Saw them 8 times on this tour which I thought was excessive at the time but now I want to give my old self a high five for doing it!
3 times for me atl to san anton
Yeah dude. That’s absolutely legendary and I envy the shit outta you
Didn't see then once, now I'm 45 and regretting it
Four times for me. Philly, Long Island, Madison Square Garden and New Jersey.
I was a little fatigued by the jersey show and think even the boys were coming off of the MSG concert the night before
Thats rad as fuck
Funny thing about being a Beastie fan, you end up being a very diverse music fan. Old school hip hop, funk, classic rock, 80s pop, obscure 70s, punk.. On and on (til the break of dawn). Love em.
very much truth
Same with Sublime loool.
Agreed... Lemmy!
Facts
palmsquad from their first single! Grew up when the whole seen blew up in metro ny! Beasties are in my top 5 cats, and a lot of great music was made in that era! Not only did they blend music, they brought folks together through the music!
This needs to be put into the Archives Of American Art and preserved for all of eternity

Greatest entrance ever. Just sprinting up outta nowhere. So good.
it really is. so high energy
absolutely...ive watched it like 50 times. So awesome. They were not fucking around one bit
It’s perfect
...in their Mormon missionary drag. 😅
Do you know the name of the music used in the intro ?
"I really don't have to time to watch the whole thing. I'll just watch a few songs."
Forty-six minutes and twenty-three seconds later:
"That was fucking awesome!"
More please!
The same
Read your comment and thought, “Yah that’s not me ‘cause I gotta go to sleep, so just a couple of tracks.” Now it’s 46 minutes and 33 seconds later. Shit! 😅
I was there, 18 and absolutely DRENCHED in sweat.... magnificent gig.
You have been blessed my son.

Beastie’s always help.
Much love from Wisconsin.
The bestie boys had the best 3 way flow. The way they broke up verses for each of them to participate. Unmatched to this day
Also probably the first to combine punk and rap.
Facts
"unmatched to this day" i couldnt agree more with that. im still trying to find something as cool as that. i havent been able to.
Beastie Boys never get enough credit for being one of the greatest live acts ever.
Hand's dwn brotha they don't get thst credit but they definitely deserve it
indeed
I was a kid. I really wish I was there at glasgow in 99 :-)
indeed, I have the cassette since 86, wore that shit out along with Poor Righteous Teachers back in the day, was my theme music
LOl. You haven't seen a lot of live acts then.
Jesus Christ, they make that all look so easy. I don't think most people can appreciate how so next level these guys were in a live performance.
I saw this tour when it came thru Ft. Worth, TX and even watching the crowd reaction in this video, it doesn't convey how hype the energy is when you are there live. The audience is as much a part of the show as the performance. The sense of unity is what made these BB events so great. I use to see all of the big name concerts that came thru town (Public Enemy, Snoop, Rush, Pink Floyd, The Who, David Sanborn, Miles Davis, Mtallica, Sabbath, Chem. Bros., Prodigy, Crystal Method, Ravi Shankar, & on & on) & the B-Boys stood at least equal, if not head & shoulders above most of them.
Its pure energy. No one performs at this level of sheer energy. It was really special.
No shit I loved them BEFORE seeing these live vids. I didn’t know they could play too
Yeah I saw Iron Maiden at Tarrant County Coliseum on Seventh Son tour. IM live shows are some of the very best...Iron Maiden Live Matters! 💥 🎸 !@! 👻

If you want to understand how elite their lyricism is, try doing karaoke to Intergalactic half drunk. Doesn't go well, despite having heard the song about a bajillion times. You think you know the words. You do NOT know the words.

There energy is amazing and like u said the way they flow off each other and mix master mike is something special gave me goosebumps when i saw them live.
Because they've practiced a million times.
So true!! That’s why they have such mass appeal. Their live shows are off the chain! Saw them at Lollapalooza for their ill Communication tour. Just sick!!

I had the incredible fortune of seeing the Beastie Boys live in concert two times and the rush that I felt when they hit the stage is unexplainable. Mix Master Mike. The real deal! Such a complex skill set .. dude is amazing. None of these contemporary "DJs" that press play and stick their fist in the air are in the same league. Not one of them. Mike drives that rig with all the skill of a virtuoso classical pianist. What a monster!!

i'm 47, and my word, how lucky i am to have had the beastie boys as part of my musical life - dont get me wrong, i love the rock and metal, but for me beastie boys, its a magical era of cross over rap/break/mixing that wont happen again with this level of dedication and talent. I only wish i could of been at this gig, but thank god i can enjoy it so many times on youtube, it is an amazing example of quality muscianship and talent, we wont see again for a very long time.

Everyone is praising these 3 pure genius rappers, it’s ok, but, Mixmaster Mike, what the hell was that? The god of live mixing was inside you during this show! Absolutely the best rap show ever, it must be re rendered to 8k, please save it for the future.
Back when DJs actually did stuff. I am into fairly complex and virtuosic music, and imma gonna tell ya, this lad is a rhythm fookin genius. And more. He is doing live what cut and paste studio hermit/producers take all day and all month to perfect. Bits and pieces and the scratching to make real music and soundscape that perfectly backdrops the show, in real time. awesome.

TCQ opened the show? What a fuck! You listened a legendary concert!
Soooooooo jealous 😭😭
35:40 is one of the greatest things in the universe
Yes. I was like whoa.
It's true, you can't front on that.
I saw that part and I was like holy shit then I saw you're comment and I was like damn right
Word.
Fucking talent, hard working badassery!
My god. That cut midway through Flute Loop is just … unbelievable
Back in the days when nobody fucked around getting their phones out all concert! Just enjoying it.
Harvey Parsons Yuppp Absolutely...
Harvey Parsons Well, they didn't have camera phones, so it wasn't an option, but I get what you're saying.
Harvey Parsons So true..
Harvey Parsons Isn't it just
+Harvey Parsons ----that phone shit has been annoying since its been here...it was never cool.. leave em in the car....
Holy shit they had a diverse range of music. Respect.
@Michael H. you missed the punk?
They started as Harcore
You have no idea what your talking about. The beastie boys started as a legit punk band for quite a few years and something happened with like a commercial they did and it sparked them doing hip hop. While producing and recording their own music they still played their instruments. They did funk psychedelic punk hip hop experimental jazz surf ect.....
I'd suggest delving into them cause you are uneducated about them. They did more than rap over all this they also sang normally too
@Michael H. idiot music is not about vocals
@@moxieallen5428 there's no jazz or surf in here and very little funk I can say it as a fan of the genres.
I'm 51 now .... 1999 was my 10 year high school class reunion... Really amazing to see this for the first time right now. Love Beastie Boys ❤👍 Well done
Edit.. But sure makes me feel my age lol 😅
I saw them in Manchester on this tour. 17 years old and watching legends live. Good times.
Saw them in 1998. Still getting goosebumps. My heart is jumping. And I've tears in my eyes. Feel love for ever. Thx so much guys.
Here's a time machine, but you can only go back anywhere in time for one hour.
Me:
Hour, hour after hour. Respect. Peace.
