Sierra’s joy and enthusiasm is so sincere it brought tears to my eyes. Incredible.
I try to be envious of no man but I have certainly fallen short here... Bravo
The dog 🐶 is sooo cute! I love Billy and his kind nature. I love Sierra's voice and her soft character. This is such a perfect set of people with a lovely dog 🐕
A couple equally adventurous and equally willing to sacrifice and labor to achieve the next adventure is not only beautiful to watch but extremely rare. The fact that you found each other is a miracle. Most people are, myself included, fortunate to find a genuine good loving companion, but lacking the constant calls to explore. I hope you both thank the forces that be for guiding one another to each other. I haven't watched a video in a while. Honestly, I think since y'all were on the trawler in Fla. Tula? I am happy to see life is providing the means to continue smiling instead of life eventually putting out the youthful fire inside. I was fortunate enough to travel from 18 to 29 before starting a family. Including a trip up the inside passage from Seattle to Sitka on a commercial salmon trawler. Basically got paid to explore sunny southeast. That was actually my last real seat of my pants, no specific plans adventure. Took a bus from Fla to Seattle and somehow got on a salmon boat with no experience. That's unheard of. It was a blast. I hope you both continue this until you decide to finish, whenever that may be. Cheers, family man in Florida.
Love your comment "if we'd have waited for all that stuff we'd have never ben here" Like my Snowmobile Buddy always says, "if we wait for the weather, we'll wait forever" Enjoy your West Coast Canada visit and Welcome to Canada!
That was the coolest spot ever. Thank you for that. God Bless you two! Wait Three!! Sorry.
One of the most beautiful cruising areas in the world. Great to see it with you.
I love how these two allow the boat and the adventure to be the focus/star of the episodes but we end up loving them as a loving couple. I hope these two realize they have something special
Greetings from BC. Do this kind of boating all the time. Here’s a tip- pay for the floating rope for your shore tie. Loop it to something on shore like a tree. Lots of the spots up there have steel rings on the rock. Yes even that remote. Single point is fine. When you’re done you should be able to untie from your boat and pull it all in from that same spot, with no need to go to shore when you leave. Then all you need to do is break your anchor and you’re golden.
Beautiful !!!! And so are you guys.
It's like watching a Sir David Attenborough documentary on National Geographic or so, you guys rock!
Mamma bear with triplets! That’s amazing. 🤎🤎🤎
You guys are rockstars! The passion, hard work and excitement is palpable to the viewers. The scenery all around you guys ain’t bad either, eh?
Wow! I’ve watch you two from the days of pulling a whaler behind your smaller trawler. Amazing, inspiring, courageous, and down-right bad-ass! The definition of a class act. Thank You❤❤❤
you definitely should be sponsored for "Tourism Canada". stunning
The best way to see it? You guys are the ultimate way to see and live it all!!! Perfect boat for those areas, so blessed 🎉❤
Tula: Greetings from Alberta Canada. Just amazing work on your $1 Trawler looks like a million bucks all the endless sanding and painting and pristine engine room well done.
So glad you finally found your bears. Great you enjoyed your visit please come back anytime. Safe travels on your way back south it will be sad to see the trawler sell. But what a perfect project while you wait for the cat delivery. See you next week.
I'm still blown away by the beautiful results of your year-long restoration.
Tidal differences are amazing 😮… still so beautiful
Ingenious tie off in the cove.
Remember, if the bears start chasing you, you don't have to run faster than the bear. Just faster than the person you are with.
That was beautiful ! Congratulations!
Wow those bears were awesome…good luck with the sale and can’t wait for the continued adventures 🤗
Love your boat! Be careful, treacherous water and hazards! Enjoy!
So happy to see how much you enjoyed my home turf
😊
Thank you for sharing and showing off our beautiful coast. Glad you enjoyed it.
What a specular experience! mama bear and her cubs 🐻🐻🐻 !! yalls faces say it all 😁
What a adventure!
Yes! Your sweat equity truly paid off!!
You guys are really awesome
I love the energy and courage to adventure
Great inspiration!!!
Adapt and overcome. With a smile. I love it.
Astounded you don't have a depth sounder when in unfamiliar waters, they are not expensive or difficult to install. You are brave!
We met you guy up in desolation sound we where in the small 22 ft sail boat the viento. Been a fan of the channel ever since
A kind suggestion and a must have:
Don & Reanne Douglass
“Exploring the West Coast of British Columbia “
This guide is a must have as depths in a lot of these inlets can reach depths of up to 1200 ft within a boat’s length from the shore. Also the tides around here can produce extreme currents and in some places rapids. Knowing this and along with the willewa’s there is a lot to know here to stay safe. ☮️
Looks like fun! Sow griz with triplets is a sign of avery good habitat.
Well 6done guys, Ute showed the way! Can’t wait to get up there, sometime?
Amazing! All of it. 👍
I would never thought you would sell the boat that fast after all the work you all put into it.. I thought you would enjoy the boat for a few years first... But at least you saved the boat and gave it a new life...
Without a doubt this is my favorite channel. You guys are grea!!
Welcome to the pacific rain north wet west windy. We for the most part get that weather from AK. It is so cute to see people see things that are normal for me.
Happy Friday everyone!
Tony & Susan here, Fun video , too cute
Guys, You can buy a $40 to $100 fish locator/depth finder and use it when not going full speed by mounting the transducer on a tube that you can lash or clamp to the rail. There are alkaline battery and 12v options.
What oh my goodness what about the videos if you sell it are you getting a new boat so that the adventures continue I love watching
Y'all should be proud! Seriously! Amazing to have reconditioned Mountain Mist.
Breath taking Beauty and Adventure....Thank you. Wish you'd keep Trawler, though😢. Best to you sailing forward.
Another great adventure. 👍 keep it up. I can't wait for the new cat and the next chapter.
Incredible scenery. Thank you for sharing.
This was special - I’m talking top 5 of your episodes ... would love to see the cutting room floor videos linked up in longer episode - Enjoy the Day !!!
Great times guys !!
Your new boat ready heard your selling the trawler?
Wow what an adventure. Congrats the hard work has paid off. I bet it would be sad to sell the boat that brought so much to y'all.
So awesome.
Very cool!
my favorite word... FREEDOM!!!
Now imagine if Covid never pushed your delivery date back for your new Cat. You’d of never had this whole experience! Strange of sometimes great things come from a bad circumstance. I enjoy the content, so I’m glad you got to experience it all. Hopefully one day I will as well!
Your dog is such a great watchdog!
Great video thank you both
Great content on the willderness
Thanks guys, GOOOOOO JETTY GIRL.👍🏻👍🏻💕💓🐾🦴
No words - this is all just breathtaking!! xo
I F'n love this channel. Best thing is Sierra isn't used as click bait in bikini's to get views. We travel vicariously through you two. Thank you.
Excellent.
It sure is beautiful there. It's like your in a whole new world. I seen other u-tubers travel through Canada. But never anyone in a boat. Great job captureing all that beauty guys. Oh I love the drone shots too 😊
Seeing mama bear with her cubs was awesome. That's just one bear I wouldn't want to run into 😆
Living the dream, love it.
I have cruised that area with a marginal depth sound. We just used a sounding line which is just a thin line with the weight on the end and I’m not tired every 6 feet to a great way to tell how deep you are. That’s exactly how they all ships used to do it.
Wow, wow, wow!!! The wild west adventure of a lifetime. We have loves our trips to BC, but this really tops it, you guys. So proud of all you've accomplished - just amazing!!!❤
Well said
Thanks for tanking us along. Good luck on the sale of that yacht that you guys gave a second life. Hope it finds are caring owner as you are.
Great video!!
Wow u three, I'm in tears of joy, watching this special incredible adventure of a lifetime, ur lifetime. The beautiful smiles on ur faces were reward enough for me. Well done and always remember u did it yourselves what an achievement. Im sure Mountain Mist is already sold, she's a credit to u both and as I've said a Grand ole Lady. 💙💜
Just amazing! I love it!
Awesome video guys!!!!
hi my name is Gracie and my sisters name is Evelyn we loved your video thank you .
Living a dream. Great job you guys.
What a lovely place. I am not really into those Arctic waters at all, but it sure is beautiful. You could buy a handheld depth meter, as the ones divers use. SV Delos used such a thing for years, actually going ahead in the dinghy often, before they sailed into very shallow places, and they cost very little. Probably not much more, than you would burn off in diesel in that boat in a couple of days anyway, just to get some perspective.
I have been following you guys since the beginning, that was one of the best ones yet.....besides your wedding, that I watched live..:)
Congrats on having the adventure of a lifetime. The scenery kept reminding me of Norwegian fiords.
I am totally enjoying your North West Adventure. One thing most don't know is that submarines use some of the deeper and wider fiords for training. Be careful what ya fish for. LOL I know you guys like to hike so here is a life and death warning. NEVER hike up a draw or stream on the mountains. They seem like an easy path at salt water, but they turn steep and deadly the further up U go. If you do happen to make it up to a muskeg... walk where the bear path is (if you see brown foot prints going across a muskeg that is centuries of bears putting their feet in the same spots to traverse the water logged sphagnum sponge) or better yet skirt around them. They can be as treacherous as glaciers. Remember, be cautious when returning to the boat. EVERYTHING swims and climbs! Oh and those were COYs (cubs of the year) with the Sow (mommy brown, not Grizzly.. Griz are inland, browns are coastal). Ya don't want to sound like a flat lander from the lower forty eight. 🙃😋
Hey you two. Have been watching you both since the very beginning. Congratulations on heading up Bute. It is our favourite place in Desolation Sound. Like you we found it difficult to get an anchor set between the very north end and the entrance. Great holding at the top of Bute with lots to explore and totally isolated.
We will be going back.
Admire your adventurous personalities and drive.
The outflow winds and weather up Bute inlet can be pretty fierce. Pretty special spot with not many places to hide.
GOOD JOB
Fantastic scenes. Thanks for sharing. Just can't believe your selling your boat so soon?
What an adventure!
Hello from southern Indiana USA!! I totally love watching your channel. Its a joy to see your experiences for every new firsts that you have, they are great!
I've been up that channel once before. It's a very nice place.
Perfect shock, she for sale? After all that work extended! Best in your future, AWESOME photography and editing. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic amazing journey and what a boat. Sorry to see your adventures end on it.
The switch by the door was so you could turn on a light when entering a dark boat.
I just love how adventurous and brave you both are. Loved this adventure! Be safe!
You guys seem to have maybe found a new home. I’ve never seen you guys smile bigger.
Ok, to be fair, no radar is doable, but in the Pacific Northwest, you REALLY need a depth finder. Rocks can spire up from depth and you won't know w/o a depth finder. You can get by with a relatively inexpensive easy mount fish finder as well, but a dedicated depth finder would be the best option. Other than that, awesome video, and welcome to the PNW, land of liquid sunshine.
It has been beautiful I hoped y’all would have sailed her all the way to Florida through the Northern passage and back down. But I understand
Does Jetty have a brush ? It would be cool if she had a Manuel treadmill that could roll up the anchor line on a drum when she runs on the treadmill. LOL 😂 👍🙏😎✌️
Truly Badass! Mark Twain. And his name was Sammel Clemmons, and he wrote The adventures of Tom Sawyer. Feel really stupid telling you this, but Mark the twain was how they knew the depth of the water in the Mississippi river. A weight an a rope will tell the depth. And how much for the boat?
That is so awesome. Y'all are awesome. Good for you guys how cool❤❤
Really enjoying watching you two have so much fun! The views are just amazing too!
Great video. You both are so inspiring. Thank you so much for always making quality content that never fails to motivate me toward my dream of sailing the world.
I live within half a day's slow sail of Desolation Sound.
If you want to cruise in this part of the world, you need some accurate means of measuring water depth to at least 10m or thirty feet. YOU DON'T NEED A DEPTH SOUNDER. You do need something that will serve as a lead line. A large shackle tied to a length of cord will do fine until you can get a proper sounding lead. Total cost is nil, and having it may save your vessel and even conceivably your life.
Stitch bits of marline or seine twine into the line at 1 metre intervals. (Except in the US, chart depths around the world are marked in metres.) Toss it over the side and feed out the line, feeling the weight pulling it down. You'll feel when it stops pulling. If in doubt, bounce it a bit. Now retrieve the line, counting the marks as you go.
How hard was that? Now you accurately know the depth of water at a given position and time.
So inspiring. There is a cheap grand banks in Victoria tempting me to follow your example. Seeing you hoisting the old anchor with that huge rock on your finger reminds me of when my wife’s stone fell out of her ring and was miraculously found digging through the garbage. 😅
You can get a portable depth sounder for about $30. Look for a fish finder. They also display depth.
Awesome video as always guys, Thats some gorgeous places yall got to experience this trip!!! Take care and enjoy till next week!!!!
I thought you guys went to Yellowstone and saw bears 🐻 🐻❄
Hi, I noticed your anchor is equipped with a snatch line hole . It would be a really good idea to use it. If you get hooked into a rock , your loose your anchor. So please put a shackle through hole and run a line with Chain . Zip tie to anchor chain or run a coil on deck . If you get stuck ,then run out chain , run round back of anchor and pull on rope ,snapping the zip ties and allowing you to pull anchor backwards to release it . Hope this is useful to you.
