Old goat is on middle shelf over Sheila’s shoulder in between the bowl (with a dried ear of corn?) and a jar (preserves?). Yay! First time I have ever found him 🤣
Oh yum! You made garlic confit! When i do this i use grapeseed oil because it lets the garlic flavor really shine. Mix into mashed potatoes or hummus. Serve with kalamata olives and toasted bread. Mix with butter for steak. The uses are endless. I need to make some now!
Also going to get my garlic in earlier than last year. Need to get it in this month in zone 7B middle Tennessee. I got to get my order in. Our first killing frost is predicted to be the end of October as usual
Black garlic is wonderful!! Doesn’t last long . Old goat is middle shelf behind mama. My elephant garlic didn’t do well this year. Other garlics did good. Got my broccoli and cauliflower yesterday my broccoli was pretty yellow hope it comes back .
I see the old goat on the shelf behind Sheila. I will be planting some elephant garlic this week. If I buy garlic from the grocery store, will it grow well in Macon, GA?
Florida, zone 9a, have some garlic in my refrigerator for several weeks. Going to plant soon in a raised bed. Hoping that our garlic does ok. I've grown elephant garlic but really wasn't sure if they have the same medicinal value as regular garlic. Old goat on Shelia's side behind the bowl of corn.
Greg, now you know Georgia is divided by the "Gnat Line". And you are well below the "Gnat Line" so it's officially South South Georgia.... You can spot a South GA native by their ability to speak and puff gnats without interrupting the conversation when outdoors.... It's an acquired skill. And Greg, I can just imagine you a some tan Bermuda Shorts with your "Get Dirty" socks pulled up proudly and wearing a pair of flippy-flops. Yes sir, high fashion indeed!
Hi from Stan and Anita Baldwin AniStan acres. Huntsville Alabama. The Old Goat is on the second shelf behind Mama Hoss. Between the corn shucks and pint jar.
2024 brought tiny white worms in the base of my garlics. How do you deal with that. It was the best looking garlic I have ever grown and ended miserably. My varieties were Music and German Hardy.
Check out our growing guide. Make sure you do not keep it too wet. This can cause maggots to get into it and it rot. growhoss.com/blogs/growing-guides/elephant-garlic?_pos=1&_psq=+garlic+gr&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Hello from Tifton! Garlic was delivered today, really should start coming by and picking this stuff up from the shop lol. Old goat is next to the bowl of corn.
I’ll tell you what, last years episode of garlic tasting was absolutely priceless! I still laugh thinking about it! And btw, thank you sooooo much for the get dirty socks. I wear them proudly!
Thank you for the taste test. I prefer powerful garlic flavor and my family likes mild. I have to mix up my purchases. 😂❤. I will be uploading my garlic planting content soon. I have an order out to you. 😊 I love your channel and have success with your product... Not tobacco ...I can't grow it. Blessings 🙏🏾
The old goat is on the middle shelf next to the corn cobs. Here in central/south Florida, I have always had difficulty growing garlic, even soft neck. I need to try elephant garlic!
Man, I consider my ignorant Alabama self so lucky to be able to get my intellectual guidance from such noted scholars as Georgians! I’d surely never have been able to figure out “pointed end up” on planting garlic cloves! 😂
I grow native Creole every year. So cal desert. They have gotten to be small so I bought some ilchileum red this year to grow along with the large clove of the native Creole. B
I tried growing a hard neck garlic last winter after keeping it in the fridge for 6 weeks and it did poorly and the bulbs were very small, but my elephant garlic did great without the fridge trick. I'm not going to try growing any garlic that needs the long cold months to make good big bulbs.
Two years in a row now my garlic had worms in it. The cloves were stinky and rotten. They were in a raised bed and also I rotate beds. I will still try again this year. My elephant garlic had the same problem
You and MI Gardener always release your garlic at the same time when I'm out of money. ☹ Hopefully I'll still be able to get some in early October. Last year I lost about 30 heads because of all the rain in the fabric pots that made it rot. I guess I'll keep it under the roof of my porch this year rather than out on the open deck, and just water it manually. I think it was a mistake to think rain water would be better for it. We had way too much rainfall last year in Stone Mountain. The old goat is on the middle Shelf behind Sheila.
Do squirrels dig up the garlic bulbs? Thank you for the informative presentation about garlic. The old goat is on standing on the middle shelf behind Sheila between the corn coins and the jelly. ❤
So question... I ordered garlic from y'all last year but stuck it in my refrigerator because it was too early to plant and then promptly forgot about it. Can I plant it this year?
I see you finally have the Hossinator Bundle now. I wanted to let you know that in the description section, it is explaining about tobacco, not the Hossinators.
The old goat is between the dish of corn and jar of jelly on the second shelf to the right above Mama Hoss. Another great live! I tried to tune in every week! Always learn so much thank you and God bless.
hi, how you doing?, i hope good, i was watching a video on your youtube channel about a type of machete for cutting sugar cane, but i know that you guys dont carry on that machete even though i'd like to know if y'all have a reference of the machete or something, i really got interesting on that tool
Got my collard, kale, brocc, cauli, etc plugs today! They are healthy! We having upper 90 temps next 5 days,in Middle Tn. You think best to stick in starter pots and wait a few days for temp to drop, or just putthem in dirt? I plant them in area, that we cover for winter.
I’m about 25 minutes north of Hoss and I grew a hard neck variety last year called Chesnok Red. It did fairly well. Had a few bulbs that sprouted before it was ready to harvest(witches broom) but I still had plenty of garlic. Saved my largest bulbs that didn’t sprout to plant again.
Old goat is standing proudly on the middle shelf behind Mama Hoss to the left of the small jar. Thanks to Mama Hoss for doing the work to roast all those different kinds of garlic!
You all need to carry more softnecks than hardnecks because most of your viewers a d customers are probably down south which is why you always sell out of the inchelium red. Give us southern gardeners more selection there HOSS😅😅
I bad black garlic once about 13 years ago when i was working as a chef at an italian chophouse and we had it in a seasonal dish we were doing so i tried it by itself and it was delicious, i remeber it being sweet and savory, incredible flavor. Havent had it since, but i think now that you mentioned it i want to find some more and get it.
The old goat is in the middle of the middle shelf behind Ms Sheila. Wow, time flies! I guess I should have ordered out garlic sooner!

Old goat is on middle shelf over Sheila’s shoulder in between the bowl (with a dried ear of corn?) and a jar (preserves?). Yay! First time I have ever found him 🤣
I don't consider cooking and baking a hobby. It's a necessity to survive.

Thanks for sharing
I have to admit, watching this made me want to roast some garlic right away! Thanks for the video.
Oh I forgot, that old goat loves to play in the corn husks...

It may or may not. Most of the garlic sold in stores has been sprayed with a product to prevent sprouting. If you do, try to find organic garlic.
The old goat is beside the jelly jar on the shelf to the right above ms hoss head
In Tennessee, growing both hard and softneck. Haven't tried Elephant, maybe next year.
HOWDY Y'ALL!

I wish I had no pests on my garlic. I have onion flies which lay eggs and I lose half my garlic to maggots each year.

Are you getting more elephant garlic bulbs? It’s the only type that I grow successfully. The old goat is near the corn cobs behind Shelia.
No, once we are sold out, that is it for this year.
Is there something going on with the website store? There is a 5 minute plus delay on everything I click on. I'm on my mobile on wifi
Looking into it now.
First time growing garlic,do I take the skin off the clove before planting or leave the skin on? I don't want to make a mistake.
leave them on
