I’m so excited for the shrimp and fish to be in this aquarium finally! I had to stop editing the video several times to just go and watch them swim around. I can’t wait to see how this aquarium continues to develop. Also, how many shrimp did you think were in the old setup? Let me know, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
Transferred 6 shrimp to my new nanotank some weeks ago. Can confirm using a net isn't the best option 🙂. First tank was heavily planted, the new one has mainly mossball structures, thin branches and a few other small plants. It's super fascinating to see the shrimp actually swimming around.
I recently moved my shrimp tank across the country. One thing I found out: there are always like 10x more shrimp than what are visible at any time. I found an entire breeding colony inside my canister filter despite having sponges on the intake and outflow pipes.
Imagine you're just chilling and one day your home starts to be destroyed and people start disappearing. Then you find yourself just sitting in a black void with all your friends/family, then you get dumped onto a new planet.
Don't threaten me with a good time 😆 It would be great to get off this planet and away from everyone but my friends and family -- permanent camping trip!
Another trick that works well for catching lots of shrimp is a plastic soda bottle with the top cut off, flipped upside down, and inserted back into the bottom part of the bottle. Once they're inside, they have a very difficult time navigating back out.
I have a 5 gallon tank exclusively with Blue Dream shrimps that have been reproducing for about 4 years. I started with 6, and now my estimation is somewhere around 50, but there are always tiny babies I cannot see to count. I've considered moving them to a larger home, but they seem quite content, and I don't want to ruin a good thing, so there they remain. Every so often, I prune their plants, clean the glass and maintain their filters, but other than that, they are very low maintenance. I love watching them; they are such lovely, graceful little guys.
It’s amazing how close your guess was! The new tank is beautiful. If I only had one tank to look at I’d pick that. The shrimp are really pretty. ❤❤❤ thank you for sharing this journey with us. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻God bless you and your family.
It is, but in my experience, a lot of the people I've seen doing it (especially online) have very little scientific knowledge in both botany and fish husbandry.
I've been around for many years watching your videos and its crazy how much you've improved in tank design over the last 3 years. Thank you for all the amazing content!
I know nothing of aquariums, but watching how much care and thought you put into it really impressed me. So much responsibility being a caretaker for an entire ecosystem. I tip my hat to you sir!
I've been watching your videos for years now. My youngest and I have made so many little environments throughout them that we give a jar away every winter to family. Thanks, man, for growing and sharing your adventure.
It’s grown in so nicely! I rescaped my 70 gallon about six months ago and also did a crypt forest. Dang…..it is flourishing! Crypt forests are my new fav.
So crazy, I think that tank was the first video of yours I watched! I've got to admit it has been wonderful seeing the channel grow and for your continued quality and care. I have loved every single video you've put out - thanks for all your hard work over the years!
So cool, thank you for the meticulous counting! That original tank was the design that finally got me to subscribe to your channel (I'm afraid of snakes, nothing personal). I'm a happy subscriber now and not as afraid of snakes lol. Can't wait to see how this one develops over the long term. Peace and blessings, Tanner.
I never comment because I’m usually (am right now) watching on my TV but I’ve probably watched for the last 10 years and It’s been amazing to watch your channel grow - but one of the reasons I love watching is that everything is real… and real takes time and hard work, it can be boring and definitely not always *aesthetic* Basically I’m thinking about that tiny tank I packed away during a move…. I’ve never had shrimp… 🤔
Great video! I've recently done exactly the same move from an overgrown planted tank with so many critters I had no idea where to start. Interesting to see that you uncovered the way to transfer over just like I did. Nice!
I don't have an aquarium, this video was in my feed, but gotta say, very impressive that you made your own aquarium from glass shelves, and your attention to detail, especially the highly respectful attitude for the life within your custody is all impressive, refreshing. The world needs more attitude like yours, keep it up! 💯👍
Your tanks are always an inspiration for me when Im starting a new tank or redecorating a tank. You do such an amazing work with them. Keep up the great work.
I'm so enviable of people who have the time and patience to care well for aquariums and their beautiful inhabitants. Guess I'll just have to keep watching channels like this one. Thanks.
i'm not a fish tank guy but i found this video pretty chill to watch. Also my granddad has one with couple fishes and snails and he always taking care of them.
As much as i absolutely love the build videos, this was a great addition. Just seeing the updates for the lil fellas you have and seeing them get an upgrade. Love it.
Shrimp tanks are very entertaining, more than my regular fish tanks anyway. I love watching them, they are always so busy and there is always something going on to watch, I can sit there for hours.
The idea that our bodies remember events in our past and respond to them as they approach again has always been fascinating to me. It was cool to hear that you made this tank exactly four years from that first one.
I just want to write here that your videos are amazing and inspired me to do a lot with my tanks. So far I have a 60L tuxedo guppy tank which is spawning like crazy, and a 15L with 12 neocaridina which is also starting to berry...I used your tips to add more scape and plants and it helped a lot.
Your crystal tank inspired me to start to thinking more creatively about fishtanks. I have this cool idea about combining a the iconic fishtank volcano with a sand waterfall to make like a lava flow. But I also have like no money cause I’m in college but I’ll through it out here just cause. I’ll build it eventually but it’s not like you can copyright a fish tank piece 😅
Love all your content! I found you from your terrarium builds long ago and would love to see a new terrarium some time in the future. keep doing what youre doing though, and thanks.
I watch to learn new things and maintain what I've learned from years ago. Someday I'm gonna set up a few awesome tanks and palidariums, one massive one is planted and i can't wait to start. But all in time.
7:35 That's not just a lucky guess. that's the difference between a simple hobby and a genuine passion. Only an attentive pet owner could have such a close guess
Your passion for this activity is inspiring. Thank you. This was beautiful, and to be honest, I don't have an aquarium or any real interest in getting one, but I thought this was beautiful.

There probably were 147 shrimp if you count the ones you already put in the tank
You are so much FUN
You are so much FUN❗️
I guessed around 70 !
I recently moved my shrimp tank across the country. One thing I found out: there are always like 10x more shrimp than what are visible at any time. I found an entire breeding colony inside my canister filter despite having sponges on the intake and outflow pipes.
So real😂
... What? lol
That is crazy.
😮 I’ll have to check my canister filter!
Yep, now i have to check my canister too :D
I started with 30 red cherry shrimp 4 years ago I have 2 tanks full and currently supply a local aquarium sold close to 1000 in 2 years
When you dumped the shrimp into the new tank and the music started it was like a sigh of relax and calm. Why I watch this channel, thank you.
I was actually in shock waiting for the fishes to gobble them all up
I'm not watching this video until the title gives a hint as to what happened. I am tired of these click bait titles.
@@TheKomentor Then don't, lol. I hate clickbait as much as the next guy, but most people don't like spoilers either.
there are tons of videos of people decorating aquariums, but most never follow up on what happens after the initial setup, so i really enjoyed this.
Same I agre
yes same

That sounds a lot like the song Tool - Rosetta Stoned
Don't threaten me with a good time 😆

Have you seen Dark City?

New Serpadesign videos are my favorite part about Saturdays! It’s so cool to see how this setup has evolved and what this new version looks like 💚
Love it! I did the same with my aquarium a year back and found out that my 15 blue dream cardina shrimp had multiplied into 216!
These shrimp have a better love life than me
Probably every wild animal has.
Everyone has a better lovelife than me...
Lol
You should see Sea Monkeys. Those things mate constantly. Sometimes, even threesomes.
you just gotta broaden your dating pool like these shrimps did, you got a single cousin or aunt perhaps?
I love your upgrade videos and seeing the old animals get amazing new homes, it really gives an idea of how far things have come
Yes. I second that

Tanner, I'm glad you seasoned it. It's so beautiful and striking. Your creativity is such magic. Hit that thumbs up people!
what does seasoning mean? casual viewer here
@@BabyCalypso it refers to letting the set up mature and establish (plants to grow, bacteria colonies to build up, parameters to stabalise etc)
thank you! @@cc-nb5fb
lol that internal shot from the fish POV of your face peering in was great. It always shocks me how amazing these tanks look after just a few months.
I also laugh out loud when I see my snails "surfing". Your tankscapes are gorgeous, both old and new!
Beautiful, I'm glad to know all the shrimp got moved over! They're so cute. I love this tank.
It’s amazing how close your guess was! The new tank is beautiful. If I only had one tank to look at I’d pick that. The shrimp are really pretty. ❤❤❤ thank you for sharing this journey with us. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻God bless you and your family.
I would live to see your take on aquapontics. Combining fish and gardening seems so interesting.
It is, but in my experience, a lot of the people I've seen doing it (especially online) have very little scientific knowledge in both botany and fish husbandry.
This tank is just beautiful! I have never seen so many shrimp in one tank! Wildly inspiring!!

Another outstanding result Tanner! What a lovely 'scape!
Watching you is an absolute joy. Your love, knowledge, and dedication to this field is beyond belief.
Thank you Tanner please keep it up

Stunning setup and wow what vivid colour shrimp. Superb
I came for the shrimp I stayed for the sweet narration. Two thumbs up!

Very cool update! Love the new aquarium. Thanks for posting this and sharing your thoughts. And for the shrimp count!!!
Aquariums always look so much better once the fish and shrimp are added. Love the design.
That's so many shrimp!!!! I can't believe you started with only 6 and now you have 143!!! Can't wait to see the increase in the next 4 years!!!
My 6 turned into 2🥲
those danios look so cool never seen them before
can you suggest me channel with ecosystem with ants also in it other than antscanada channel

I love shrimp so much. I have a shrimp only tank in my office and i could watch them all day. I loved watching this. What a gorgeous set up
Wow! Just so happy how well you did and made these habitats. Thank You !
That aquascape inspired me so much. Thanks for high quaity videos that are hard to find on youtube nowqdays
You should chain all the tanks together, allowing fish to swim from 1 to the next

The new tank looks amazing...congratulations.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful journey 🙂
New tank and its inhabitants is very striking! I've always wanted shrimp, But all I have is a 3.5 betta tank with him of course.
