I ordered one from Amazon, too, because until today, Dyson didn't have them in stock. The neck was too long so the holes didn't line up--sent it back. I knew better, but that's the last time I buy generic anything!

I own the same vacuum as you. My battery has never worked. It would last for about two minutes the cut-out. I called Dyson a bunch of times and then lose charge. Finally, after two year I was able to contact Dyson about the junk they sold. They sent me another battery and your video will be helpful. thank you!

I ordered a 6000 mah battery off Amazon for only $32.00…the original battery was 2200 mah I believe. WELL WORTH $32.00! Three times the battery life!

Dyson was out of replacement batteries for my V8, so I bought one from China that was supposed to fit. It didn't: the neck was too short and the screw hole wasn't big enough.
Helps to have the bottom section flipped open to remove and replace the screws.
Don't mix up the screws -- the one on the handle has a slightly thicker head than the ones on the bottom do.
AMAZON…$32.00 with coupon I just received…6000 mah battery…charging it now.

I waited until mine only lasted for about 5 then 3 mins. Meanwhile I ordered a battery from Amazon. Then I was able to cheekily request a new Dyson (& it’s fab). One upstairs, one downstairs. At a critical kitchen moment the downstairs one completely died & the lovely new one had to be christened downstairs doing 2 very ugly jobs. So, battery change tomorrow & the good/newer/bigger/classier (but heavier) one back upstairs with gentrification 😂

I just bought a V7 battery by mistake . If you’ve done the same , you can use a dremel to shave off the extra plastic on the vertical post , and it’ll slide in all the way :)

Dear Deep Unboxing, Thank you so much for this video. Just one question. The replacement battery does not come with a charger. I have plugged the dyson battery charger into the port to charge the replacement battery and I notice it does not go into the port all the way. It seems to only go into the port about 1/2 way. Is the battery still going to charge well or do I need to get a new charger as well? Thanks again for doing this video!
Check the battery light if its working or not
The port need to be in as with the original battery

I had to pop open the trash bin in order to put the screws back in. It's lot easier that way. My replacement battery is 35000 mAh. I wonder whether that makes a big difference?
Tested few different batteries 4500, 5000... they all hold the same amount of time
@@DeepUnboxing I installed the new battery, it's been more than 15 hours, but I still don't have 3 solid blue lights! The second one is still blinking. Did you get 3 solid blue lights on yours? I hope they did not send me a lemon... -:(

We’ve had our Dyson for 3 yrs. Bought batteries but the screws seem to be welded in place! Top one came out with difficulty. Bottom ones are not moving at all. I sprayed WD40 and nothing. Any suggestions?

Will the battery stay in place if you do not replace the screws? I'd like to be able to swap out batteries when cleaning when one battery has runs out of juice. Just pop in the spare and keep working.
You need to secure it some how... for a reference you can use:
velcro amzn.to/3s8QTiH or releasable zip ties amzn.to/398wHF4 to hold it in place with the lower part of the handle
