In this video, I went on a solo motocamping trip through the Lassen Backcountry Discovery Trail (Not to be onfused with a BDR) and it was a ton of fun! I didn't finish the whole thing due to time constraints, but I covered over 130 miles of dirt, toured the National Park, and had an awesome night of camping. Overall I would say the trip was a huge success. Thanks for following along!

Where do you find trails like these
I use onX and just explore. Look at previous trail reviews, look it up online, read read read. Then go and have fun!
Awesome build! a few questions if its ok I run the same ASV leavers, with a Cycra handguards, but mine touch. Can you share the specific Cycra model you got? :) And about the skid plate, would you say it is stronger then the OEM Ktm part? Thanks in advance !
advisable to run the engine for 5 mins to heat the oil before as it will flow out better
Fair enough, I prefer to drain it cold, that way all the dirty oil is in the pan already and will come out. When you run it beforehand, you get more oil through the whole engine, which then won’t come out when you drain it. Just seems like a cleaner change out if you don’t warm it up in my opinion.
What graphics kit do you have on your bike i love the look
how do you like the geny hitch?
I’ve had it for about 2 years, and it’s been great. It’s definitely bulky and sticks out like a sore thumb, but it does its job well.
Good day out in the country I love our 500i I just can't split by hand toasted my back so I'll cheet with the splitter. Enjoy the weekend and hope its more of this
Thanks! And thanks for watching 👍
Me when I see your truck without the topper: ua-cam.com/video/MAsA50HewHM/v-deo.html
Hilarious 🤣
Good choice! I put a 5050xl on my F250 with the KC Whistler but it made it a little too quiet for my liking lol! Oh well. At least now I won’t piss off the neighborhood coming home from work at 2am or when I crank it up when it’s cold.
I hear you man. I miss the sound of my truck without the muffler, but the neighbors are a big reason I run one as well lol. I'd like to weld v band clamps on there and be able to straight pipe it sometimes for my own enjoyment. We'll see if i ever get around to that.
@ I feel ya haha! I’ve thought of doing something similar. I kind of want to try out some type of electric exhaust bypass to have some switch on the fly muffled/straight pipe action, but I haven’t had any luck finding any 5” options.
Sorry the image is backwards everyone! I didn't realize that the DJI Pocket 3 mirrors the image when you have it in selfie mode. I know now, and its fixed for all future videos.
You’re sitting in the wrong side of your truck…the bar and chain is on the wrong side of the saw. Make it stop
Man I know. I didn't know that the DJI Pocket 3 mirrors the image when you have the screen facing yourself. It's fixed now, so it wont happen again, but unfortunately I didn't catch it till editing.
Why is ur Camara making everything looks werd
The DJI Pocket 3 has a weird feature that when you have the screen facing yourself, it was giving me a mirror image. I found that out while editing, and its been fixed.
More firewood videos please 🙂
Copy that!
That log was crazy easy to split nice 😁
They act like they cook the first time lol
I’m confused.
I'd like to know the moisture content of that wood. Gotta be single digits.
Great thought! I just went and put my moisture meter on it. 3.5%-7% is what I was getting lol. I’ll have to put that in the video next time.
On the split inside? Not the outer edge that you cut @@EpicAdventuresOffroad
@@emil8786 yes on the split inside. Checked 5-6 pieces.
Still have the ATO camper?
I do. Just needed my truck bed available so I took it off.
@ glad to hear it! Is it fairly easy to remove/install? Looking at a camper for my Ram and I’ve wondered about the easy of removal/reinstall.
@@njonl eh, I wouldn’t call it easy, removal takes about 3-4 hours. Install is probably around the same if you know what you’re doing. The actual camper isn’t the hard part, it’s the whole bed build and all of the wiring/water tank that take the longest. The camper itself is just 8 bolts.
I like how you launched the chain guard into the ground and didn’t react to it lol. Love when wood splits like that
Yeah it’s annoying keeping that thing on there.
Nice chainsaw! I need to collect a few cords for my fireplace...wait...I don't have a fireplace
That’s too bad. You could always put one in!
Reminds me I need to do a firewood run. Those 500i’s are sweet I’d love to buy one but I have a hopped up 660 that I absolutely love. Gonna have to throw the saw and the rifle and go do a little firewood and bear hunting tomorrow.
That sounds like a great time. Hope it goes well! And those 660’s are great saws too, my neighbor recently bought one and it’s definitely a nice running saw.
Nice setup, appreciate you sharing your truck.
Thanks for watching!
With the G56 swap and electronic transfer case, were you able to keep 4low working?
Yep, when you get your tunes changed from auto to manual it will get that all working again. Just have to make sure you have the neutral safety switch wired in too. The ECM needs to see that your clutch is pushed in to allow the transfer case to shift.
Am I first to comment
You win 🥇
where did you get the gauge pod a pillar from?
It’s all Autometer. Gauges and pod included.
I have a 1290 and Im looking for a bike carrier like that…where did you get it from?
It was a cheap generic moto carrier that I took apart and rebuilt a bit so it could make it stronger, but I would recommend mototote for a good option that can be purchased ready to go.
hey @epic_avventures_offroad 3 years ago you did a 'Mosko Moto - WOODLAND Panniers, Duffle, and Tank Bag Review!' can i suggest a follow up after all the travels youve done, how you pack now compared how you invisaged at that time when new... how theve stacked up and weather too much or could go biigger etc, like a side by side of that inital video.... cheers
I really appreciate the suggestion, and its a great idea, though I sold that bike with the bags on it a little while back. I will say though - the whole time I had those bags they were solid as a rock. I will definitely get them again for my next adv bike.
Great review! Cheers
I love stock LB7’s
great video! thank you for sharing
When you said exhaust brake sound is gone now...do you mean the crazy hiss sound? I have a 5" and its super loud hiss. I'd love to get rid of that and have the blow/relief sound.
Yeah it majorly reduced the hiss. Still a small amount of the blow off sound though. Just quieter overall.
i have a 06 5.9 that im building for camping and fishing just installed all carli front end parts been looking for something to do for tire inflation/deflation this video is great!!!!
I just got back from a night of moto camping in plumas county. On Mt. Hough, from which, one can see lassen. Watching your video because I already wish I was out there again.
Hey - nice low down on your truck. I've got a 2004.5 that I'm building up. :) how are you liking your Octane front bumper? Would you order it again knowing what you know now? And install was straight forward?
Hey, sorry for the late response. I love that bumper and would still highly recommend it. Install was not bad at all, would be nice to have two people though. Little rough lining everything up on your own and making sure the headlight gap is correct on both sides, etc... But yes, great bumper!
We used to be able to take trips like this in Tejon Ranch when my uncle worked out there. Man the amount of peace and solitude you can find out there is incredible. I really miss being able to venture out there. And the fishing is awesome. Good vid and cool truck.
Do I need to do a delete for a muffler on my truck 6.7 Cummins? I want sound but without having to delete my def???
Your not gonna get any sound with the def on it period
Yeah, it wont change any sound without taking the DEF off. Which in todays age is getting harder and harder to do.
Love it.
Nice truck bro. I was thinking of getting my truck to sound louder like yours. I have a 13 Chevy Silverado dually and what size pipe do I need?
first what i need at motorcycle camping are flip-flops :) greetings! i like Your video!
Great rig, I dispise plastic radiators, I upgrade all my vehicles to aluminum for sake of overheating
Yeah, I’ve been super pleased with my all aluminum that I installed after that fiasco
Anybody has problem with TFT Display? If so how did you fix it?
Waaaiiitttttt. Are you from Northern ca?!
Yessir 👍
What is your wheel and tire set up if you don't mind me asking
17” Method MR 305’s with 37x12.50 Toyo open country r/t’s.
I have that same bumper and winch, did you have to use different wires to get the winch set up?
No sir, tight fit but it worked out good.
i did mushrooms in that exact campsite in 2007 hahahah
😂 surprised you can remember it. 17 years if I’m mathing correctly.
What kind of cameras do you have on your bike and helmet if you don't mind me asking?
It was mostly a GoPro 10 on the helmet, with some GoPro 8 as well. I also used a insta 360 for some things, but haven’t gotten the hang of editing that footage afterwards, so I stick to the GoPros mostly.
@@EpicAdventuresOffroad thank you! And your footage looks great 🤙🏻
Awesome channel what brand is your polymer tailgate cover table top?
Thank you! Mountains Hatch is the company I use. I love mine!
What mapping system are you using for offroad trails?
I use Gaia gps and on x off-road for my navigation.
