When I first started doing the Call Me Maybe Squat Challenge I would always have to stop when she did the pulses and sometimes skip half of the plea squats, but after a while playing this video once a day, I can finally do this without a break!! I'm so proud of myself!!! If your having a hard time just remember to keep trying and practice makes perfect!! On the first week of me doing this I was out of breath on the floor dying begging for mercy,but now I feel great and want to repeat it over again!! Its still difficult to do but its way easier than when I first started. Just keep trying and NEVER give up!! :) P.s Remember to stretch before doing this or any workout video don't want to tear a muscle now do we? Nope, so remember to stretch.

Then I managed to do it twice in a row withut pause. Then I managed to do three times in a row without pause, and today, I managed to do two in a row without pause and a third with weights. My next goal is to do it two or three times with weight. This workout really makes you strong!! But it took a loong time. Have faith, keep doing it!

Also I have had knee problems recently and now I'm noticing that you have us doing a lot of the exercises that my physical therapist recommended! +Leah Krone I started seeing results after doing this workout about a week and a half of doing this, and I had done it about 5 times, spacing it out. I could see more definition very quickly! It was amazing. If you want to see results faster, do this with a few other leg/butt workouts.

I can't believe I made it to the end!! I wanted to give up so many times during this because my legs were SCREAMING at me, but I kept going and made it to the end! :D (Though I actually muted the video and played one of my favorite workout songs for extra motivation.) I feel so proud of myself!! And that's not something I say very often...
Shift your weight more towards your heels when you squat down and really squeeze on your way up. You'll still feel it in your quads but more so in your glutes, hope this helps :)
I do this too, and it only hurts the top of my thighs. Perhaps that's becuase my posture is bad, or because my other muscles are stronger? But it sounds like "Gaby Lamarche" has the right idea.
My theory for this, especially if you are a beginner, is it does work your butt a little but because your thighs are weak, they need to strengthen a little bit before all the booty magic happens. I know that I find it easier to do now and also, I had the posture pretty spot on at the beginning and it hurt my thighs more than my butt. If you wanna force your butt to work, do bridge raises. My butt hurt for 2 days after I tried that for the first time haha
i don't know how i got thus back in time, but this was amazing. you had then the same incredible energy you have today. us, viewers, don't see that much around youtube anymore. big hug!
Back in december, the first time i did this challenge, i surprisingly got all the way through the video. And now, my thighs still burn but the pain has definitely eased since :) honestly the key to this challenge is learning to distract yourself from the pain. If you feel a little dizzy or nausea, stare at one spot and just listen to cassey. I usually stare at the painting behind her. good luck!

Typically if you feel your quads when you squat, you're not doing them properly. I have noticed a lot of fitness professionals teaching squats wrong and unfortunately this is no exception. You should keep an upright posture and sit back as you squat. If you are "quad dominant" (which most people are from doing years of improper squats) I like to recommend clients to try and lift their toes up slightly while they sit into a squat. It will force you're weight to shift back-activating your glutes or exploiting how tight your hips are- which will limit the ideal full range squat position (squatting low enough so your hip crease is below your knee). Healthy bodies should be able to do this full range...if you can't, you may need to spend time loosening up your hips and re-programming your body to activate your glutes (good) vs quads (bad).
Still my favourite challenge of all time. I've probably commented on this over the past few years but I always return to it when I get into a work-out binge.

Typically if you feel your quads when you squat, you're not doing them properly. I have noticed a lot of fitness professionals teaching squats wrong and unfortunately this is no exception. You should keep an upright posture and sit back as you squat. If you are "quad dominant" (which most people are from doing years of improper squats) I like to recommend clients to try and lift their toes up slightly while they sit into a squat. It will force you're weight to shift back-activating your glutes or exploiting how tight your hips are- which will limit the ideal full range squat position (squatting low enough so your hip crease is below your knee). Healthy bodies should be able to do this full range...if you can't, you may need to spend time loosening up your hips and re-programming your body to activate your glutes (good) vs quads (bad).
