Not sure what to feel when I hear/watch this.
Brings back an upwelling of emotions…….not only gratitude seeing them 1982 in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl, but being the soundtrack of my youth.
So damn thankful I got to witness this iconic singer and band. Thankyou boys for your dedication to craft. One hell of a ride

I love Journey my first song I heard from them was Lights. I was stationed in Western Germany on a mission of peace. We had to do a tour of several months at an undisclosed location. My friend was sitting in the stairwell after we took care of something important for our country. So there I was in a stairwell in some foreign land and I’m glad we had music like Journey to enjoy

It’s incredible how good bands were live back then 70s 80s.
This performance, as well as this entire show in particular, has to be one of the best live vocal performances of any artist. Steve's raw talent appears flawless and without effort. He could sneeze and it would be multi-operatic. Love him so much, so happy he has decided to return to music after all these years.

@sophiaaugustine I saw them first on Frontirs Tour in 89. I have a brain injury from a motorcycle accident so it's hard for me to recall the exact years but I saw them last with Arnel in Reno and he was almost as good morning as Steve Perry, but I have saw them with every lead singer and by far Steve Perry was the best and Arnel is the best replacement singer.

I grew up near Houston. I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1981. I remember this like it was yesterday.

I noticed that too, a loooooooong time ago. Some vocal coaches kind of make fun of him for that because they say it doesn't really help with singing techniques. But I think it's too cute!!! And it must help Steve, so....

The coach said raising your arm like that doesn't really help when you're singing, so he didn't know why Steve does it. I'm defending Steve and saying: Do you, boo! Whatever you did helped you become the best singer in the business!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen pictures of the sound rack, with a TON OF EVENTIDE HARMONIZERS... now they're not auto-tune... they just DO something to make it sound way better... and some will make certain scales come out better. I'm not sure how much they relied on them, but I consider the cost and effort placed in having them there... a lot!!!

I saw them at RFK stadium in Philly this same year opening, along with George Thorogood, for The Rolling Stones. Journey was definitely best performance for me at the time..

Having grown up in the late 70’s & 80’s... I will NEVER understand why/how people go to watch someone play “music” from a computer. It disheartens me to realize just how much is being missed by the youth of today.

Killer tune! Neal Schon normally plays this on a Fender Strat, but interesting to see him play this tune on a Gibson Les Paul.

I first heard this in 1978. I liked it but I knew of Journey and wasn't a fan. It wasn't until I heard the album "INFINITY" (which includes this song) that I realised this guy wasn't like old Journey and could belt out a fucking tune. Just listen to "La Do Da" and you are blown. GREAT SINGER, POSSIBLY THE BEST EVER.
