Nice IFR flight X2! I should have figured that the trip is one hour each way or an hour and a few minutes. Appreciate you sharing this! It’s nice that I’m getting notifications of new uploads! Safe and fun flying always! Mark in KAWG.
Awesome. How many hours do you blokes have? Skill, experience, professionalism, many years of well-oiled crew coordination and an appropriate dose of humour just pouring out of this video. Lurking your channel and watching for more!

Thank you for a wonderful day trip. That weather was interesting but you two got through it. Getting back after midnight I hope the bith of you two were ok!!😊
I love your videos; they're always exciting and professional. However, your copilot needs to revise ATC readbacks. He's abbreviating way too much and didn't read back the takeoff clearance. Not good!
Definitely agree with that. I found his style of reading back very annoying, in fact his overall demeanour came across as far too relaxed and not professional. Kind of ruined the video, had to stop watching.
As well he should have. He called it prematurely and it was videoed. “No harm, no foul” does not cut it when thinking about the Swiss Cheese Model of accident prevention and air safety.
I understand that in that type of aircraft, the SIC/copilot does not have to be type rated on the Citation XL as the PIC does. I assume that he/she just needs to be a commercial pilot with a instrument and muli-engine rating?

Jim, how many current ratings do you hold? I know it takes up some time for each one and some of them can be pretty $$. Great video as always and thanks!
Don’t be so aggressive on cancelling when things are marginal especially at a single runway uncontrolled airport never know when some idiot pulls out in front of you or a last second shear and now you are trying a go around in rain with low ceiling and possibly not being able to lane at your intended. It really sucks trying to get another popup ifr scudding around low from a busy controller.
I agree, so what if it ties things up for another 2 mins until you’re safely on the ground. We have all been there waiting for the other guy to cancel his IFR clearance and we all understand why we have to wait. It’s just not worth it to cancel at night in marginal VFR conditions while airborne!
Just curious, you are Part 91, obviously not new in the XL, why in the world would you not swap empty legs? Even if not swapping seats. Contractors benefit from stick time as well.
What’s the super distracting warning message that popped up on both multi function displays right at touchdown? Excuse my likely incorrect terminology please. 😊. Seems like a horrible place/time for that visual distraction.
We get a small yellow light on the warning panel for the Speed brakes extending. The six light at the very top are for the deployment of the thrust reversers
@@captmoonbeam no, not them. Those annunciations make sense, it’s a wordy digital message on both multifunction displays right when you get to the threshold.
@@jpilot64 That's the 750 asking if they'd like to suspend the procedure (the approach) or if they'd like to continue missed. You're right that it would be distracting, if you were reading it all the way through every time, but you really don't. The left side say "remain suspended" and the right says "activate missed". You press one and it sequences the whole GPS if need. It seems distracting but is actually very nice once you do it once or twice.
@@jpilot64 It definitely could be, I understand where you're coming from. Occasionally you also get traffic warnings on final for aircraft that are holding short of the runway. Those are also pretty distracting as well! I guess that's some of the cost of fancy new tech haha.

Oh wow how old is this video..I haven’t heard some of those ATC voices in years.
What are your duty day maximums? As a non 121 pilot do you even have duty day maximum hours?
When operating under part 91 there are no duty time limits. But, I do try to limit it to 14 hours.

I remember when Spirit was under 20 feet of water
Gosh darn.
Are you avoiding clouds on the climb because of ice?
yes and also for a smoother ride. Also, by staying out of conditions that would require the anti-ice on, we can maintain a higher rate of climb.
