This video sheds light on a major issue with Walmart's practices and brings attention to the impact it has on both employees and customers. It's important for large corporations to be held accountable for their actions and for consumers to make informed decisions about where they choose to shop. Thank you for sharing this informative and thought-provoking video, penguinz0.
You have it bass as backwards my guy. It's not up to Walmart, Amazon, ETSY to vet Trademark claims before a new ASIN is created on Amazon for example. Anyone can sell on these platforms if yea have a TAX ID and business license. It's up to the registered trademark owner to defend it's trademark. A simple form sent to any platform with a your registered TESS number will get the listing removed.
I work at a distribution center for Walmart. I recently found out that some of the pallets I ship to the store sometimes sit, still wrapped, at the stores because the employees choose to let it expire instead of stocking shelves. Because it's easier to chuck the whole thing out rather than stock shelves.
@@fenrirgg if its food in theory they would have to. Tho i saw another comment say they sold 2019 expiration date kitkats for years so prehaps it is still food. Lol gross if so
Walmarts stores are one thing, but pretty much anyone can sell anything on their website. The makeup company I used to work for, that only sells their stuff on their own website and prohibits resale, has found a bunch of resellers selling their stuff illegitimately through Walmart. Their site is honestly pretty sketchy for that.
Not to mention exploiting their employees by paying them just little enough that they have to be on food stamps. That they will inevitably use at Walmart. It's like being payed in company tokens in the 1800's 😂
This isn’t true. 😅 Walmart pays 15.00 across the USA now for starting positions. Some non managerial positions are 17-18. As a Walmart employee; I make too much money for food stamps as the limits are way below that. Those who make 15 that are full time make 2600 before taxes (that’s how government assistance assesses your pay.) and the limits for families are below that. Usually between 1900-2200. Part timers usually average 30-32 hours a week which still puts them over the limits at 2080 a month unless they’re working less hours but let’s be real. What person is surviving on part time hours/income if they’re providing for themselves without additional income from roommates etc? Yes, there are people who work at Walmart on government assistance, for sure, but Walmart does pay above usual entry level pay across the USA while also providing 401ks, life, medical, and other insurances (pretty low cost too), yearly bonuses, etc it’s not as bad as people make it look. It’s the actual people running the stores that you got shake your fist at . Oof Mngment can be yikes
@@BN-hp8umNah, they need to raise that shit to 20 now. Every major corporation has been stagnating the wages of their employees for the 30-40 years. The cost of living has gone up exponentially since 15 dollars was the talking point, it needs to be way higher now.
What actually happens more often for me is I get pissed off that knock off car parts are listed there too that are never the right ones and always come up before the actual correct parts I’m looking for on reputable manufacturers sites
i collect squishmallows and i’m very familiar with walmart’s third party sellers. they let third party sellers sell online which are usually straight up scams just like amazon. the only way to know you’re getting a real product is by filtering by supplier to only see products sold by walmart. i’m so sorry this happened charlie this is fucked.
Yeah, I fucking hate their 3rd party sellers. That's how I got cereal straws, and the Froot Loops ones I got came in completely destroyed. Still edible, but destroyed nonetheless.
@@justicemarie7403 The fucked up part is that those scammers can basically do this stuff freely. Even if they get caught and shut down, theres not really much preventing them from making another account if they don't already have another 10 waiting.
Walmart also has been known to lock employees in and force them to work overtime without pay. Also, many Walmarts don’t have AEDs which has led to preventable deaths.
I've seen a fist fight at Walmart that would easily rival a Waffle House brawl. It was extremely entertaining to view that spectacle, plus one of the combatants got smashed in the face with a box of cereal that exploded on impact. Pure beauty.

There really is no vetting of 3rd party sellers on Walmart's site and I honestly hate that they even have 3rd party sellers and they really don't even talk about it so most people don't realize. They sell so many knock off products.
I went to walmart yesterday, and they had 2 registers open in a very busy time of day, the self checkouts was either card only or broken, they have barely any selection when it comes to the cool stuff like electronics, games, toys, etc. at least in my area it's like that

Things sold by Walmart (online and in stores) are vetted and approved by Walmart. However, there's a bunch of unvetted third party sellers on their website. If you're ordering online, be careful of the third party sellers since some of them just drop ship really poor quality products.
This triggered a flashback to my high-school world cultures teacher who vehemently hated Walmart. He once told us a story of something about a TV company in the USA trying to make USA TVs and attempted to sue China for trying to dominate the market or something with TV sales, threatening to put them out of business. Walmart sided with China and put almost all USA companies making electronics out of business. Dude when on a 45 min rant about the "scum of Walmart" and how he never buys from there because of their corporate greed. It was wild to listen to.
Its not difficult to get into walmart because of a vetting process, its difficult because they want you to sell your product for less than everywhere else and if you wont sell for walmarts low prices they wont accept you
Yeah exactly. Same with Amazon’s “born to run/sprint” program. There’s a reason why very small re-sellers try to stick exclusively to eBay, D2C, etc. Amazon and Walmart can survive on a 1% margin cause they generate hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue a year. A small shop owner can’t.
The thing about Walmart, Charlie, is that they don't care what is put on their website as long as they get a cut. What's sold in their stores, however, that's where the real money usually comes in.
@@welcmasher2471 Walmart is also self-serving and doesn't give a damn about their employees either. My cousin was treated like absolute shit when she worked for Walmart and she even said their employee benefits were non-existent.
I hope Charlie has his attorneys hit Walmart with a cease & desist letter and specifically mention the Google search results. I had no idea how much of a financial hit you're taking. I hope you're able to pursue this. This is why Trademark & Intellectual Property laws exist 🙂 WM is a publicly traded company. The PR about them stealing an individual UA-camrs TM is dangerous for them especially with how they prosecute petty shoplifting.
It’s not Walmart doing it though. Walmart’s website is the same as Amazon now, and this shit has been happening on Amazon/eBay for years. It’s a private seller just using Walmart as a medium to sell. He just needs to go after that company, which when you click on the Merch it says who that is.
If Walmart is making money of someone else's brand then they owe them money. No amount of oHnOcHiNaEvIL changes the fact that Walmart is selling a brand they have no rights to.
I work at a fortune 50 retailer and often times companies of Walmart’s scale will work with manufacturers that produce the majority of a specific good for many competing brands worldwide. These producers will submit designs to merchants if they believe a design can sell in a market. Depending on the size of the factory you worked with to create the hoodies and whatever was outlined in your contract with them, it could be possible that the manufacturer itself submitted a modified version of your clothing to Walmart and it was missed as being a knockoff.
It’s funny how charlie just made a video about all these brands not wanting to associate with him and then out of the blue Walmart comes and steals his brand
so true. it's a sin worse than any other to mistreat workers at any establishment, Walmart is even worse because if you have an cashier that is dealing with your stupidity and dragging out the time it takes for he/she to finish the job the longer everybody has to wait for you to stop acting like an man-child or a Karen.
man, My brother used to work at walmart, And stealing from walmart was so painful for its workers, Depending on how much was stolen, They would dock their pay, Painful painful stuff
I remember watching a UA-cam video about a year or two ago about a guy who’s sister unknowingly bought fake Pokémon cards on Walmart’s website. He went down a rabbit hole where he found out Walmart made a deal with a Chinese company to help compete with Amazon and that’s why there’s fake products
As someone who used to work in a business similar to Walmart and dealt with distributors, clothing is wildly different than the other hard line items. There’s tons of companies that sell trash to business like Walmart and big lots and they already have an in, so new stuff isn’t hard to put in there. Obviously it might not be in the stores, but if it ever does it’s not that surprising
Charlie keeps us clued in on everything drama related and I appreciate it. Walmart being goofy isn't a surprise but it is crazy how seemingly easy it is to get away with scams on their website.
Walmart is basically trying to compete with Amazon by letting 3rd party vendors sell "their products" on the site for a percentage. Unless it specifically says "sold by Walmart" it's some Joe schmo doing the fake merch/products
Fun Fact: Walmart does not use .99 as a technique to disorient customers and make them believe items are cheaper than it really is. The end cap will always has the cheapest product
Walmart was selling a “25TB SSD” for 25 bucks like a couple months ago online. I swear they got the 90 year old door greeter vetting the electronics back there.
I don't think there is really any oversight of the 3rd party sellers until they get a complaint. With something like that it should be obvious to them. That would be industry leading technology selling for the price of a pretty good restaurant meal (or an appetizer in Cali or NYC).
Walmart has random vendors, they claim they are official when it is normally bootleg or knock off. Only way you are really protected is when you set it for Walmart itself or pick-up today.
You have to shop carefully on Walmart. I look for things that are only sold by Walmart themselves. I'll buy 3rd party if the price and ratings seem good enough. I got a gravity like veggie slicer that works really great! But usually 3rd party stuff is jacked up in price because it's people flipping products they bought on clearance or something on Walmart to begin with. Search under things like Mountain Dew or Pop Tarts. Read things carefully, folks! ( ◜‿◝ )♡
I got vaping pens from a Walmart 3rd party seller, straight from China which they sent by tortoise. I was surprised to find them on Walmart's site, but they work perfect, about 80% cheaper than the vape/weed stores.
What’s worse is that Walmart is pushing to automate their stores. They expect you to go through self checkout, and they also check your receipts at the door like militants. If you want me to do your job for you, don’t bother checking my receipt.
@@yababa4632 lol I can't believe you have to get receipts checked in the US, it isn't like that in Canada. It's not that it's annoying, it's just an invasion of privacy on a small degree. I wouldn't let them check my receipt if they did that in Canada.
Bro seriously we're doing the work for them at this point. Went to Sam's club and literally bought a bag of popcorn and cokes while they've got a long ass line of people to get receipts checked them they say we can go through the lady just standing there and this bitch seriously has the audacity to go back to line we just left so she could check our receipts instead. Nope I just ignore the motherfuckers checking receipts anymore because them standing there could be them checking out the people with the fuckload of shit at self checkout instead.
The fact that Charlie didn’t know that Walmart’s website, much like other online marketplaces, has 3rd party sellers that can sell whatever real or counterfeit product is unexpectedly naive of him 😂
Yeah I had the same take. I work at Walmart in Electronics, and there are countless customers that come up to me trying buy something on the app and I have to point out that the seller isn’t Walmart. Walmart is trying to directly compete with Amazon now, and I would have expected everyone to know this. Once you look at them as the same as Amazon, this whole situation really isn’t that weird anymore.

This triggered a flashback to my high-school world cultures teacher who vehemently hated Walmart. He once told us a story of something about a TV company in the USA trying to make USA TVs and attempted to sue China for trying to dominate the market or something with TV sales, threatening to put them out of business.

I work at a fortune 50 retailer and often times companies of Walmart’s scale will work with manufacturers that produce the majority of a specific good for many competing brands worldwide. These producers will submit designs to merchants if they believe a design can sell in a market.
