HOWTO: Replace a Dyson V8 battery

The LIVIASA V8 Battery Replacement I used (linked above) takes 70 Wh to recharge (so it probably is comparable in capacity to the original Dyson battery of 65 Wh). In my tests, it runs my V8 Dyson in max mode for 7m 30sec, and in low mode for 42min 30 sec (without powered accessories).

In general, Dyson branded batteries probably retain their capacity for longer (calendar lifespan) than replacement batteries, which in my experience appear to degrade quickly after only a year of use. The advantage of replacement batteries is purely the low cost. So if you want the BEST battery, buy a Dyson branded one from the Dyson store....but be prepared to pay Dyson prices.
