I did the IDBDR in 2019 solo on my V strom, it's an absolutely awesome ride, I would love to do it again sometime, I also want to do some of the other BDR's. I'm up in Bonners Ferry.
Nice video! Good job. And 100% agree about the motorcycle shop. They saved my bacon with a 3000 mile Africa Twin that a Las Vegas dealer completely failed three times over two weeks to fix. They instantly knew the problem, fixed the issue of a coating inside the tank on the welds, and pulled a fuel pump from a showroom bike to get me on my way in 4 hours. Plus they gave me a loaner. Truly a great operation!
Those 990s known to eat fuel pumps. He didn’t appear too disappointed with the solution! Looking forward to more episodes as this one is on my to-do list.
Man,.... Plz more of this!!!!! These episodes are fantastic. I just did Idaho September 2020 and I was hailed on, rained on, froze my butt off, but it was so amazing! I am not going to be able to do any adventures in 2021 due to work requirements (you and Niko can relate) and so seeing these really helps me out!
Stuck in the snow here in MI in January, this series is going to be great inspiration for planning next year's rides. Your skills with the videography and storytelling have become so compelling, I was in awe of many of the scenery and riding shots-well done! (And I was shocked (!) that the KTM shed parts and died. And then he bought another one! LOL)
That is why I own a KLR650 and a 300l. Opposite ends of adventure. But both very reliable and bought both for under 10k. Awesome adventure no matter what you ride though. Beautiful scenery.
Hay, saw your sticker on the bus last week. While I was dodging forest fires. Gotta say, I have now tried for two yrs in a row to make it up Burnt Knob...you made it look so fricken easy on the AT. I was on an extremely loaded down DRZ400. And solo, so just didnt want to take the chance it wiping out and having to unload bike to pick it up. So I made sure I hit up the higher spot that sits above Elk Summit. 9058 ft. Will be creating some videos from this yrs solo ride sometime soon. But recognized your sticker right away. Meant to bring my PNW Dualsport Riders stickers and add some to it too. But forgot To bring them.
This has to be one of my favourite - if not most, bike adventure vlogs ever. You get the balance just right, with great photography, sound level and commentary. So jealous of the country n roads you have in the US. Thank you very much.
What a fantastic ride. We have absolutely nothing like that in the UK.... lots of forests and service roads, but mostly we are not allowed to ride them on motorcycles. Looking forward to Ep.2
Yes we are pretty blessed here in the US to have so much public land. Especially in the north west. If you ever make it over to this side of the pond I’d love to show you around
@@backcountryadvmoto Thanks for the offer. A trip to the US is on the bucket list, so you never know. Scotland, Norway and Iceland or on the list too :-)
Great video! I look forward to the rest of them. I went to Rawhyde last May. I did not meet Josh but ALL the cadre I did meet made everything look easy!
Nice ride and nice video guy, really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next episode. BTW Nice AfTwin sound and looks like a well put together ADV beast. Congrats
This looks awesome, just bought a dual sport for these kind of adventures. For now its too cold so I watch you have an adventure and get a list together while I drink my morning coffee.
Glad you liked it and congrats on the dual sport. Its such a great way to travel. check out episode 2 if you get a chance. Just released this morning 👍
Pretty cool to finally see the day one KTM shenanigans... and what all these roads looked like through clean air and not a thick cloud of dust 😂. Looking forward to reliving the rest of the trip!
I chuckled a bit at "Getting an early start" in Jarbidge, when it looks like about 10 AM in your shot the next day. I'm hoping to do the IDBDR myself this summer, so I look forward to your next videos.
Good stuff brother. Beautiful work you're doing. Whoever the two people are that gave this a thumbs down really need to reconsider some things in life. We are going to have to get that ride going this summer brother. Need some content/scenery like this on my channel lol!
I’m pretty sure it’s the same two trolls every time. It’s alright though you can’t make everyone happy. Plus, UA-cam sees dislikes as still being interaction, so even though these to people always dislike every video I put out, they are still helping out the channel with interactions. In turn boosting the algorithm.
Man, that wash out was over 3ft deep when I went through there last year. Hit a rock and watched my bike disappear underwater...lol Never moved so fast in my whole life.
For sure. We looked all around the area and didn’t see any signs. We actually talked to a Deputy who stopped to use the toilet and said we were far enough away to be an issue. We were a couple hundred feet front the river. Good point though to all to make sure you are following all local rules and regs. As a fellow Idahoan, I’m all about keep out state preserved.
When I went west I took hwy 2 out to Washington then 20 the rest of the way. So only saw a glimpse of Idaho. There were some loop roads in the mix but I was on a mission. This is going to be cool.👌
@@backcountryadvmoto the Moyie River Bridge and canyon😳 was something this easterner wasn't used to. All the sun scorched rocks that goes well into Washington👌
Getting rid of a faulty machine for a new machine that is of the same brand with a reputation for being unreliable doesn’t seem like the most logical route to take… *that’s a bold move, cotton!* But…pretty badass to see the dude’s level of commitment for finishing the trail.
Wow, you guys ride fast! Just flying down those smooth dirt roads. Awesome! So, I gotta ask, what happened to the broken down bike? Is it still sitting in that ranchers barn?
So what made it such a long day was that once we got to the shop which was nearly 70miles from where we left the bike, the owner let us use his shop truck to go back and get the bike. We then brought it back to the shop where we left it while we finished the BDR and over the next week they would order the part, fix the bike, and Nicco went back a few weeks later and picked the bike up and sold it. Lots of moving parts but we made it all work.
Which tires? Just purchased 2022 AT. Gravel deems squirrelly. 1) Love your stuff. 2) please addressed Co and Ut’s BDR.3) tell your sponsors they are getting their money’s worth ( from a consumer perspective) thanks for getting me hooked. Next is convincing the wife she’d love it. Jeffrey
