Great videos man, fellow Canadian here from Edmonton. We attempted IDBDR too in the beginning of July 2022 and were hit by road closures in most areas. Might attempt again this year!
Yeah I was following along on the Facebook group, waited till I knew it was all open, but had to deal with the heat as a trade off. What province do you ride out of?
Wow, nice job getting through the big creek. I went down with my V Strom last August and swamped the engine there. My first time off-road. Pretty amazing scenery, right?
@@OverPenAdventures there was confusion before this trip. We were supposed to take an easy route because of my experience. It is what it is. Just before you turn right and drop down to the creek, there was a huge dead tree that had fallen over the trail, so we had to go off road off road. Looks like it’s not there yet in this video. If you’re interested, check out one of my latest videos. I think it’s part 3 where I dunk vstrom junk lol.
the 16:00 me and my body clear it from all the big rocks on the left of it when we where crosing it it was deep and water was flawing hard in july we have to walk r bikes to cross this but it was fun good jop on rideing it
I also have a 700i Montana but haven't really learned how to use it very well. Since I do mostly solo riding down here in New Mexico, it's a tool I definitely need though. In this video, yours seems to be "calculating" a lot. Is that normal? Noticed you were using your phone toward the end of the video.
Yep it "calculated" most of the trip it was trying to go somewhere lol. It worked fine for nav as I preloaded the routes, used it for the jnreach more than nav tho
Now that looked like a whole ton-o-fun!
Similar to your big trip except that was the only day it rained...at all. Lol
Just another 6 days to edit...you know how it is
@@OverPenAdventures 😜🤪
Captain Danger man... Some beautiful views in this one
Nice ride and great views. Yeah I’m always thinking I’m going to end up in a gully lol. 😅
Thanks man!
Epic ride! Watching this makes me want to go there ASAP! :)
It's awesome! Not the most technically challenging route but the views....they are always good!

@@OverPenAdventures It was quite hot in the beginning of July too. We crossed border from Creston BC, you?
@@sameermoto yeah I'm on Vancouver Island, I did the WABDR first so I crossed at nighthawk. Did a few videos from that one as well.

@@MrTmax74 will do, yeah there was no tree down, this was filmed like august 5th maybe?
Great opening, great music. We don’t get that in the uk
Thanks man!
Rode the BDR in early sept. Friggin hot but beautiful!
Yeah it was a hot summer. This was around August 10th or so.
16:05 When I ride the IDBDR, I'm going to skip the creek crossing section and do the bypass.
I recommend doing the crossing, you miss out on one of the nicer ridgelines if you bypass
🤘 good road,

Yeah I've seen early season it flows pretty good. Not too bad early August when we went through

Making me want a new bike OP
Just wait at all intersections
In an ideal world sure, but there are thousands of them not much fun stopping every 100 feet.
