I've said it before, I'll say it again. I love these countdowns that focus on a single game/franchise. The mixed lists are great for variety, but reduce how much you can say because you're having to explain both the character and the game their from for a comparison to the other entries. Single game/franchise lists allow you to compare the characters more directly, allowing you to nerd out more about what makes them.and the game special.

If Arms ever get a sequel (God I hope so), I hope they add in some sort of story mode with each character that we can dive into too learn more about their past and their relationships with the other fighters and how they interact with each other.

With me and the Ramen Bomber, you capitalized on the reason I love her so much; she's a very pressure-centric character who capitalizes on keeping that Dragon ARM up while keeping her foes on the ground. I play her with tons of slip-n'-slide like Kid Cobra but with the manuevarability and foresight to stand up to any effect like Ninajra's teleport or Twintelle's aura. (And plus, I said on your streamchat that she's my main and friggin waifu. I've never been afraid to admit that, so I will die on that hill. But this is YOUR list, not mine.)
I'm just glad that more people are giving this weird 3D stretchfest a second chance.

I find it oddly hilarious that Oscar found himself disliking Helix because he felt Helix wasn't hard to adapt to, yet the wacky slime fighter climbed all the way to EVO Grand Finals in 2018 for exactly that, being unpredictable and hard to hit.

I'm very glad people are starting get into this game again. I've loved it since launch. It's one of my most played switch games and I wish the series nothing but the best going forward.
Helix and Byte & Barq are two characters I’m good at, the latter being my main, and I agree, Helix’s elastic gimmick is a little weird to get used to, and Byte is very slow and big, but I don’t really mind either of these problems. Plus, with different arms, I think they are very good. Barq also completes Byte and gives him more options on movement and fighting.
I dont like this game, but i can respect people that do. We dont have to be up in ARMS about this one.

I've been a Min Min Main Main from day 1 onwards, but it's been a while since I picked up ARMS.
I've also been a Min Min Main Main in Smash Bros since Challenger Pack 6 rolled around.

It wasn’t perfect but I loved it, I loved its bizarre style of play, I love the character designs, I love its style and just overall was happy that Nintendo was continuing with making New IP’s after the success of Splatoon
Even when the game would get beaten down constantly by other fighting game communities I still felt passionate towards it because I could see the potential and love this game had

From the let's play I thought Missango was going to be number 1. I don't own the game but I played quite a good amount when they had the free trial last year & I really enjoyed it. An ARMS 2 would be cool.
As a master mummy main, I completely agree with you. Nothing is more satisfying than tricking you opponent into keeping their distance so you can heal yourself, and as soon as they realize your healing, they try to stop you, only to get a mouthful of megaton.

I had a concept for 3 Arms fighters, if you're willing to take a minute and read this comment.
Fighter 1:
Name: Astro "The Moonwalker"
Age: 22
Height: 6'1
Weight: Unknown
Arm Material: Oxygen Tubes
Theme: Space
Hobbies: Tinkering with machines, stargazing.
History: Having spent the past 16 years in a space colony and longing to see his childhood friend again, Astro was done with all the repair work he was stuck with on a daily basis. He quickly got to his own work and constructed a suit that would allow him to travel to Earth, compete in the Arms League and reunite with his best friend once more.
Weapons:
Drilla - A parasol-like weapon, it blocks incoming attacks when used and explodes when charged.
Frostbite: A fast, whip themed weapon with a frigid snap and a wicked crack.
Sparkler: A star shaped chakram weapon that curves around and electrifies enemies.
Abilities:
1. Thanks to a hover pack on his suit, Astro can keep his guard up midair, denying any air counters. Unlike Dr. Coyle, he doesn't teleport, but can hold a longer guard. He can use this as an advantage to pull off a quick air grab or pull off a sneak attack when the enemy doesn't see it coming.
2. When his health drops to 25%, Astro activates a booster on his suit, buffing his speed for the rest of the round.
Fighter 2:
Name: Mad Jack "The Prankster Prince"
Age: 18
Height: 4'5
Weight: 160 lbs.
Arm Material: Vines
Theme: Halloween Trickster
Hobbies: Pulling pranks, making people laugh.
History: Jack is a mischievous little internet prankster obsessed with Halloween. Like Kid Cobra, he entered the Arms League to promote his work, but to also mess with the other combatants. Despite this rough exterior, he only does this to make others happy
Weapons:
Whack-o-Lantern: A hammer weapon that slams foes with burning power.
Goober: A scorpion shaped arm that sneaks up on foes and blasts them with blinding goop.
Tri-Dart: A revolver weapon that pummels enemies 3 times with poisonous prowess.
Abilities:
1. After performing a grab attack, Mad Jack can restore 1/8th of his health.
2. If Jack's health drops to 40% (a little marker is shown on the health gauge), he gets angry and his rush gauge will charge 25% faster.
Pretty cool,but where's the third?

Name: Paw-lina "The Feline Striker"
Age: 21
Height: 5'7
Weight: 190 lbs.
Arm Material: Yarn
Theme: Cat girl
Hobbies: Knitting clothes, playing with bells.
History: Despite being born with cat-like features, Paw-lina lead a pretty normal life with her best friend, Astro. One day, she woke up and realized her arms were transformed into the very material she crafts with. Realizing that she could now enter the Arms League and hopefully find her old friend again, Paw-lina teamed up with Mechanica to build some weapons and earn that chance to reunite with her bestie once again.
Weapons:
Yarn Ball - A bouncy, oversized ball of yarn, it bounds along the ground and bulks up in size when charged.
Fan-Chuks: A nun-chuk weapon that sends enemies flying with a blast of wind. (The batons are replaced with thin paper fans.)
Furnace - A shield based weapon that blocks incoming attacks, slowly creeps up on enemies and roasts them with fire upon impact.
Ability: Paw-lina only has 1 ability, but it makes her one of the trickiest characters to battle. At the start of each round, Paw-lina spins a small wheel and whatever color it lands on, she can copy the ability of one of the 5 starting characters of Arms. (Blue: Spring Man's shockwave, Red: Ribbon Girl's air jumping, Green: Ninjara's teleport, Purple: Master Mummy's healing and Yellow: Mechanica's super armor) It's randomized every time, but her speed and durability are usually balanced.
Also, just for fun, I made their grab attacks as well.
Astro: Tosses the opponent slightly in the air, performs an aerial backflip and then strikes them 4 times with a shoryuken attack. Each hit does 45 damage, 180 in total.
Mad Jack: Slams them to the ground with his left arm, then sends them flying with a vicious right hook, giggling like a maniac the whole time. Both hits deal 75 damage, 150 in total.
Paw-lina: Goes full on "Hulk vs. Loki" on the enemy, slamming them against the ground 3 times (left side, right side, front). All hits do 50 damage each, 150 in total.
I didnt understand what he meant by misango was for him, and then i looked at his name, oh its the greeen scorpion.
When I saw my old username in the corner, I was confused as heck since I thought it was my own Switch notifications; turns out I was play Pokémon Shield while you were recording this

When I first picked up this game I heard a lot of people enjoying Helix, but to this day he is my least favorite design, to play against, to play as, to see art of, and to listen to... But I feel like it wouldn't be ARMS without him.
Given the playthrough you had recently this was inevitable. Also that intro was hype!

But seriously, cool list, as someone with only a passing interest in arms, this video really helped me understand what everyone is all about, i also found the list pretty funny too, from Colgate pompadour man to you trying and failing to not be thirsty for Twintelle. Also regarding Min Min..... is the number 8 in a countdown being controversial just gonna be a thing now, man this trend sure does exist now doesn’t it?
Could always go with my Mech strat, jumping around and dodging so much that the enemy can't hit you! As long as you don't keep to a pattern, you usually either time out win or beat them if you're using heavier damage arms!

I am a pretty old player and I can do the hardest level but I love using helix. I use his blob ability to dodge. I recommend a boomerang with him for it gives a lot of range.
First time one of the content creators I regularly watch gave some attention to arms. Not sure if I'll pick it up anytime soon but the interest is there now.

It's so weird hearing my own voice and seeing my screen name pop up in your vids, lol. I've played Arms briefly but never bothered to pick it up myself because, like you said, the amount of content seemed really lackluster. It is pretty fun from what I've played though.

Spring tron is criminally low, his emp is less of a defense and much more like a charge.the blast might cover the boost but speeding you up and charging your arms is sooooooo nice. this power up is better than max brass if you ask me cause of it’s duration. But that might be the via of a main
Great video! :) I generally agree with all your picks- and it's so good to see someone examine all the fighters so in-depth! Nice to see Lola getting the love, even if you find her abilities slightly offputting haha. She's my definite favorite of the roster, with her bubbly design and sheer uniqueness to her moveset- bouncing around like a sweets obsessed balloon is simply pure fun(the animations in this game are toptier if I do say so). If we get a sequel, and I dearly hope we do, I can't wait to see the movesets and options expand *heh* even further!
I still love ARMS, and making Video Guides for it. Underrated, imo.
If they ever make a sequal to this game, I'm definitely going to give it a try. Personal favorites (despite never playing) would be Master Mummy, Max Brass, and Lola Pop.

I only played Arms once in game club at my high school(was like four years ago now lol),so I only played like one character and that was Min Min. While I had no idea how to play aside from punching and blocking that didn't seem to work for me for some reason,I clicked with Min Min. I had heard about her before that point thanks to Gaijin Goomba,so I was intrigued about her and it helped. Kinda upset she was stuck at number 8 here,but I totally respect your opinion since I haven't played the game since that one time lol
great now I wanna play it- gotta get it first lol
Edit: I got the demo since it's stupid expensive here($80 jeez-) but I tried out Twintelle and...not my cup of tea. Granted,it's only the demo,I could be wrong,but I just don't find her to be as good as Min Min. But hey,players are built differently so I won't judge you for liking Twintelle
Lola Pop has the best theme song, not counting Max Brass.

My main Mummy I always loved. Just took the mindgame your opponent wants and just limits things beyond their comfort zone.
Very cool to see a list like this for ARMS characters. Ain't a single character i dislike on this roster so no matter what it was gonna be all around enjoyable. Though I wonder how much the lore of each character effected the decisions, was hoping that would be brought up during Coyles section since so much of the world building is related to her

Misango's my go-to. Though I liked adding an Ice Dragon on him, worked well when I played online.

Misango, Ninjara, and Master Mummy are my favorites. Misango for design and origin, Ninjara for battle control, and Master Mummy for being a self repairing tank
Nice! Aside from Ninjara, your favorites are some of the lesser-appreciated characters
Just a lil thing about Helix's shield arms, they aren't locked to that slow movement speed. When you punch out the first time they go into block mode, then if you hit a second time they'll speed up. They still aren't the best, but they open up some interesting plays if used correctly
