Pro tip bro, your gonna want to always add a barrel swivel when fishing all inline spinner style lures! This prevents line twists and knots and you will get 100% advertised action out of your lures! Alot more flashing and movement, more bites! Been following your channel for a while now, you still own my dream exploration vehicle/setup! Awesome! Thx for the new vid!

With truck and camper in this configuration. Do you use the truck for anything else? Or is it strictly overlanding / hunting / fishing? I am trying to figure out my 3rd gen.
Definitely makes things more challenging, but I use this truck for literally everything, I tow trailers for work constantly, I commute with it, etc… the only thing it really changed for me was that I use a trailer for most things now, but that doesn’t bother me too much.
I was up there day before yesterday hardly anyone there, roads were really rough getting in but I was towing a modified off-road teardrop trailer found a couple awesome camp spots came in on Bowman Road to the lake and did the entire loop came out on 89 it was beautiful up there, I can’t believe you saw a minivan up there that’s crazy!! thanks for the awesome video👍👍👍👍

I was there with my young son around that time, ive never seen it so busy. Barley got a spot took the last one at the end of the road at sawmill. Asians singing drunk karaoke all night on a speaker. Was the weekend of July 21st which was my birthday. I overland my ram to love it. Were you walked up the hill to the top of the hill thats were we stayed. If you're looking at the fire pit towards the lake there is a Rocky hill that goes down to a little cove of the lake my son and I went down there and got tore up by hornets that came out of the side of the hill by the hundreds. All of a sudden i heard a buzzing noise and my son was basically cussing because he had been stung. Once i realized what was happening and sall the hornets coming out of the hill. I yelled at him to run and i was pushing his butt up the hill while they were tagging me in the back. They got him right under the eye and in the leg. I was extremely worried because he had never been stung before and swole up pretty good. As you know that spot is at least an hour away from the freeway and i was worried he could go into anaphylactic shock. One of our scariest moments in the hills. He swole up a bit but i kept a very close eye on him.
Nice video. Ever want another to join your camp let me know I’m always looking for a chance to get out. I’m about an hour from that area. I’ve got a 07 G56 truck. But prefer my Jeep for trails.

I haven't tried that. It's a little more involved on one of these bigger trucks than it is on a jeep. would be nice to see how it reacts though. Might have to give it a shot sometime. Thanks for watching!

I know, super frustrating. The info about it being closed for 4 years was the information that the gate "guard/attendant" gave me. There's a possibility that he doesn't know all the info, but the dam rebuild project is going to take 4 years and he said it will be closed for the duration.

I didn't see anything about catch and release only in the regulations. But here is a website that shows all of the lakes in the area, so if you click on whatever lake you're planning to fish, you should see the regulations for that lake. apps.wildlife.ca.gov/sportfishingregs/
How did OnX not know about a government closure on their maps? Happened to us during filming our Divergent Pathways series and we actually had an OnX employee with us lol
