I heard a recording once of a live version of Yellow Ledbetter, where it ended in Dance The Night Away. Been trying to find that for 20+ years now.....
Vedder is one of those few frontmen who sound as good on stage as they do on a finished mastered record and hearing him live like this shows his vocal aptitude and ability ... such an amazing band, years of great music thanks to them have gotten me through some of my worst days
I recently saw a documentary about pear jam and it was said that the guy who produced most of the big hits never altered Eddie's voice, he kept it as raw to give pj that exclusive sound.
Myself as well. Eddie saved me from taking my own life more than once as a teenager. He gave me hope and made me feel less alone with the lyrics and emotion that he gives you with every word. Dave Abruzeese killed it! He's the best they'd had. The other 4 guys played with emotion and soul...Dave wrapped it all with his perfectly precise drumming!
I don't care if you like this music or not. LOOK AT THAT ENERGY! This brings me back to when my friends and I would hang out and just jam for hours, with no structure or direction whatsoever. It was all about playing music for the fun of it and making things up on the spot without a care in the world.

The early 90's I was college student, from today point of perspective (48 yo) this performance and energy are epic,I love 80's & 90's because of the special mood
Exactly honestly I'm 17 right now and I just started playing bass a little over a year ago but I still got a few years to practice because I wanna start a band I for sure wanna actual good lead vocalist which will be hard to find in today's world cause I wanna put on an actual good live show
I've seen this particular performance like hundreds of times, but I only realised now what happened at 18:35. Eddy is about to cry , dragged by the emotions of the song, and Stone hears it in his voice, and is coming closer to check up on him, and Eddy gives him the thumbs up, like: I'm doing ok, lets go on.
Oh yeah...Eddie must have really been in touch with his feels during “Black.” Sometimes he still will put his hands over his eyes. But this one is the most intense that I’ve ever seen. And I love Stone’s actions! By the way, Eddie is so beautifully gorgeous in this video but I also think Stone looks rather fine!
it's amazing the unity of the group! Eddie, this song has an emotional load on Eddie and he expresses that very well what he feels! He's a very sensitive person, I really admire Eddie got it all by himself! Everyone's been through this. it's hard! Thanks for the info i hadn't noticed...
there is absolutely no way that is what is happening here. that is what a hand looks like from that angle, there is no thumbs up, and there is no crying about to happen.

38:23 The joy on his face. We as fans, don't realize sometimes, how much we impact the artists and make it possible for them to feel that "release" that we feel from their music! The greatest feelings I've ever felt in my 50 years, have been at live shows. It's like, every person in the crowd vibes at the exact same frequency for a second and become one, as a whole. Then we echo or reverberate that positive energy back to the ones who created it, completing the cycle of healing. THAT, to me, is the true feeling of the POWER of music and the unseen force that connects people who listen to it. TO WHOMEVER READS THIS, You are never alone in whatever you are going through in life! That common denominator we share in certain songs, will get you through ANYTHING! Does that make sense?

Took my kids back in the day...they were about 15. Twins boy and a girl. We were all in the pit having a great time. I got out for a bit to cool down. Apparently the drummer threw his sticks into the crowd. A few minutes later my daughter finds me, she has a black eye, hair is all fucked up, clothes dirty, hands me a drum stick and says "this is fucking awesome, I'm going back for the other one!!!" Great memories...
You dont know how much I wish I was gen x for this reason. Really sucks I wasn't there in their prime. But I'm really grateful they're still around today though.
At that time every show of theirs was this crazy and passionate and electric. I saw more than a few and thought Eddie was dead twice. Iʻm so glad this was captured! Lightening in a bottle.
I always liked Pearl Jam. An older cousin of mine gave me Yield for christmas when I was like 10. I never really got into them like Nirvana or Oasis which I have loved for years now. But this performance really won me over. Unbelievably raw and visceral energy while still being tight and sharp musically. And Eddie is a damn animal genius. I’m on the train now. Only 20 years late but I’m here for it.
I think a lot of us feel that way. They were hands down on another level for awhile at least. I love all the bands from this era but I’m not sure I can honestly say any could do this. This is just musically something special and the weird thing is it looks as if everyone knows it.

They just gave you the wrong album to break you in, mate.
Damn, there's just something about Eddie that makes him incredibly attractive
I could do a list if you interested!

It's easy... The hair and the voice
Just realize that Mike threw off some War Pigs Lick into his solo at the end of Alive 15:48 Epic!!
SAME! I was searching to see if anyone else caught it. Bravo.
I thought, wait. What? Am i crazy? Then started searching for comments to make shure i wasnt hahah
so true!!
Threw in alittle Voodoo Child (slight return) during Porch
Probably my favorite riff from war pigs too lol sounds like I just emerged victory in war
Note the joy, energy, presence and involvement from the audience when they don't have cell phones in their hands.
I've completely fallen in love with this performance.
It is the very best!!
