That thing is going to explode. 😂
Haha nah hopefully not. I did a lot of research on these engines and they seem really reliable holding power. The 1.8/2.0 turbo are a different story but these 2.8 v6 are rugged. There’s a guy right now on Insta pushing 600hp without even head studs and his and it’s still fine haha this one’s barely 400hp. Every forum says you don’t start getting to the risk zone until 500-550hp. They do go through spark plugs a lot tho. I gotta get this aftermarket set and I gotta do it every 3k miles because it wears them out so much haha.
Welcome to SAAB ownership! car sounds amazing! I'd be weary of that big turbo though. Make sure it has internals to handle it, otherwise she WILL blow. SAABs are not the most reliable nor cheap to maintain but they are rewarding if you keep throwing money at it lmao. Subbed for SAAB content :)
Thanks man I love it so far! and yeah I did a lot of research and I found that the 4 cylinders don’t handle power much and explode but these 2.8 v6 seem to not have many real issues with maintenance. I’ve seen tons of people pushing big power with almost nothing done to them. There’s a guy on Instagram pushing 600hp without so much as even head studs haha. The 2.8 comes with a forged crankshaft and connecting rods from the factory so the pistons are the only weak link and all the forums say you shouldn’t really worry until about 550hp but this one’s barely 400 from what I’ve been informed and the previous owners swears it’s reliability (I’ve heard that before so I take it with caution and an open mind haha) but the only thing I’ve found is they eat spark plugs when your turn them up. I gotta put special ones in this thing every 3,000 miles for optimal performance haha. If I manage to hurt it tho I’ll replace whatever broke with stronger parts. So far it’s kicked ass tho and been great and the parts have actually been cheaper then expected since gm bought Saab out. Its all gm sensors and bushings etc. either way anything is cheaper then the cummins I got rid of this spring
New car is wicked man can’t wait for the new content with it 🤘🏻
Thanks man I’ve been really enjoying it so far and hell yeah 🤟🏻🤟🏻
@@RightFootRacing the Silverado was cool and all but the Saab is gonna be awesome
