Elizabeth! What a Pleasure it is hearing your soothing tones! You and Sean have taken the World!
Nice video again Elizabeth. You could create your own travel channel or do the voice over for other channels. Happy boating MV Freedom.😊
I used to live in the west end of Vancouver near Stanley Park, and worked downtown at the Four Seasons Hotel. I am from the UK, and always have thought of Vancouver being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, where you can ski in the morning (Grouse Mountain) cruise in the afternoon to Indian Arm or Bowen Island, and go to a symphony orchestra concert in the evening, a rare combination of nature and culture all in one place.
Thanks guys, to cruise up Indian Arm in your beautiful N43 is something close to paradise for me !
I motored up Indian Arm once a long time ago, and it happened to be when I was when I was working for the Four Seasons Hotel!
We catered to a 145 ft motor-yacht in which the guests were toured to the head of False Creek at Science World near sundown, and then up the Arm after dark. So I didn't see much while on my (then) cigarette break on the bow.
I don't remember the name of the yacht unfortunately. But Cheers!
@@pubfixture Excellent reply, thank you. I worked at the Four Seasons in 1987, when Ruy Paes-Braga was GM, Happy days ! Cheers to you too !
Absolutely love the life your living.....best wishes from here in the UK......
Superb professional presentation combination of sights, music, and information, plus full sun. First Class!! Such a pretty area. Thanks for taking all of us along!!
"No high heels?" Yes sadly this is the case. Canada has had an issue with over-dressing for hikes and it has come to this. (said in jest of course) Love your show.
This is just a TINY TINY TINY TINYYYY sample of what B.C. has to offer !
I live here, am a boater, and looove it
She is an excellent narrator!
Tony & Susan here, your videography is exceptional, your lighting and sound are spot on. The narration is interesting and fun. Great work kiddo
Well observed Tony and Susan. I concur.
N Van boy here (now in SE Asia) loved summertime boating & hiking up Indian Arm, you guys made it look great in winter too
A management agreement was signed between the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation and the Government of BC in 1998. The management board has equal representation from the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation and the BC Government to co-manage all aspects of the park and heritage area. It's just good to have Indigenous stories and names. Stunning ride guys great job!
Hey I went to high school with you.....wvss
British Columbia is the original first nations treaty given to all. First nations people as part of the BCNA act. The entire province should be owned by canadas natives.
Maybe we just enjoy the boating and leave the politics out, isn’t that why we’re watching this?
I used to wakeboard in Bedwell Bay up Indian arm when I was a kid.
The fact that you're cruising there in the winter is a testament to how tough Freedom is as well as the two of you. Well done.
It's not often you could describe a cityscape beautiful but seen from the water it really is. BTW Elizabeth tell me you weren't still wearing your pj's when you cast off, those trousers (yes trousers, I'm english!) look suspiciously like lounge wear! Great video guys
Yep those are my pjs 😉
My wife and I and our dog use to do this trip almost every second weekend with our boat. It was a great day out from our False Creek moorage and there is a lot of water falls that you can get your boat up to really close. Should have gone to Twin Islands marine park in the arm it has a small dock that you can take your tender to, and its free. The Arm is a great place to cruise at any time of year but the summer is awesome
Stunning views with great cinematography backed up by excellent information, great job guys.....best vlog
Great video; the editing was top-notch.
Not sure if the perfect audio was better that the perfect video or the perfect channel.
Wow you’re too kind 😉
Up on the rock face just south of granite falls (right)is a D9 Caterpillar that was crushed by a rock blasting accident when attempts were made to punch a road thru from belcarra , honey's doughnuts is a must have in deep cove (I live in North Vancouver )
Yeah we gotta go back this summer for donuts!
Dang!! That does look like a good sammich! I think Miss Martha agrees!
My husband and I just started watching your videos. Very well done! Beautifully shot and great information. We are sort of biased as we live in Vancouver. ❤
French creek a good spot too
Hard for me to comment on perfection.
I have no words to describe what I just saw.
Sheer natural beauty that leaves you speechless.
So well done.
Great show this week. Your photography, editing and narration is great. I am interested in the technical side of the boat. When Sean brings the water maker into service would be a topic of interest. Appreciate you both. Thank you for the time you invest.
I'm so glad you have come to Vancouver. Fun facts; that bridge you narrowly went under comes out from Thornton Tunnel, 3.4km all under homes. And our family took overnight mountain bike trips from the Wig to the Chief along the Sea to Sky highway. Switchback trail leading to a high elevation plateau.
I really appreciate your fact blurbs you do. It all takes time to research but you do a great job. Great editing chops too, dipping the sound for the voice overs. All in all a really enjoyable channel to watch. You guys will surely hit a half million subs someday.
Could never do what you but SURE enjoy watching what you do
Really surprised there was not a marker on that bridge showing minimum hight at high tide. Should of been on your map though.
Wow very beautiful!
The history on the buildings was pretty interesting! Great video.
FYI: monitor ch 12 VHF, harbour traffic; call out to “Second narrows bridge” upon approach and ask for a lift, they raise the bridge when needed.
What a super nice cruise! The views were awesome!
Wish I could leave 2👍👍❣❣ Great video, information and views! I can't wait to see more of your awesome Canadian/PNW adventures! 🌄🛥 Thank you❣
Masterful- just beautiful winter cruising . You do such a good job.
Thank You you made my day.
I really like your song selection at the end of the video...( The Star Of The Show )...
thank you for the water tour of our hometown
Great video. That sandwich looked so good. The fjord is pretty neat. Vancouver BC is so special. Thanks for sharing.
Great trip. Never realised that Fjord was so close and so scenic!
Brilliant, thank you
Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences. Have you considered starting a boating channel that shares your extensive mariner knowledge? Systems, navigations, etc. I know a lot of people would enjoy that aspect also. Thank you again to both of you!!!
Thank you ... Great video
Love watching your videos! You have excellent videography skills, in-depth information about what you see and do, plus, your narration is top-notch. Great humour too. Thank you for all the effort and hard work you put into your channel.
P.S. I’m curious as to how you go about choosing the music you use.
The music choice comes after I got thru all the footage and determine what the “feel of the video” will be. If parts feel more light hearted, I look for those…if they evoke more emotion or have beautiful scenery I go for more cinematic or inspirational songs. Epidemic Sound is great for music!
I really enjoy the sight seeing fun facts tour! Please please keep those type of videos coming!
you found my secret hideaway but you missed Bedwell Bay across from Deep Cove great anchorage and really warm clean water in the summer. In the 70's Granite Falls was a tour boat stop with their own water wheel generator and buffet resturant and lots of docking but somehow a fire consumed it now its a regeonal park . thanks for the memory jog love your videos
Good to know!
Very nice tour.
I would think there should be some sort of nifty gadget that measures bridge heights for boat clearance. No?
Loved the video, but that music at the end😮
I don't blame you guys!.......I wouldn't be in a hurry to cruise Mexico now ,either!.....
So relaxing to watch. You two and Tony Fleming make such enjoyable cruising videos. Stay warm and safe.
We love Tony’s videos…if only we had his voice 😉
@@mvfreedom I find Liz's voice equally pleasing to Tony.
@@mvfreedom I also like Sue Grant from Berthon International. Keep the videos coming.
Loved this video. Too short though. 😊
You got it! Great photos, especially the drones or did you have a friendly helio. Been there, did that. Wonderful narration. Keep it up.
We are very new to your channel Although for the last week I cannot stop watching your videos. Getting caught up from the beginning of journey too late.
Excellent videos please keep them coming. So nice to see a happy classy couple making beautiful videos.
Awesome! I trucked the Pacific Northwest for fifteen years and I could only endure that because of the scenery and occasional mini-adventures I experienced; I'd like to explore the west coast and beyond in an explorer like you guys are doing!
Awesome! Your commentary/facts are top notch!
Agreed, I subscribe to 110 UA-cam for aviation & boating. The narration and storytelling are the best. I hope academic institutions are using these videos as positive examples🙂.
Bridge clearances are marked on the chart and in Canada are measured from Higher High Water Large Tide (in meters). So you never have less clearance than what is marked on the chart.
Nice bit of winter cruising, great episode.
Great video, Indian Arm is near my house. Sail, power, paddle, nearby hiking...super spot, very thankful to have it nearby. You can have the bridge raised, hail CN Rail Bridge on 12; they usually lift in a few minutes if no train. If a train is coming, they'll tell you 10 mins or whatever.
I just watched a documentary. Beautiful.
Used to live in Deep Cove so it was great to see the old stomping grounds. Thanks for the trip down memory lane
Beautiful locations! Keep making the videos!
The bridge heights are on paper charts, which every boater should carry on board. I believe it is still the law.
It might once have been but it’s not the law now.
Elizabeth, Your videos and narration are additive, such amazing destinations. I wonder how many hours you put on the engine annually? Safe travels
You guys seem like you're having so much fun these days. Great to see! Just keep on having fun.
Oh, I forgot to say beautiful video and video editing. Stunning views.
try dipping into Lake Tahoe in February! I did that! Once! That was enough for this lifetime. Nothing else to prove.
Love Granville.
Beautyful......greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you! I grew up in North Vancouver, my sister still lives there along the inlet. Moving back some day soon. Indian Arm and Deep Cove are a couple gems for sure. Hope you got donuts they are the bomb too. Thanks again!
We almost got donuts but decided to “stay strong” and not blow the calorie budget for the day 😉
@@mvfreedom With that hike? I'd say you guys can both afford it ;)
Thank You love what you do!!!!😀
Thanks for the information. I have sailed this area many times with the RCN, however I did not know about the power plants. Love your videos. Living my dream through your eyes. Many thanks. Bravo Zulu. Cheers.
There used to be a tv show filmed in deep cove called danger bay back in the late 70s or early 80s.
Now that your up north that far and like water falls don't forget Chatterbox Falls up Princess Louisa Inlet. Watch the tide going in.
Stay tuned for Princess Louisa and more great places!
Wow! That was so awesome the video you captured going under the bridge - GreatJob!
Also, what beautiful weather and the scenery was just stunning.
PeaceAndLove
Lori
Thank you guys for Indian Arm...
Awesome I’ve been there quite a few times my sister belong to the Vancouver yacht club, thanks for bringing back great memories.
I grew up on Indian Arm while visiting the WigWam Inn (even when we were allowed). Beautiful place
excellent video nice views and interesting information about the area thank you
NICE CRUISE UP THE ARM AND GREAT SCENERY AND HISTORY. ENJOYED IT.
That was a view.
Next week’s views are even better!
Dear Elizabeth and Shawn, I have been following you from the Netherlands for quite some time. I enjoy every vlog. They look beautiful. Again this one. What an incredibly beautiful environment. Know how much work it takes to do this over and over again. That's why I wanted to get rid of this. Thanks!! greetings William
I'm so glad I found your channel because I follow a crap-ton of sailing channels, it's nice to find an excellent power vessel channel. Keep up to videos for at least my pleasure...😬
Another awesome and super interesting video! Thanks so much for sharing!😊
As you say, the cruising in the Northwest is some of the best in the world. This was a wonderful video and full of information
Good Cruise!! Liked it. Way to make the best of a cool few days. I like that you made the most of it for water too. Good Job. Take care.
Thanks for all of your great content. I am working up my summer Canadian cruising plans and your travels are working their way into my plans.
Indian Arm is definitely beautiful. I visited during summer and it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. I love your video! Happy new year!
Glad to see some videos in BC! We scratched the surface with Vancouver and Desolation Sound last summer but know we have so much more to see!
-Ark Angel, Lake Union
Great shots!
You make very professional videos. Great 👍
Love your videos. The drone video of your boat is very cool. You guys are living the life. I'm very jealous. Pat in Central California.
Nice place looking like Norway a little bit
You make excellent content and I've followed your channel for a few years. This is the one instance I felt a need to respond to your references to Europeans in this region. Please be considerate to the millions of victims who died at the hands of the invaders here, and many who continued to live under some form of oppression, despite a presence here for millenniums.
Dbl. thumbs up. Just beautiful; and informative to boot :)
Indian arm is very scenic it looks like a fiord you would see in Norway.
Have not seen one of your vlogs in quite some time. The progress you have made in videography, sound, writing, etc. is impressive. Kudos to the both of you ... well done.
What a fabulous area. Thanks for taking us along!
Beautiful scenery 😯
Once again love the videos❤ we just need to go boating more so many things to go see.
Exactly!
Thank you for sharing.I love all you share :)
Your channel popped up so gave it a watch and low and beyond in one shot I see my dad’s boat. New subscriber now
Just a heads up that Quarry Rock is officially closed to tourists to let the trail recover - the signs sometimes get removed by anarchic mountain bikers so its not surprising you didn't see them, but perhaps you could just add a line to your posting advising people NOT to try the Quarry Rock trail at the moment. Thanks!
