I’m a 76 year old grandma, and I managed to solve my Dyson’s pulsing problem with the help of this video. Didn’t have to replace the battery either! Many thanks. 🏆🌟
Lots of videos on this but yours is the first one I've found that says the most common problem is the battery. Wish I'd seen this first and saved a bunch of time. Just ordered a new battery on Amazon. We've got a brand new Dyson from Costco still in the box. Hoping to return it and save $700.
Thank you so much Brother! I found one of these a year back on the side of the road, and knew one day I would circle back and try to fix it. Sure enough, a year later, I just stumbled upon your video. All I need to do is replace the battery! haha! Wife is going to be so happy. She always wanted a Dyson stick vac, and this one is in great condition still! Thanks again!
Check everything that could be clogged before concluding to replace the battery. On my DC35, the interface between the floor attachment and the wand was clogged. Removed the clog and it works like a charm! Thank you!
I've taken my Dyson completely apart and thoroughly cleaned everything. I've even cleaned the vacuum motorhead and all electrical contacts and I still have the same problem. I've run it without the cyclone head and have the same issue. For this Dyson model cleaning alone usually works, but I'd say It's battery time for me! Thanks for the video.
Thank you so very much! Now I can continue using my DC44 Dyson, and have not need to spend hours searching how to recycle an old machine and further hours looking for and collecting a replacement! -The save on costing is immense!
how is it the best video? any idiot would have figured out if they had a faulty battery, he started of telling people how to check filter and dissasemble the unit which they would have already know how to do then turn around and say change the battery, how is that fixing it?
This video is SO good! Thank you so much. After watching all the videos from Dyson I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with our unit and was about to buy a new one. This video saved me a ton of $$$ and now it’s working like new. Thank you so much!
You saved my day from buying another Dyson. I popped out the filter unit and the top filter. Use toothbrush to clean it all up and start working again. It was crazy annoying for about 1 month. Finally, fixed it.
Thank you so much!! With your help I was able to diagnose that the thing needed a new battery. BTW I have Type A and it doesn't say Type A where yours says Type B. Also there are no screws to remove to get the battery off, there is a button to push. Hope this helps and thanks again for your cheerful assistance!!
Thank you so much for your video. I had that exact problem. Watched a couple of video on how to fix and they basically just mentioned the same thing of cleaning the filter etc which was of no help to me as I was still having the same issue. Your video is very clear and thorough. I now know that I need a new battery.
Great demonstration! Clear & to the point. I recently had this problem with my Dyson vacuum cleaner. Stopping and starting. Cleaned the intake route( clogged) and emptied barrel. Problem fixed.
I've taken my Dyson completely apart and thoroughly cleaned everything. I've even cleaned the vacuum motorhead and all electrical contacts and I still have the same problem. It's battery time for me!
Did no one here take a step back and think that, for the price you pay for this thing, you shouldn’t have such a problem in the first place and require you to mess around with all these procedures?! (Good vid btw)
With a very hairy cat, I find that the inlet to the canister can clog, so I check that regularly. Emptying the canister often while using is also inportant. I clean the screens and filters every fortnight.
Cheapest, to first check all filters, most importantly not forgetting the one on back of the motor fan. The one he doesn't check. When you clean it you won't believe it could have caused the stoppage.
Thanks very much for your really easy to follow instruction vid. First and foremost I'm going to give my Dyson a thorough clean (it stinks anyway: we have a dog!). But sure by giving it a proper clean will help. Then I'll get a new battery from Amazon 🇬🇧. And if that fails it'll have to be an "Oh well..." because last think I want to do is spend a bomb on repairs. Really like this as it's lightweight and I can clean the stairs with it so easily. But best of all it's cordless! Got a corded Dyson we've had for about 7yrs. The dog's broke it twice so this is it's lot if he attacks it again. We'll just cut off the cord and park it by his bed cos we believe he actually thinks its a moving/talking/breathing/smelling creature😂!!
Great video, just cleaning it helped already. I've got that battery and fixed the problem. Brilliant instructions. Easy to follow. Thanks, saved my V6!
My problem is that the brush won't spin. Everything is clean, the brushes filters and all electrical contacts. I don't think there is any or enough electrical power coming out of the motor. The motor seems to have plenty of power but it does shut off intermittently......not very often. Would a weak battery allow the motor to run but not enough power to turn the brush?
I have a DC 44 type a version and that doesn’t require you to use a screwdriver to remove the battery. There’s a push button that releases the battery on a type a unit.
Oh thank you so much for doing this. I really thought I was gonna have to buy a new dyson and the prices for someone like me are outrageous. That being said, I haven't tried the fix yet. However, now that I know how to remove and replace the battery (if necessary, after cleaning unit) I'm no longer daunted. Wishing you only good karma...
Always been A Great Helpful Video. Thanks You. Problem Ive got now is my vacuum has stopped working. Only thing coming on is the Flashing Red Light. Would that mean my Vacuum has had it. Or could it be I need a New Battery.
I see you can refurbish their fans. I have two days on fans but the heat is not working. Cold does work. When you use the heat it suddenly increases and begins cooling down and it cannot be shut off with the remote, you have to unplug it. Can this be fixed?
Thanks for the video. My Dyson V8 Absolute will turn on and then off after a couple seconds shut off. This is not the pulsing that is discussed in other areas and it doesnt matter if it is in the max mode or basic mode. When i pull the trigger the unit starts and then immediately shuts off. I have cleaned it completely. And i have taken the battery out to review if there is any issues. Still turns on and then off immediately. Now: The funny part is that if i place my hand over the opening that the wand attaches to, and then pull the trigger the unit will run. Take my hand away and it stops again? The battery has a full charge and the unit is very clean. Any thoughts?????????
Fantastic instructions, thank you, hope when I do all the cleaning etc it will be back to its normal self. I think it might be the battery so will be ordering one as well. Thanks again.

Thanks for making the video. My mum was going to buy a new one as her dyson was intermittent. I watched this and it's sorted. Saved her lots of £££'s👍

I’ve given up on our handheld Dyson and gone back to the DC04. It’s indestructible 20 years old and it’s still going well.
Wow! Thank you! I’m going to order a battery! You just saved me money from not having to buy a new Dyson!

How long do those Abakoo batteries last, I done a battery replace and it didn’t last a year Bill, can you show us how to test the battery
Awesome Bill.
Thank you ordering a battery now. Do you think having it on the charger shortens the life of the battery?
Clean it and change the battery?
Thank you! Very well explained.
Fantastic instructions, thank you, hope when I do all the cleaning etc it will be back to its normal self. I think it might be the battery so will be ordering one as well. Thanks again.
