In this video, I went on a solo motocamping trip through the Lassen Backcountry Discovery Trail (Not to be onfused with a BDR) and it was a ton of fun! I didn't finish the whole thing due to time constraints, but I covered over 130 miles of dirt, toured the National Park, and had an awesome night of camping. Overall I would say the trip was a huge success. Thanks for following along!

One of the best motocamping videos. Loved everything about it. Watching it feom Pakistan.
Is this lake catch and release?
nice video. love your truck man. dream setup.
wow i have no words, you try to make this seem like an adventure. so extreme you opened some cattle gates on a grated road... this is the day in the life of a rural farmer, and they do it without led light bars and a pop up tent.... so lame.. if you like this video please never come to Montana you are the problem in our state.
Was that Rattlesnake Road to Fordyce lake road closure? I’m surprised you didn’t see that on Onx off-road app.
It’s not on on-x, (or wasn’t at the time) which is why I didn’t see it.
Great job master 👌👏cool. Really great. Thx and greetings from Germany.
What do you air down to with a rig that weight? 45-50?
That’s what I run daily. Air down is 20 off road.
Any chance you can tell me the paint code on your tuck is it PDM I’m going to paint next week on my Gen 2 thanks love the set up .
Hey, sorry for the delay. Yes it’s PDM. Good luck on your paint!
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad thank you very much after paint my FWC Grandby going back on and can’t wait to get back out there wooooh 👏👏👏
Ever Found yourself wishing for a front locker? I’ve got an open diff front end 2003, same exact build and suspension as yours. Wondering if I should throw an elocker in before my next big trip.
I’d love to have a front locker. There have definitely been a few times I really wish I had it. But if I’m honest with myself, it’s not a rock crawler, and I can get through most things the way it is with a winch if I really need it. One day I’ll get a locker, but it’s not high on the list at this point.
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad gotcha, I’ve got some trails planned in Utah and Idaho that have me a bit worried. I’ve got the factory lsd in the rear but the power wagon e locker fits in these 9.25 AAMs up front. May throw it in for piece of mind. I won’t have others with me to pull me out
@@coltonramsey1574 yeah if you can find one of those that’s a great route. 👌 update back here how that works out if you do it. Might pick your brain a bit on the process.
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad will do, just going to do some more research on how the front end will handle it. I have the free spin conversion, 2014+ power steering pump conversion, and the mopar 6 bolt box/bad axe brace but just worried about all that tension when steering off-road locked front and 9k lb truck
@epicoutdooradventures hey can you look and tell me the color code on that truck , I’m getting my old gal painted next week and going to make a color change from Burgundy 👍👍 PS I love the camper but I’d have to add a bug net on the back , I hate mosquitoes 🦟 and they love me 😂
Great Video. Looked like a nice trip. can't wait to see some more BDR trail videos as well.
Thanks! Going to try and get the last couple out soon.
Can you make a video how to remove the rear adaptor there’s not a single good video on UA-cam if there is even a video I’m having trouble with mine try and take it off I feel like I’m missing a few steps
Hey the biggest thing I’ll say is that the rear adaptor has to come off after the upper oil pan. There are dowel pins that connect the two on the bottom and it won’t come apart/go back together without doing it in the correct series.
great video, beautiful area of the country. Closed for 4 years, is that common? I love how the forest service will close a popular area, then complain about overuse on the other areas after closing a popular area......
I know, super frustrating. The info about it being closed for 4 years was the information that the gate "guard/attendant" gave me. There's a possibility that he doesn't know all the info, but the dam rebuild project is going to take 4 years and he said it will be closed for the duration.
Awesome vid, great seeing full size rigs making a huge comeback.
Thanks!
Geat video thanks for sharing
You meant to stay so you can text your wife and me 😂 Sad you didn’t get to reel anything in, but there is always next time. Beautiful area out there
Yeah, sorry, I forgot the honorable mention on that one lol.
You living the life brother
Thanks man, I’m very blessed indeed.
I was up there from June 30th to July1st, sawmill was beautiful!
Probably had a few less people up there than I did lol, but yes it is. Absolutely stunning!
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad less people but it felt like there was a million mosquitoes 🤣
Pro tip bro, your gonna want to always add a barrel swivel when fishing all inline spinner style lures! This prevents line twists and knots and you will get 100% advertised action out of your lures! Alot more flashing and movement, more bites! Been following your channel for a while now, you still own my dream exploration vehicle/setup! Awesome! Thx for the new vid!
Dude that’s hugely helpful! Thanks! I actually had to cut out 30’ of line at one point because it knotted up. I’m a largemouth guy lol so I don’t use swivels on anything, but now I know. And thanks for following along, I really appreciate it!
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad primarily a bass angler but trout angler at heart!
With truck and camper in this configuration. Do you use the truck for anything else? Or is it strictly overlanding / hunting / fishing? I am trying to figure out my 3rd gen.
Definitely makes things more challenging, but I use this truck for literally everything, I tow trailers for work constantly, I commute with it, etc… the only thing it really changed for me was that I use a trailer for most things now, but that doesn’t bother me too much.
That's one chill snake in the water.
Yeah, totally harmless we shared the shore for a bit after he came in lol
Do you have a list posted of the equipment used in your build, fridge, power system and so on?
Here’s a link to my walk around that details all of that stuff. ua-cam.com/video/kxEEbRh50x0/v-deo.htmlsi=SgE3k3YDm9FxRQCk
Thanks for sharing! Living the dream! ❤️😎
last time i went there i saw a stuck tesla model3 lol
Crazy people.. lol be a dang shame if their battery died
next time you cook those Farmer John sausages, add a little bit of water in the pan and thank me later! Cooks them perfectly! Damn, now I'm hungry haha! Great vid once again!
Thanks man! Good to know, I’ll definitely give that a shot.
How did OnX not know about a government closure on their maps? Happened to us during filming our Divergent Pathways series and we actually had an OnX employee with us lol
That's a great question! I'm planning to go back to their website and see if I can report it somehow. But it was a bit irritating to get all the way out there to find out the area is closed lol.
Love the content on the Full size trucks new subscriber 👋 Two hearted eh gonna try to find it 😉🍻
Thank you! Great beer for sure.
Love it -- looking forward to seeing you on the bike again.
@epicadventuresoffroad love it I’m Trying to decide if I’m gonna build a 5.9 out 😅 👋
Love the 3rd gen content.
Cool spot the sierra’s are badass. Damn I just realized since your last video I was getting jacked up to start the build on my truck since then I’ve built it and had it out on 3 trips so far headed out this weekend. Love the channel you should start a merch store you have a cool logo I’d buy some shirts/sweatshirts. Also since I started watching I find myself playing where’s Waldo looking to see what gun you have hiding around lol.
Yeah its an awesome area! You should upload a video of the build, I'd like to see what you have done to it. I'm looking into how I can start selling merch, will definitely let everyone know when I start doing that. And that's hilarious! I try to be somewhat inconspicuous with the guns because "UA-cam" lol
A big like from Romania! Beatiful landscapes! Nice truck! 💪💪💪
Thank you very much!
Nice work! Love to see Cummins video. Do you disconnect the front swaybar? Im usually disconnect for my jeep. It will be very nice ride if you have a lot of rocks and potholes on the trails.
I haven't tried that. It's a little more involved on one of these bigger trucks than it is on a jeep. would be nice to see how it reacts though. Might have to give it a shot sometime. Thanks for watching!
Love the camo graphics!
Love this video. That radiator crack couldn't have happened in a more convenient spot! Some positive constructive feedback: your voice-over (when you talking over some video footage) was a little bit quiet and hard to hear some times. Also, looked up that moreflate hose, is that really $200??
Thanks for the feedback! I've been steadily working on getting my audio up to par. I'll keep that in mind for the voice overs. And yeah, that morflate is pretty pricey, but it sure makes life easier when you're airing up and down!
You did a diff cover in the front and not the back? Between the extra capacity, cooling a and servicabilty, rear all the way. My seals were leaking, ran low of fluid and almost trashed rear end (200k miles f250). The the Bars additive and cleaning out my magnetic plugs regularly, I avoided a 5k read diff rebuild. I added AT205 with the Bars for added protection and and slow my diff keak. My 6.0 for is known for oil leaks....3 bottles, leak down to a very small drip on the driveway...hope this helps.
The front cover was replaced because a buddy needed the stocker and wanted to trade me that Mag Hytec for it. Screamin deal for me!
cool bro, cant wait to get mine.. still managing negotiations
Doesn’t hurt that you’re younger and a hous, I’m an older dude. I have to use the two man method.
Just a question, why not back the truck to where the rear wheels are on the low side and load the bike from the higher side. That to me would put the ramp closer to the ground.
Definitely an option. Just showing what works for me. But whatever you need to do to get your bike loaded and get out there to ride is great!
Where can I buy this system for my 95
Just have to look around on the internet. I dont use any specific site for that type of thing.
Love the white ram with the mega cab getting out there.
Long live the cummins ! Love seeing diesel builds.
Great video...just now getting back into adventure bike riding after several decades and a stroke recovery. It is the adventures we make out of life , that makes life memorable and gives us meaning.
How is the mega cab on the trails? I know it’s got a wider turning radius and the break over angle is ass but is it really much worse than the quad cab?
Definitely takes a little more maneuvering, the turning radius is the biggest contrast on our trucks, I can turn MUCH sharper than he can with the mega.
Where beautiful, where is it?
Lucky peak reservoir outside Boise Idaho.
You put the left head gasket on the driver aide which is the right side
Been a while since I did that project, but I remember catching that and swapping it around, I didn't show it in the video though. I obviously couldn't have left it that way because the water and oil passages wouldn't have lined up, and the truck is still running perfectly.
Need to have the "3 cylinder idle" turned on. It will shut down 3 cyl's and only run on 3 until it comes up to a temp where it's happy on all 6. Have only had my y2k activate once, but it was kinda cool. It loads down 3 cyl's and forces them to warm up before activating the remaining 3. Not much smoke, sounds strange.
Unbelievably annoying music
Uhhh. Thanks. 👍
Have the same graphics on my 1090R just wish they still made it for the new 1290R. Such a bummer.
Very informative. I've rebuilt several gas engines in my time, but I recently acquired a 2002 2500HD GMC with the 6.6.6L. Starting a complete rebuilt in the morning. Just finished pulling the engine. Bro, the 6.6.6 is a lot of engine
