one is talking about it, it doesn't exist. That said, definitely way less people actively playing ARMS competitively than there could be
@@BrettWils splatoon 1 definitely wasnt a dead game during splatoon 2s lifespan. sure it took slightly longer to get into games but you could always find a match under 10 minutes. in my experience it was an average of 4 or less minutes. splatoon 1 was very much so alive (maybe its because im playing on australian/japanese servers but i assume its the same with splatoon 2 too.
watching this video, was gonna click off, not a bad video but i got a little bored
i glance at the subscriber count..
wtf, this is way too high quality for this little subs and views, i assumed this was some 400k+ sub nintendo tuber that i had never heard of, dang.
now i HAVE to watch it all the way
I appreciate it brother. This one was definitely a slow burner but I hope it ended up being enjoyable all the way through!
as a person who's never played arms they should make a sequel called ARMS+Punchout, combining both the universes and gameplay styles of the two franchises
I actually played this game seriously back when it came out. I was playing online and it was really a blast playing a fighting game where there was no META that was present on release like Smash. It would be great if they announce a sequel.
I think one of the saddest things for me is that ARMS didn’t live long enough to actually develop a meta? Like, a real one? It’s definitely not a solved game for sure
i love this game so much and try to play it often! its gameplay is really fun to start but challenging to master, and i love how the technical parts come in the form of what arms you use- it feels like customizing your own fighter with your preference of playstyle and i think thats really such a fantastic concept and i love it! (not to mention the amazing character designs and how the game is just FUN!)
i completely agree though that nintendo didn't abandon this game. so many people flat out just make fun of it for some reason or insist its a flop (it literally outsold the entire xenoblade series btw). people ditched this game and then in typical internet fashion blame nintendo for everything
regardless i love this game so much and ill always keep playing it! id love if it got a sequel one day, but honestly even then the one game we have is amazing and something i truly cherish!
This was like the most hype nintendo announcement when it was first revealed, like a successor to splatoon, and then everyone immediately ignored it's existence.
I got arms when it came out and it's very fun but I did sell it years ago trying to get a new game plus there wasn't much going in the game. So now after watching this it makes me want to buy arms again because it's still an amazing game also it needs support and I hope it gets a sequel.
I’ve been wanting to get back into ARMS recently. ARMS was such an incredible concept, and I know there’s so much they could do with a sequel!
We still out here online, we just need to get more people playing irl
Great work on the video!
Absolutely agree. People are always looking to call a game "dead," or "abandoned" when in reality the game just had its run and now the community can enjoy it if they want. Arms is a fun game, and I hope we see the sequel on Switch 2.
If ARMS 2 has extensive single-player content like a story mode and overhauls the combat system so it feels like the ceiling is high and fun to climb and not the other way around, I'll be willing to give ARMS another chance.
ARMS has a cut story mode in the game files, so we'll probably get it. I can't see the core of the combat changing though. They're very much set on characters themselves changing how the game flows.
I’ve also been on the fence about making a similar arms video and this is really good work. 10/10 BANGER-but I don’t know if I fully agree with the notion that the fans and community are to blame-yeah the game did get updates, but there was never anything substantial or there was never a mode or reason to warrant people to go back to keep playing arms/ but again, like this is a really really good video. It’s made me rethink the entire approach. I was taking to mine.
My guy, look at any other FG in the FGC. People play irl, competitively, for the love of the game. In just like, the basic ass mode. We stopped doing that completely. Community is absolutely to blame for the community being fragmented.
@@BrettWils i coulda worded that better/ but as someone who loved arms at launch because of its personality and approach- i feel like many people dropped the game- because it just wasn’t fun enough/ wasn’t satisfying to keep returning to?
like yeah the community dropped arms quick- but not unwarranted- i had always hoped arms 2 would build more on the first and flesh it out some more- idk i think the community hyped it up and held on as long as we could’ve before it got stale🤔
That’s just a roundabout way of saying the community left the game then blamed Nintendo for the lack of support, no? Like I’d get it if it were a solved game with absolutely no room to develop new metas, but it ain’t. ARMS is as about as stale competitively as Smash, Tekken, SF, etc.
Until a majority of matches aren’t won by a direct KO and we figure out every unsolved character parameter in the game, there’s still SO MUCH arms to play.
Like, I dunno man. It’s just a weird reasoning when other games have been played competitively for years with zero support just out of love for what the game is, not what it could be with a sequel
I've actually really been meaning and trying to show people that Arms can be a very hype tournament game.
People dont tend to notice every single thing that happens during a match cuz it just looks like 2 guys punching each other the best they can.
But the amount of strategy and thinking going on from stage picking, to arm usage is very intricate.
Having hype commentators that can explain to the viewer whats going on and even translate some of the hype with their own is the best way to show the community that Arms is more than you'd think.
YES I think the biggest problem during the golden age was the commentary! Going back and rewatching old matches, it’s no wonder the scene didn’t grow because it just wasn’t that good
@@BrettWils I have commentated a couple matches before, I'm thinking on making some tournaments and commentating them for a video essay of my own.
If I can just show people that, I'm sure if we rally up together after that I know that we could do precisely what you say in your video.
It's not up to Nintendo to make it a big thing, it's up to us.
oh hell yeah, any matches you've commentated been uploaded? Would love to check it out for science
@@BrettWils I wish, the VODs were never recovered.
But I'm working on getting some new ones up in the following week or so.
Dude, like, hit me up. I got plans and I’ll need good commentators if you’re interested.
Oh sh*t, forgot about this game. Plan to pop this one back in after work. Thanks for this video, really enjoyed it.
I expected you to have at least 5k subscribers for the quality of this video
I’m excited for the day people start accusing me of being an industry plant
Great video Brett! :) I played the heck out of ARMS for 2 years. Love the art style, single player content, online and music. It sold well for it being a new IP.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! And same, everything about ARMS just hits so good
We may have abandoned arms, but there is absolutely no good reason Nintendo shouldnt have released a sequel by now
Like I said, it doesn’t need a sequel. Not on the Switch at least
very great video! LOVED IT! totally thought you had way more subs too considering how well made this video was!
Thanks brother, one day the sub count will match the quality
It's sad because I think its just that 3d arena fighters in general struggle, at least in america. I might be wrong about that but that's kind of the feeling I get, the fighting game community is fairly traditional; the only departure being platform fighters, which is all solely because of super smash bros. I love arms though, I wish it got more recognition from gamers, Nintendo did a great job with it.
I'm kind of the same opinion? Like, I feel like 3D arena fighters have a negative stigma because of the really cash grab "weed" fighting games that just.... aren't good?
@@BrettWilsI have that stigma against anime game because most of them are area fighters but I never got that feeling with arms because of the art style and fun gameplay
Problem is the 60 dollar price tag. Bump that down too 20 and itll be a best seller
Im actually one of the people that made an "arms forgotten" video 2 years ago and this video made me rethink what i said two years ago you made such amazing points and truth be told i think i made that video just beaacuse i was playing arms so much that i wanted more #ARMSbattlepass
If only I was making high quality video essays 7 years ago I coulda saved ARMS T_T
Super freaking awesome video!
Hoping for ARMS 2!!! Great video man!
All my friends are like “Brett nooooo it won’t happen stop this crusade we don’t wanna see you get hurt” meanwhile I’m just over here like “haha Switch 2 announcement gonna go BRRRRRRR”
@@BrettWils I hope lmao
It would be better if it was 2 arms
i hope you hit 1k subs soon bro
Thanks, me too! Really hoping the finale to the ARMS Grassroots trilogy this weekend does the trick. It should, because it's disguised as a Smash video. BIG GAINS
I'd love a sequel on the next system
Nintendo literally dropped its plans for arms’ extended media like its graphic novel that sounds like them abandoning it to me
Nothing about the timeline makes sense if Nintendo dropped it in 2021 because it didn’t perform well in 2017. Like, it wouldn’t have even gotten greenlit.
I’m 95% sure that ARMS’ graphic novel got canned because Ian Flynn started talking about his Mario visual novel pitch to Nintendo in 2019 and revealed too much, similar to how Nintendo pulled out of a Zelda series with Netflix because it started leaking. Zelda certainly ain’t abandoned, and it lines up well.
An arms essay video gaining traction? Now this is my kind of video
I'm actually very surprised by the traction, I'm really glad that people are enjoying it and it's resonating. We begin the New Golden Age
@@BrettWils The new age of arms is upon us
This is going to be me with splatoon in like 5 years
Holy, i didnt remember about this game. I just added it to my shopping cart, i have a hunch this one will be one of the expensive ones, i have never seen it on reselling sites for years.
Great news- I now have a guide on everything you need to know before playing
I remember when the switch was at it's early days and seeing the arm's trailer and thought hey that's a pretty cool idea for a fighter and thought the character design was neat but i never got around to getting a switch so eh it is what it is, but nice video tho
I enjoyed the music and the characters
ARMS has a special place in my heart for being such a simple and accessible fighting game when most fighting games require learning not only which character/playstyle you enjoy, but also very complex button combos. I do think the playerbase jumping ship so fast is logical, after all the game lacked much variety and meaningful content. If the game could make a single player mode like Subspace or NASB2's campaign, then I feel like people could have had more reason to stick around.
From a casual standpoint, I agree. From the competitive aspect I’m talking about, I don’t. That’s just doesn’t hold up over other fighting games
I played ARMS right after Min Min got into Smash (iirc, there was a demo released after? don't remember too well), and it was a lot of fun to play with my discord friends! I hope a sequel is in the works.
I think they did do a free weekend after Min Min release, yeah? I have no doubt we'll have ARMS 2
One thing I can say for sure about ARMS is that it´s soundtrack absolutely SLAPS.
this video made me want to pick arms up again!!! need arms 2 to happen and hoping it gets more recognition when it does... sucks that we lost the graphic novel though
I’m so glad I could reach my people 😭 The graphic novel is something I really want to try to research and dig into. It’s so interesting how it played out
Aww, I would love a sequel to ARMS ;w; The online community is actually still really active, from what I've seen when I join online lobbies, there's more often than not several people also playing!
This game really is oozing with charm and love in pretty much every aspect of it, in my opinion, just, AHHH, I really, really hope a sequel comes out, I would love more stuff in the world of ARMS! ;w; Please, Nintendo!
Bro I forgot this game existed
We all did 😭
I loved this game, played it a lot. I haven’t gone back to it because I assumed everyone left it behind. I’ll have to get back into it.
Yeah nah we still out here ARMSin
hope arms 2 is a switch 2 support game :)
I used to play it way often with my friends while being the only one whom owned a Switch. But was also unfortunately my last year at high school so ended up buying less multiplayer games.
I am so glad more people are coming out of the woodwork to give this game the respect it deserves!
I am on a mission from God (Yabuki) and no one will stop me
Amazing soundtrack and one of the best gaming gals twintelle, bless
I’m still playing ARMS in my free time and this video shows how ARMS should still be alive and kicking but isn’t. I firmly believe that ARMS is so underrated as a game and should be a lot more popular so, thank you for showing how it is not and why it is so un popular.
Anything to grass roots the scene and grow it again by sheer will and facts brother 😤
Nintendo definitely abandoned ARMS, but we did too. One of the most interesting 3D fighters ever will likely never get any new updates. It sucks.
Edit: There is Pretendo for Splatoon 1 (in case you didn't know). Also S2 killing ARMS makes no sense you can play more than one game 😂, like there 2 different genres the only thing similar is that they're in 3D.
I’d say so considering there’s scrapped story mode elements in the game’s code
ARMS sold extremely well, I love ARMS and hope it gets ARMS 2 in the launch year of the next console!
Lola Pop and Ribbon Girl are my gals!
Excellent video!
Thanks buddy I wanted to celebrate ARMS’ birthday in style
One of the most underrated games. I wish it had more modes and content. I think the graphics are fantastic.
Tbh I think the modes are diverse enough for a first iteration, really excited for how they expand it in ARMS 2
Why is it that every community I enter is slowly dying out and is waiting for a sequel
Because we don’t need no sequel we grass roots NOW because there’s still so much ARMS to play
God I wish it got somthing more
"Now... for the moment you've ( I've ) been waiting for.">-(:
Switch 2 will be a new hope for arms
Amazing video, GOD-LIKE video
10:36 I think this is your best point. It is true that Melee had absolutely no support from Nintendo and it still formed a community (though I don't know much about Melee history so I don't know how much time it took for that to happen or to what extent that's true).
But I think some of the other stuff you say feels like you're defending Nintendo too much. You say that Nintendo gave ARMS the same support as Splatoon 1, but Splatoon was given sequels. That's support, not for the game, but for the franchise. I'm not saying that ARMS should have been given 2 sequels like Splatoon did (mainly because ARMS has existed for less time than Splatoon), but at least one sequel on the same platform like what Nintendo did with Splatoon 3 would show that Nintendo actually cared.
Games like Melee or TF2 are a miracle, I don't think we should apply that same logic to other games. In my opinion, keeping a game or a franchise alive should always be on the developers, not on the players. Even if the support the developers give to a game is proportional to how many people play it, the players shouldn't feel guilty for quitting the game.
Less so defending Nintendo, and more so accepting the reality of how the company releases things. I feel like something that the two franchises will have in common on the Switch 2 is being able to have a fresh, new start altogether. As it is, Nintendo is pretty keen on getting franchises to an evergreen state on a console. A good example of this is Mario Maker 2 and how they quickly dropped support after Worlds were released. The updates to Splatoon 3 could have realistically been an update to Splatoon 2, but if you have a narrative arc to finish and it’s guaranteed money, may as well make a sequel.
ARMS in its current state is too evergreen to get anything outside of a larger, more ambitious Switch 2 sequel.
i wish i could support this community but i run on emulator
I never played arms. It looked fun, but coming out at the same time as Breath Of The Wild is insane. Everyone who bought a switch at or near launch was busy with BOTW.
Arms felt well polished and i thought it was fun but eventually it got sorr of repetetive.
It's a fun passtime here and there but I couldn't play it competitively
Is all the music in this video from the Arms soundtrack? Because if so goddamn I might just give it a go all this time later
Every single track, I keep it fresh like that
Bro whats the name of the last track? Its soo good
Last track is Grand Prix Ending (Staff Credits). It’s so beautifully chill, while I was editing that segment it ended up getting me super emotional which is why Editing Brett got added to the end (also so I could play more of the song)
@@BrettWils thanks man, and great job overall on the video!
We abandoned arms is hab that chill's
one of the most underrated games on the system
i only played the testfire bcus broke but it was real fun
and ive never looked back
Ok
ARMS 2 NOW NINTENDO, IT DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE!!!
I loved ARMS. When it Came out, both The demo and The main game were so fun. The thing that hooked me in was both the music and the lore, the world of RMS Is very mysterious and it has a similar charm to that of platoon. I'm not the biggest fan of fighting games, but ARMS really had me enraptured. Then, upon hearing the graphic novel for ARMS get canceled, I lost hope that the series would ever come back. However, if there is any effort I can make to show Nintendo that we want ARMS to come back around, show me, and I'll be there to help. Whether it be a Petition, Livestream, or even this comment, show me what I can do to help bring ARMS back Bigger and better.
Honestly the biggest thing in my opinion is getting more people to play. Having get together locally, working with your local Ultimate scene to run a side event. Sitting down and just playing the game with our local communities.
There’s SO MUCH more ARMS to be played
ITS 7 YEARS ALREADY????
unfortunately yes
5:12 nah the glock is a CRAZY background choice lmao
Marie keeps that mfin thang on’er I couldn’t get her to keep it out of frame
