    Word of wisdom…. When you encounter cows, slow way down. They are very unpredictable. A friend of mine had a cow jump in front of him on one of his big adventures rides about 1999 or 2000 and is destroyed his hip. He had to get all kinds of pins and rods to repair the damage.

    Love the sound on that 990 and the wonderful mountain scenery! That pay station looks very similar to the ones at the Norwegian backcountry roads.What a perfect day, riding and then after ride with fishing at a great camp spot. Living the life guys! For how long where you out on this ride?

    How is the KTM reliability with all the electronics? Going deep in the backcountry would make me nervous wondering about all the electronics added to the these newer bikes

    • @EpicAdventuresOffroad
      @EpicAdventuresOffroad  Рік тому +1

      I haven’t had any issues with reliability at all. The battery started to die on me at one point, but I put a lithium in and it’s been solid ever since! The only thing I’ve really heard of being an issue is the fuel pump. But I always carried a spare in my saddle bags. (They’re tiny and weigh hardly anything)

      I started around the 29th of July and I think we ended on the 2-3rd of august. I know that’s way shorter than the whole BDR takes, but you’ll have to watch the next videos to figure that part out lol. Thanks for watching!

    • @EpicAdventuresOffroad
      @EpicAdventuresOffroad  2 роки тому

      We both use Sena Headsets. They’re great. We have the lower end models so the range isn’t awesome, but we ride pretty close most of the time so it’s not an issue. Battery life is great on them as well. Can usually go a day and a half before they need a charge. Camera is a GoPro hero 8 for most of my videos with a media mod for the mic plug, the BDR video was a 10 though. Audio is a purple panda mic mounted inside my helmet. Actually works really well. Thanks for watching!

    Bikes look great images are great.
    Jealous as all get out!
    BTW, you guys are from the Sacramento area correct?
    Did you truck the bikes to a start point?
    If so, is someone meeting you in Canada and hauling the bikes back or is it 2 wheels from Sac to Canada and back?
    Looking forward to the your videos!

    • @EpicAdventuresOffroad
      @EpicAdventuresOffroad  2 роки тому

      It was a pretty great trip. The scenery was absolutely stunning. And we’re somewhat near there. But we did truck the bikes to Boise and left from a friends house there. Then 2 wheels up and back down. Makes it a little easier especially considering the weather was soooo hot that whole time I was there. I was happy to be doing the drive from CA to ID in a truck. And thanks for watching! The new videos should be dropping soon.

      @@EpicAdventuresOffroad Thanks for the insight of the logistics.
      One of the challenges for me doing the BDR is the lug from SoCal (OC) to a reasonable starting point, I cringe at the thought endless pavement just to get started!

      One last question, have you considered the "forever chain" for the 1290?

      I appreciate the concern, I assure you he’s being safe. I’ve already responded to some other comments about this, but he’s a trained, professional rider, who has been riding more years than I’ve been alive. I trust him to make the decision that he deems best for the riding conditions. The video doesn’t show the whole story and how far you can actually see.

    • @EpicAdventuresOffroad
      @EpicAdventuresOffroad  2 роки тому

      He has more years riding bikes professionally than years I’ve been alive. I trust him to ride safely and make decisions quickly. Would I recommend riding side by side with someone you don’t trust? Probably not. But I completely trust him, so I’m not too worried about it.

      @twobikesandadrone 2 роки тому

      @@EpicAdventuresOffroad I hear you, and I'm not trying to be argumentative, but he sure does cut the blind corners while riding far left, which is unsettling to a new adventure rider like myself who's worst nightmare is running head-on into someone doing exactly that. Odds are pretty slim I know, but for a seasoned rider to be doing this is not good. That sure is some pretty country though and I look forward to riding it myself.
