- This is 20th month update. Loomster is a sparkling gourami. The lid’s been off this entire month b/c of the temps. The higher temps cause the plants to grow like crazy. Loomster started to hunt the shrimp. He’s been croaking more often at the tuxedo guppies during the night. The guppies didn’t stand a chance. I had my doubts when I bought the guppies, but I didn’t think it would be this bad. Loomster has claimed the entire tank and the one guppy that was left would not come out from hiding. I felt so bad for the guppies. Some say if it happened to you, it’s your fault.

Day 603:
I scurried my legs for 2 hours. The giant hand gave us a big leaf from the surface world. I ate it while continuing to scurry my legs. Comrades 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 14 assisted me in devouring it. When the big leaf was defeated we scurried our legs in celebration. The giant hand angrily stole some of our water. We banded together to more vigorously scurry our legs and complete the ritual of wrath in protest. The giant hand eventually surrendered and returned the stolen water to our people, only to cut our plants. Little does the giant hand know that the plants will grow back, and he will have to steal them again with his long metal sticks.
Comrade 8 ventured to the surface world and never returned. We await his findings from beyond as we scurry our legs in anticipation. Many of us did not notice his escape as we scurried our legs and stared at nothing, periodically changing direction to stare at a different nothing for a while.
Long, aimless staring at nothing for several more hours.
It's a great time to be a shrimplet.

Sparkling gourami can get quite territorial.

You know, you inspired me to go for nano tanks. I just got my very 1st nano tank. I'm ssuuuppperrrr excited to set it up! I just added some plants and now will wait for at least a month B4 I add fishes to it. Unfortunately it's not easy to get shrimps here in India.

Akhi, the everlasting cure for BPD is Qur'an. This video came up in my UA-cam recommended for some reason and I watched it cause why not.
I binge-watched the whole playlist for this tank and the Sweet Potato series in one day. I now have the bell notification on so I can stay updated with the thrilling saga of fish and shrimp in no filter tanks. And I don't even like fish that much! What is going on?

First the good: I love this channel and its community, I’ve been following since the 8th month and can’t wait for the notifications to arrive! It’s so relaxing!
Now I’m going to address the elephant in the room say it’s time Loomster to go with the other gouramis and bring someone else; she has been bullying everybody for the last six months and is getting worse: the dead shrimp brought back that sense of loss I felt when the first female Amano- who coincidentally jumped out of the tank due to all the stress the gouramis put her thru- and that poor guppy probably was bitten like in month 19th and couldn’t deal with it anymore; biologically the tank is balanced; emotionally, it needs a change.

I really enjoy these video. Thanks for sharing. For some reason they remind me of the story my dad will tell us about a fish store in the Chicago area he used to visit when he was a teenager, he said they has one HUGE tank (have no idea of the size)in the corner of the store. As a tank of fish for sale got down to the last few they would scoop them out and they would go into the huge tank. Live bearers, egg layers or whatever. He said that is was green and spooky but every couple of years they would drain it down and find what survived and thrived. He remember big angles and fire mouths, lots of platys, swords and guppies. A regular bubbling cauldron of mystery fish. Thanks again for bringing that memory of my dad back.
I think the trimming of all the plants etc caused the aggression because a big chunk of space became open.
That was probably the cause, yes.
@@BoguZzNL Yeah it doesn't make sense because before the trimming, they were all doing fine with lots of places to swim off and hide... maybe if he left a little more long stems that went to the top, things would have been fine.

I actually have two aquariums. One for each, male and female. And it's a bit big, 30 gallons
Noooo, poor guppy. Bad Loomster! I thought it was incredibly beautiful with the bright, white guppies among the dense, dark greenery.
Sorry to hear that the guppies didn't work. Sadly, guppies aren't very compatible with other fish of the same size because of their fancy tails... which leads to lots of stress.
Though, if you plan on making another aquarium series, I'd love to see you keep livebearers!

I place moskito net on my tanks to prevent the fish from jumping to their death. use wiring or whatever to fixate it to the tank.

Ok, we are dealing with the coronavirus and I have stumbled upon your videos.. I am seriously binge watching like it’s Netflix 🤣 in all seriousness, the content and music is so calming and relaxing, I am hoping Loomsters parents return for at season finale..waiting to see how the drama with the tail fight ends, and obviously my favorite character is the sucker lol 😂 I’m sure there’s a better name for him but I forgot. I started my 1st natural plant setup and have successfully crossed 15 days... the plants r doing well.. started to spread... introduced few guppy and red shrimps a couple of days before... buy already lost 2 Red Shrimps... apart from that everything is doing as expected... thank u brother...

i’m so sorry you lost a shrimp and your guppies :( my golden mystery snail recently passed too, although it wasn’t caused by his tankmate. it’s so remarkable how such a small creature can have an effect on you. i hope the surviving guppy finds a good new home and that Loomster can hopefully calm his aggression down

I have a first generation blue tuxedo mixed with a sunrise guppy (bright yellow orange) male it is breathtaking. I would send it to live in your tank if unlike.. The most gorgeous guppy;I have ever seen. I have sunrise, black deltas, blue tux, endlers. I also have absolutely iridescent black delta blue tux mix. They are so amazing in their vivid colors and combinations

ive had some of my aquatic pets become more aggressive when it gets warm, i usually chalked it up to heat increasing metabolism and they just got more hungry

i suggest putting some small square water container under your aquarium filled with water, you can prevent the animals inside to die when they jumped out
