I have the exact same car with the same tafetta white color that is badly oxidized. Thanks for the video. I was thinking more like a finishing polish as the paint is delicate and seal it with Gyeon can coat.
I’ve seen this over the years when I worked at the dealership. These white single stage vehicles are ordered this way by a company called wheels that is a commercial lease company. These cars are used for parts delivery by Napa and Advance auto parts. I’ve seen Toyota corrolla’s,Pontiac matrix and Nissan sentra’s like this.
Yeah its weird. both Honda and Toyota for a few years in the early to mid 2000's used single stage what paint. it was just the white paint that was single stage.
Try out the Meguiars DFC6 foam cutting pads for oxidation removal. I saw Larry Kosilla use this pad on a red vehicle with single stage paint on it and I've use it on an oxidized '73 Cadillac and they work great. They remove the oxidation and take the paint up into the pad so they don't get gummed up as quickly and are easy to clean out.
Do you find that it helps to use any type of cleaner/degreaser on paint to prep before hand? I’ve worked on some of those older Toyota era cars as well. Did one so oxidized it was rough to the touch. Had to clay bar it just to smooth it out and remove the top layer of dead paint.
Hi. Yes so our other channel @mirandadetailing will explain lots of methods and techniques like that. ua-cam.com/video/So1U8zW2dC4/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/dl16KJyI1v0/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/CGBbYtdDqhw/v-deo.html We also always either use a clay bar or clay mitt or towel to remove bonded grittiness and contamination.
Great video. What are your thoughts on applying a ceramic coating after polishing the oxidation? Do you think it would help prevent the oxidation from coming back as fast? I had done a truck about a year ago I think, that's a work truck, with heavy oxidation and was able to remove it. It looks like some oxidation is coming back. I have a little bit of a coating leftover and was thinking of giving it a shot on the hood of the work truck just to see what happens.
Thanks! For single stage paint like this it’s difficult to say. Once the paint starts to oxidize like this even a ceramic coating has trouble keeping it from returning. Single stage paint is horrible! If it’s clear coat oxidation, it’s a little different. A coating should be able to fight that off, unless the paint is already to thinning and starting to fail.
@@thedetailingworkshop2689 Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to give it a try. It's just their work truck that sits outside all day everyday and never gets washed.
Hey Phil! Agree! I angle the polisher so there’s rarely a need to tape off as well. 🦉 👍🏼👍🏼

Love that SPTA version 2 polisher. It works as if it has a 21mm throw and minimal vibration. Awesome transformation.
Another great information. Thanks
you answered all my questions in this video! that's why I keep coming back! thanks 👍 you da man !
Great videos definitely learned a lot!!
Great job

Hi. Yeah we have seen Toyota Sequoias, Camrys, Honda Odysseys, Accords, Civics, it’s annoying.
I’m surprised a vehicle this “new” still has single stage paint!
Thanks for the tips!

Nice pro tips. These are my favorite types of jobs. Great 2 for 1 with the right combo tool/product
Thanks!
I dealt with this today on a 2001 Toyota Corolla. I saw first hand the gumming up on my orange foam pad. Great info in this one. Thanks Phil
It’s annoying right?! Compressed air helps clean those out but you have to clean them out after each section.
@@thedetailingworkshop2689 yep I was blowing out after every pass
How did I not know you had this channel ?? thank goodness for that honda

Hi. Oh yeah we have used those before. They still get gummed up but they are easier to blow out. Thanks for sharing!😎👍🏼
Good to see the SPTA still going strong 😁👍 white paint seems to oxidise a lot or is that just me 🤔
Totally!
This is white single stage paint. White clear coated paint doesn’t oxidize like this.

Btw how do you get your extra batteries for SPTA polisher
Hi. I got these because Makita batteries fit! amzn.to/3UYmnGI and Charger amzn.to/3fwbzzr
Great they got it there.but bummer Amazon doesn't ship to Hawaii. Due to fire hazard. Shucks...But at least I know Makita fit Thank you
Sorry Man. I didn't know that.

@@ddautodetailinghow did it work out after applying the ceramic coating?
@@roypacheco6122 I have not been able to trying out yet.
Would 3d speed or 3done work for this? Or maybe diy gold standard polish?
Hi. Actually any of those would work, I always do a test spot and see which works better on each vehicle.
Cool. I think you said this was single stage paint? Hi wife.
Yes it is single stage paint.
