- I took a trip in May of this year that changed my life. I went to the to the Owyhee Canyonlands of Oregon to spend a few days Overlanding this area. I packed up the Bronco and hit the road for what would end up being the trip of a lifetime.
Here I saw Succor Creek, Leslie Gulch, Juniper Gulch, Birch Creek Ranch, a hot springs, and so much more! Join me for the full length version of this incredible trip!

There's something magical about offroading, and this video has bottled that magic.
That’s an incredible compliment, thank you so much!
We all can agree that UA-cam content now completely outrun TV content, right? Thanks for this amazing work!! 🙏
Agreed!
“I’m not a horse guy”
But he’s a bronco guy 😂
Kinda cool how the horses joined the bronco.
I like thing named after horses lol
Hahahaha
Thanks for pointing out the trash left behind by previous tenants. Took my son on an adventure last week. First camp we found a bucket with feces and soiled toilet paper stashed behind a large rock. Absolute pigs need to stick with San Francisco’s style camping. We don’t need that in the wilderness. Reluctantly packed it on the way out in the bed of my truck, rubber gloves and a bandanna over my nose. Tossed it in a dumpster when I got back to town. I’m losing faith in humanity.
Oh man, that’s so unfortunate. Thank you for cleaning that up although you obviously should not be left to do that.
Loved this comment right here !
So many spots near me closed down for reasons like this, just sad to see that grown people can’t even take after their selves .
Honestly, the bucket is worse than the feces, at least one is decomposable.
once some hunters threw some bullets in the fire pit, would go off all of the sudden
Brother, how and why you get out in this video is exactly why I overland as well. I dig your style of no pretentiousness, no forced images of macho rock climbing. Which to me isn't the true beauty and soulful purpose of overlanding. In addition, you do a great job with camera shots and narration. This video of yours is by far of all the folks I folllow.
Its trippy to see our hunting roads as somthing people will drive hundreds of miles to come and enjoy. This video is a great reminder to stop and take a breath to enjoy the beauty around you.
This is such a stunning area. I’d be hard pressed to focus on a hunt here. But then again, I didn’t grow up here. Jealous you get to see it more often
Watching these types of journeys brings me joy. Thank you!
So glad! You’re welcome
Your cinematography is really spot on. A blend of great narration, captured speaking, and near ASMR shots with natural sounds is truly a treat to take in. Your aesthetic is dialed in, and your heart for the craft within the overloading world can not be missed. Keep it up, we will be watching.
This is truly amazing feedback to receive. Thank you so much for taking the time to share. I definitely will keep this type of content coming!
Man I envy you guys out west. With what I’ve seen of Colorado, Oregon, and Wyoming with the amazing vistas and wide open spaces and trails to explore I would be gone every weekend.
We are extremely lucky out here to have access to the land we do, I can’t deny that
I would too!! Where in Colorado have you gone?
The rock formations were like something out of the Avatar movies, truly breathtaking.
They are so difficult to even comprehend seeing it in person. It’s wild
The amount of efforts put into filming this are unmatched !
This overlanding trip was absolutely epic! The landscapes, the challenges, and the freedom of the open road all came together in such an inspiring way. Watching this felt like an escape into the wild. I’m ready to start planning my own adventure now!
Exploring the Oregon Owyhee Canyonlands in a Bronco sounds like an amazing adventure! The Canyonlands offer such a diverse and stunning landscape, perfect for overlanding. The sense of freedom and connection with nature you get when you're out there, navigating through those beautiful terrains, must be incredible. Oregon's natural beauty is truly a gem for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy your journey and the unique experiences that come with such an exploration! 🏞🚙✨
Coming from someone who lives in Utah… this is first place on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing 🤘⛰️
I used to drive truck in the oil patch in northern Alberta, Canada and let me tell you....the mud was NEXT LEVEL. It's no joke being stranded out in the middle of nowhere because the road is impassible due to mud. I was also amazed at just how quickly it all dried out when the weather turned better. The roads can go from an absolute nightmare to just fine in a matter of hours.
G'day from Oz!
Stumbled across the channel today and wow, the Owyhee area looks simple stunning. Added to the bucket list...
The fire pit scene.
YES!
Can not fathom how people seem to believe fire will 'delete' their steel or aluminium cans from the environment. This is one thing I'm passing on to my son, ALWAYS leave a campsite cleaner than you found it.
Hey mate! Talk about bucket list, I need to get to your area! But yeah the owyhees are just magical
I don’t know why it’s a hard concept and why people seem to struggle with it. But I hope I can help people realize the importance of it
@offthegrind this is the first hour long video I have watched that I didn't skip through. You have a talent kid, you are an excellent videographer. This is now on my list as soon as spring hits. Not a bad drive from the Portland area. Great video! Thank you for putting this together
Thank you so much for this comment! This is so motivating for me. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I will definitely keep it coming
@@OFFTHEGRIND seriously, I didn’t want to turn it off. Great work man.
You saved me from camping in the wrong place.
Thank you for the video.
That area is so beautiful.
Now I knows where to take my family next year.
You guys will love it! I can’t wait to take my son
This video perfectly tells why I LOVE living in washington, I've got the cascades immediately to my east and Oregon landscapes to my south and Canadian to my north plenty of solid surf to my west. There is seriously no shortage of breath taking views that genuinely leave me dumbfounded and speechless. It is truly and blessing and a curse to be so gifted to live in the areas I do. Granted there are less than desirable qualities and political issues in my local area, but the landscapes are worth fighting for.
So true! It’s awesome to have so much beauty so close to home. I get comments often telling me how jealous people are that are on the east coast. I do no take living here for granted
And plenty of wildfire smoke each summer
Thanks for the message to help keep the backcountry clean of litter!
Great video! The natural landscapes in the United States are truly breathtaking. I hope to explore them one day as well. Thank you for capturing such beautiful scenes. Greetings from Taiwan, and I'm a fan of BRONCO.
the view is just wow
The intro was felt deeply. Been feeling that way recently and took in overlanding the past year for another path out. The profound help it has made, to get out and explore the unknown, and have that exhilarating feeling again has set well with breaking up the mentality of the day to day routine we all fall into.
The power of simply disconnecting for a bit is immense. Combine that with fresh air and beautiful views, and I’ve never gone back to work more refreshed. Overlanding has changed my life, as it sounds like it has yours as well. That quote I shared hit me hard and I live my life based on it now
I love that place. My kids grew up playing in that hot spring. I’ve been going there for close to 25 years. I was there just three days ago. I recognized every spot you were at. It’s my backyard for the past 40 years. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It is magical.
It truly is magical. I’ve tried to recreate this trip in other areas but nothing holds up. It’s incredible and I’m SOO jealous you live so close!!
It truly is magical. I’ve tried to recreate this trip in other areas but nothing holds up. It’s incredible and I’m SOO jealous you live so close!!
Thanks for all the work you put into this! As a father/husband, I've always wanted to do trips like this but have thought it wasn't worth trying sicne I have a family at home. But I'm realizing more and more it's important to have some time to yourself and out alone for some good mental decompression (even for just a weekend once in a while). Keep it up! Awesome job.
That time solo is so important man. I’ve also found that I’m far more engaged and present with my family when I am around if I give myself that time alone to recharge
heavy respect after seeing you clear the campfire trash!
Just ran across this Video and I will be adding this area to my places to go list, thank you for sharing!🚙
I have always wanted to off road and this video only makes me want to do this even more one day....
The beginning of this video really gave me goose bumps and chills.. so relatable.
Thank you so much for cleaning up the trash left by other bad campers! It's so disappointing to see people who go out in nature and just leave their trash behind cuz they can't be bothered to pick up after themselves.
I live in the treasure valley and recently made it back to Leslie Gulch when there was still snow everywhere. The trip made for some absolutely stunning pictures!
Badass video sir! Some of those are my favorite places on earth! I've been to all of them except for the last two. You're drone POV's make it incredible to watch! Thanks for sharing!
Man that cooking scene followed by these ultra cinematic shots after dumping your veggies all over your stove was hilarious
That's how I do
This is a great advertisement for the Bronco. Now I want one!! Lol.
It’s interesting how variety really is the spice of life. I live in southern Utah, and huge red rocks and canyons are old hat for me. But forests are my novelty. I feel the same way in forests that you did here.
It’s always good to explore the unfamiliar.
There's something magical and relaxing the way you make this video I enjoyed this video very much thank you.....
Absolutely enchanted by this adventure,. The vehicle, environment, filmmaking and storytelling is just outstanding. Really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing this journey with everyone. Truly breathtaking scenery, and as someone from the east coast that landscape is totally foreign to me. Even though I just watched this in my bedroom while putting away laundry, I felt like I got to escape into nature for an hour and I genuinely appreciate the effort you put into documenting this. Taking this same trip is now one of my goals when I have more time to visit out west.
My 2nd time of watching the whole film, will watch it again and again.❤
Bronco in it natural habitat ❤
Nice video man 🔥
Thank you!
Alright, this place goes on the many places I need to explore. Bucket list fore sure. Thank you !
Wow that opening few lines really spoke to me
It’s a powerful saying for sure. It really affected me since I’ve heard it
Excellent. This has been put to the top of my trip list. After Im done exploring my home state of Alaska.
What an outstanding video of our state. We found your channel by a search of Oregon. Although I do most of my backcountry adventures on ADV bikes, I take the whole family out in our 4Runner and Jeep. You have a very simple good looking Bronco. Thank you for taking the time to film your time out there. We will now be going out there to film for our channel.
Oregon is such a stunning state and I have so much left to explore. But thank you! Yeah the bronco is a simple build and I like it that way
Cool. Thx for showing me a totally new area to overland. Looks awesome!! Eastern Oregon and Washington are epic.
Wow… stunning views. Unreal… thanks for sharing this man !
Liked the intro man, the way you put it in words that feeling you miss and have while beeing on autopilot...thanks man
Wow! Fantastic adventure! Beautiful scenery....Love the drone shots!
What an incredible trip. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Wonderful all, place, nature, the car, edit, drone... thank you for this unreal experience
Thank you so much! Calling it an “experience” is one of the highest compliments. Thank you
Wow. Watching this video makes me hop into my car go overlanding. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience in the wilderness.
Get out there!! Thanks!
I've been all over the US and Canada, multiple countries, have seen a lot. No place I'd rather live than Oregon/Washington.
It’s truly an incredible part of the world and offers a ton of variety in landscape
I drove by that exact camp spot last May. That area is absolutely beautiful!
This is is the first time I have viewed your work. I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a software executive stuck in Dallas, or on planes to cities abroad, I long for a few days alone in nature. Thank you for allowing me to travel along. Be safe! Tom
Dude that is really awesome to hear! That is exactly why I do this so thank you for sharing that with me.
Dude, this camera work is so great. Amazing video! Can't wait to check this place out.
Amazing work! I love how you film all of this by yourself. Quality it next level. You have a new subscriber.
I had no idea Oregon had this. What an amazing place!
It’s magical! Love it there
My guy just causally overlanded into heaven! 🤙🏻😎
Hahahaha that’s literally what this place felt like!
what a great time u spend there .
it seems u live your life's 4 days in heaven .
It really was. I genuinely think about it daily
It was really soothing to eyes, thanks for sharing bro, keep going keep sharing ❤🕉️
i dig the music at the lava fields round the 40 min mark.....carry on
Very nice, I’ll put it on the list
I love the bgm starts at 7:24, and the scenery along with the bgm is just gorgeous! thx for sharing such a beautiful and elaborately edited vedio!
I’ve had so many people tell me how much they love that song. Never had comments like that on other songs I’ve used! I’m glad you liked the video though! Thanks!
Some of my best adventured were in Eastern OR. Strawberries, Alvord, Owyhee over a span of eight years. The best part was waking up to wild horses roaming around camp and absolutely nobody around. I ended up going from full over landing rig to a dual sport and tent setup so I could cover more ground. A lot of people don’t “get it” but that’s good. The less people out there the better I say.
No that sounds awesome man. Honestly with “overlanding” get so popular I’m trying to find a way to get further away so that sounds sick
@@OFFTHEGRIND Highly recommend. If anything, you can scout out more trails MUCH faster on a bike, then return with the rig and full camp. The good old KLR 650 is a great bike for this. Check out telegraph trail out of Prineville (follow main street North east until it turns to dirt then keep going, it will dump you out around John Day). Great vids!
Pretty cool seeing that you were in Pendleton on the way
David, just stumbled on this video! Wow! What a great cinematography and story telling. I love that you show you passion for the outdoors so genuinely. You are inspiring me to hit Owyhee canyon and explore it the way you did. Thanks and keep it up! I am a subscriber now 👊🏼
Your video is absolutely stunning! It's so interesting! I live in Switzerland and will certainly grab some of your tips to go camping in our mountains here 😉 (overlanding is not allowed). I can't wait to watch all your other videos. Keep going ☺️🙏🏻
Fantastic video, Sir! Thank you for sharing
Such a well done video! Thank you for sharing!
Late to the party, as usual. Thank you for sharing your journey. My family and I are just across the border in Idaho and look forward to visiting these locations in the Owyhees!
This an awesome, thanks for sharing! I’ll make this trip soon as well.
Wow, that intro was stunning!
Thanks so much!
I’m also not a horse guy. My wife is. She has 3. Only thing I like less then horses are Brussel sprouts. Lol. Awesome video that truly made me want an overlanding trip asap.
Man, so the first 10 minutes of this video was rough for you lol! Hope you made it past that. But yeah man, get out there!
@@OFFTHEGRIND wild horses cool. Leave them in the wild. The beginning gave goosebumps it was so full of emotion actually. I could feel how much you loved the experience. Made me need a trip!
23:01 The drone footage is amazing throughout this entire video. Great video!
Thanks so much Derek! This area changed my life and I’m not even joking
I really wanted to hit this area when we went to the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho. BTW, Your Idaho video was the inspiration for our summer off grid camping / adventure vacation. It did not disappoint!
Dude Idaho is insane! Really want to spend more time out there. I’m glad you got out there and stoked I could inspire you to get out there! But yeah, the owyhees is a must!
Man your Bronco’s exhaust sounds so good!
Great scenery and a fantastic hot bath at the end !
Thank you!
Great vid! Thanks for sharing, bro!
That was an awesome trip. I REALLY enjoyed watching. Didn't want it to end.
I’m so glad you enjoy it! Such an incredible trip and I REALLY need to go back
Awesome video!! Owyhee Canyon and Succor Creek are out of this world!! Can't say enough about how beautiful eastern Oregon is. I use youtube to find places to overland. so I am very guilty!!! But I wish some places were still secret. 🙂
Right!? This area is freakin wild!! I wish I was less transparent about where I was in this video honestly. I never do that, but this seemed like such a well known spot I didn’t really see the harm. But either way, the mystery of these location is half the fun!
Well done. Great footage.
Top level filming and editing. Really amazing location. Great job.
Thank you so much!!
I really enjoyed solo camping in Oregon Owyhee Canyonland's by your You Tube and your brand new Bronco also pretty cool. thanks . @Japan
Thanks so much! Cool that I can share with around the world like that!
Amazing trip! Hope you do more in the future!)
Don’t a couple since this, but man, nothing compares to this landscape
Cool setup always wanted to check this area out for some reason. I'm glad you did and did a good video job as well! Mahalo
Thank you! If you get the chance you absolutely should! It is still one of my favorite places I have ever been to
What a excellent experience. Really appreciate this video. I have followed for more motivation. Kudos
Im so glad you enjoyed it! This trip was life changing. Itching to go back
Damn now I want to do this drive...but when it's dry. ha ha. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us.
Hahaha yeah the mud is no joke! Glad you enjoyed the adventure though!
Wow just incredible. Amazing video!
Thanks!
Wow! That intro cuts deep. Thank you for another great video
I LOVE that quote. It’s so motivating to me! I’m glad you liked the video!
Awesome presentation of some amazing terrain. 👍👍🍁🤙
Thanks so much!
What a incredible video. Truly top notch. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much Robert!
Love the vid man! Great trip, editing, filming... just great. I'll have to get the fam out there sometime this next year. looks epic, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! It’s such an epic spot. Please be respectful of the farm land and leave the area better than you found it. I’ve had a few comments of people telling me that the last few years there’s been a lot more people coming in and trashing it (not that I saw that really when I went) but I would hate to see that area to start to get shut down
As someone from the UK, I really envy this amazing trip. We wont ever get the Ford Bronco. I really want to try this on a vacation next year.
Fantastic video! Glad I found the channel
Glad you enjoy it!
So an amazing and a beautiful film!
Thank you!!
First class content.
Excellent movie, I enjoy all the Arial footage; I definitely enjoyed the moving shots and the fly overs. Ole danger donky was getting down and dirty, I felt like I was watching a ford commercial at certain points.
Dude, danger donkey had me rolling! So funny hahaha! But thanks man. Honestly I think this is the best video I’ve made. Gonna be hard to too this trip
@@OFFTHEGRIND You covered it all, maybe now hit that one spot I sent you in green water lol.
This is a great video! There have been some other content creators through there recently, but they barely scratched the surface, while you spent the time to explore. Your video was extremely informative and inspiring. Well done!!!
Thank you so much for this comment. For me, it is all about the exploration and I really try to capture that in my videos. This area is absolutely incredible and literally changed the way I look at areas.
I really enjoyed this video. Maybe I can get to see some places like this some day in my Bronco. Also, the fact you clean up after others disgustingly ignorant trashing of nature is amazing.
Your kids will grow up to be fabulous humans like you. Subscribed, liking and following for sure! (also the cinematic content is very good!) Thank You.
Thank you for your video. It’s really helping my trip planning.😎👍
Absolutely!
