Great tips Phil. I have had many a customer ask for just this or just that, and the answer is No! The customers I have built my business on are mainly the daily driver. I offer full detailing with a headlight restoration and engine bay cleaning options and that’s it. I just don’t have the time to mess around with several services. Keep up the great videos .
This definitely helps a ton! I have been watching your videos since the beginning. Just now realized you are not that far from where I live! I'm in the Raliegh, NC. Specially the Holly Springs area which definitely has more money. I think I'm going to do something similar. I know I don't want to compete with the guy flipping 10 cars a day. I'd rather do one or two a day and do full details. Feel like it is harder to start that way though. Also, may be easier because can avoid the 30 different options or "call for a quote," that most detailers have around here.
Phil, excellent advice. Keep it simple for the customer. My current maintenance clients when referring someone for my services often notate, James is not a $20 wash/wax. Bring your checkbook. I miss Mister. 🐱
Basic exterior- Body wash, windows, wheels and tires- $40 sedan $50 truck/suv $60 3 row and bigger/ lifted truck Basic interior- vacuum, windows, dash and console clean, seat wipe down, floor mats, door panels- $45 sedan $55 truck/suv $65 3 row and bigger/ lifted truck Combined- all from basic in and out- $70 sedan $85 truck/suv $110 bigger lifted truck or 3 row Any critiques are welcome I’m brand new to this
That's exactly how we started. No problems with starting with those prices to get started. We quickly learned that we need to upgrade our services and raise our prices after a few months. we were burning out and not making enough. Talk your time, calculate the cost and expense of running the business and slowly raise the prices to match your quality of service as you get better and faster.
Phil awesome tutorial great for new comers and mobile detailers great tips and ideas as always be safe god bless William from extreme optimum auto detailing pr
Great video and great advice Phil. Been working on my website and yes, limited packages. Simple and easy to understand. Thank you for making these videos!
I offer a maintenance package also BUT only if you buy a full detail and I get to see the vehicle 1 time a month . You don’t book ever month you loose your special price .
I want to detail and have a customer base but I don't want to be full blown company I just want to keep my customer volume low. I really just want to keep it simple. I don't really need the extra income but I really do enjoy detailing.
This is great stuff. I was looking for a place that gave advice on business side also training side of detailing. Any more info for a possible new business is greatly appreciated. Ill be watching all videos on this channel. 💪🏽
If all your packages include a clay bar what do u do about marring from the clay bar process? I noticed some of ur packages state u will do a polish but one doesn’t say anything about polishing?
If we do have to clay bar and it leaves some marring we use machine apply a wax or sealant to remove them, we will never leave marring on the vehicle. We always do what we need to do, we always go above and beyond. We don't consider that true polishing, when we apply any liquid wax or sealant with a soft pad it has a mechanical cleaning action that removes any minor marring.
@@thedetailingworkshop2689 thanks for taking the time to answer my question. What type of pad would u use when applying sealant to remove the marring? Do you use just a sealant or an AIO? Thanks again and love the video it’s helping me a ton
You’re welcome. We simply use a soft red or black wax pad and some sort of cleaner type wax or sometimes an AIO. Our favorite one is Megs Finishing Wax D301 amzn.to/2QiGPFj
Great advice. Now.....I hate interior cleaning/detailing. Cars are usually hammered, and I'm afraid of getting sick from all the crap inside of the vehicle. Especially now a days. Nope. Not doing it. Staying outside stuff.
Really? Sorry I thought that was pretty self explanatory. I basic detail is just a wash and quick interior vacuum and wipe down. A full detail will include a more in depth wash, clay bar, wax or sealant, and a thorough interior cleaning with some sort of steaming or extraction to clean leathers, cloth seats, and carpets. The thing is each detailer will have slightly different versions of what they deem a full detail. Some add polishing also.
Hiy name is Ismael and i follow your channel and learn a lot from your videos l would like to know about training online and one to one I will call you to check it out. Thanks.
Wow! That’s awesome for you! Not the case here though. Takes us longer and people hate paying more than $175 for a full interior here. Demographics play a huge role. But again awesome for you! Keep on doing it! 😎👍🏼

Watched this a few times, thinking of phasing out the interior only like you said sometimes can lose money and people lie about condition when it shows up Also tough to decide sizing on cars feel like there are 2-4 different overall vehicle sizes idk
Phil. Great advice. I have to agree with keeping packages simple and straightforward as to not overwhelm customers.
So far best advice for pricing I have seen out there man ur a king.

How much do you charge for a maintenance detail?
Great video. I hate interior details as well - they always turn into a huge time suck.
