- Best Detroit Neighborhoods | Living In Detroit Downtown, Corktown, Midtown, and a host more of the best neighborhoods in Detroit are featured in this video, which are also some of Detroit's most popular and prominent neighborhoods. Detroit is full of bustling neighborhoods like Corktown and Midtown in the downtown Detroit area. People don't realize Detroit isnt all blight and crime, as I showcase some Detroit Neighborhoods who have multiple million dollar homes within its boundaries.
We show the homes, the neighborhoods, and give you a look at what it will cost you to move into one of these communities. Detroit gets a bad wrap from the media, and they never tell you about the multi million dollar homes that you can buy in the city of Detroit. This video gives you a glimpse of these properties.
If you're thinking of making a move to Metro Detroit, lets talk about how I can help make the transition easy for you!

Detroit is such a beautiful place!
It really is, so much history and beautiful architecture. Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
Yes it is.
Your videos are the best!
Appreciate you Greg!
Awesome, positive and enjoyable video. Makes me want to relocate to Detroit
See! 😊 that’s why I took slight offense to your last comment. That’s only one of two videos that I actually bring up negatives in the city. Thanks for continuing to watch!
Excellent video
Another area you might want to spotlight is Greenwich Park on Detroit's west side. There are beautiful homes there, particularly on Outer Dr. and Vassar Ave. It’s bound by Pembroke Ave., 7 Mile Rd., Schaefer Hwy. and Meyers Rd.
Yes sir! My latest video highlights the 48235 Zip, too many great neighborhoods in that zip, so I did it that way. Love those houses there. 👍🏾

@@EdButlerDetroit That’s wassup. Thank you!
Hey man, really great video. I just have one correction. The Palmer Woods neighborhood is not named after "Thomas Woods."
It is named after "Thomas Palmer." Thomas Palmer was a prominent citizen of nineteenth-century Detroit who was also United States Senator.
Thanks for watching, yep I was speaking of the same person, the context and story is true, just slipped up on the last name and didn’t catch it until I was editing.
Detroit looks wonderful, I cannot wait to come visit this year.
Great information, thanks Ed for this nice content
Thanks Fero! I appreciate the feedback.
I'm surprised you didnt include Rosedale Park/Grandmont areas.
I'd love to see more neighborhoods featured on a future episode.
He stated he didn't get to some other areas in this video.which are other Beautiful Homes in Detroit.
Yes I live around the corner from there in Rosedale Park.
Detroit has so many beautiful neighborhoods and you did a great job showcasing them!
I appreciate that man! 🤝
Your videos are extremely helpful! I'm moving to Detroit this summer and these videos have me feeling readyyyyyy.
That’s awesome to hear! Welcome to the city! Stay tuned more to come! 👍🏾
How are you liking Detroit so far
I have loved Detroit since I moed there in 79. I now live in Germany, but make it home from time to time. I'm a product of Detroit Central's class of '84. As stated before I'm reppin' our great city from here. Can't wait to see Greek town again. Mr. Butler thanks for the video.
U don't live here u left for a good reason
@@DdoubleU979 left for military service, still work for the military, but Detroit is my home of record.
I havent been to Detroit besides in a big rig but plan on coming up soon and man you just added so much more i gotta check out when im there
Awesome! Come check us out in the Summer or Fall, you’ll definitely enjoy it!
Love how you advertise Detroit Ed, need more positive people sharing the love of our great rust belt cities! Keep sharing the love!
I’m visiting in the spring for my birthday! Your videos are super helpful and I’d be open to moving there one day! I’m an Austin local looking for a change of scenery
This is an excellent video, Ed. Thank you VERY much for making it. I'm a born and bred Detroiter who still enjoys riding around various parts of the city admiring its amazing architecture. Thanks for displaying in living color that war-torn-looking blocks do not represent most of what Motown has to offer.
🙏🏾 People don’t realize how much beauty there still is here!
@@EdButlerDetroit 💯! I've just subscribed to your channel and look forward to more great info.
You'll die going to the corner store in the car U WORKED HARD for or yo teenage son will be beaten and robbed and killed for his clothing those prices are crazy when u don't have police schools are the worst in the country and car insurance is also worst I the country so how is Detroit good we all see the innocent ppl getting killed on tv for going about they daily live activities
Great places all! And Detroit is the comeback city!
Thanks for watching! Appreciate all your doing on your channel for the city! 💪🏾
What an absolute great video I lived in gross point for a couple of years and drove through a lot of those neighborhoods and yes you're right the homes are absolutely gorgeous people only see the bad on the videos on UA-cam on UA-cam thank you for doing this hope you get some good sales
Thanks Robert I appreciate that!
Thank you so much.for showing the Beautiful Homes in Detroit.I live Northwest side in Rosedale Park.I really appreciate your video.
Great Video Ed!!! Keep em coming!!!!
Thanks my man!
Hi there! Honestly, I think you forgot a few A- list neighborhoods. As a native of Detroit being raised in the Boston Edison district (48206). I am a bit surprised that it is not on your list of best places to live in Detroit. Truly, I hope to see my neighborhood and a few others! Examples: West outer drive, Rosedale park and Oak man Blvd.
Hey Hey Thanks for watching! I agree Boston Edison definitely could have made this list, just didn’t want the video being too long. I did highlight it in another video listing the top historical districts in Detroit.
It’s certainly tops on my list of neighborhoods for people moving to Detroit who want a great house for the money.
Detroit Proper, love it.
Thanks!
No problem, thanks for watching!
great video...ill be moving there soon
Thanks! Let me know if you need any help with the move.
I like your positivity and as someone who grew up in Corktown and Southwest in the 70's and 80's, I am amazed at what I see happening there. The demographics shifted and most of the bad actors left one way or another. Unfortunately many of them went to places like Chicago, St Louis, and other cities where they spread the virus that beat Detroit down. Pray that they don't turn on the social services money, or you will get return customers that you really don't want back.
6 Palmer woods
5 corktown
4 midtown
3 Indian village
2 east English village
1 Sherwood Forrest
Green Acres !
Boston Edison District !!!!!!!!!!
Great show Ed!
How is East English Village listed but not Boston Edison, Arden Park or Joseph Berry? 😆 Mowtown Mansion, Fisher Mansion, Manoogian Masion (where the mayor lives)...might be a little bias here but it's all love ✊🏾
Definitely a little bias, and I wanted to get at least one area on the Eastside. But totally agree a ton of other great areas that deserved a spot.
East English villiage is my favorite part of the Eastside
I like Sherwood Forest I grew up there on Warrington
I like North Rosedale park and Rosedale Park!
Yea, i took some investor clients thru Sherwood Forest today, and their minds where blown! Didn’t expect that from the city.
Ed Butler - Detroit all the big houses I call them Mansions but Palmer Park might have the bigger houses which is next door. I’m sure they got to see the attractive Avenue of Fashion!
Good content and information, but you really need to include Outer Drive West( Greenich), Rosedale Park and North Rosedale, BOSTON EDISON, Golf District.
Thanks for sharing… have you done a vid on Riverfront condos/homes?
I grew up in Detroit in the 1960s - I remember the '68 Tigers World Series. We lived in the neighborhood around McNichols (6 Mile Rd) and Greenfield, near Outer Drive West. What is that neighborhood like these days? I am in SoCal but am thinking about moving back to my hometown Detroit, but I don't know where to begin looking. At my age, I would prefer a condo to a house to avoid snow removal and yard work.
You know there are some good things happening in that area, mostly Rosedale Park carrying the load. It would a bad move, a nice condo on the river could be a good fit! 👍🏾
I lived in Indian Village, and now live in Morningside, a few blocks from EEV!
No better than any other neighborhood police still not coming and schools are terrible and police don't come....We all kno its 100x better in the suburbs for any family especially if u have kids no freaking way I'll raise kids in Detroit
Great video,
Thanks Leon!
Awesome Content man. Do you work with investors?
Wow!!! Almost 600K for Corktown!
These homes that cost only $1,000... I'm thinking they might cost a lot more to fix up, and you have only have 6 months to fix up.
Wow though, I grew up there and I would have thought those expensive houses were in the suburbs!! Thanks for the video!!
Amazing content!! I have a question. I stay in midtown and currently looking to upgrade to a home due to a new addition. Where kind i find quality homes to rent in detroit and surrounding areas.
Thanks Raine, I appreciate that! Congrats on the upcoming addition to the family. I could send you over some homes that are for rent on the MLS in the city and Metro. Shoot me over an email with your price range and preferred area. Edgar@soldbythebutler.com 👍🏾
I notice you never include Rosedale Park/Grandmont Community in your Best of Detroit videos. Why?
You know honestly I have really slept on those neighborhoods. They’re for sure be in future videos more
Hola amigo! Soy Carmen Bello. Un gusto ver tu programas acerca de tu ciudad. Te preguntó : Es agradable vivir en tu ciudad?
North Rosedale Park??
He left out Boston Edison.
Yea, missed it on this one, but covered it in another video for sure!
As with any place in Detroit..know who you are opening your door to.
Sherwood Forest, to me, is the best neighborhood in Detroit. Knew kids who lived in the mansions there when I was a kid. I'm sick of Briggs, Nick Johnson, and Charlie Bo showing strictly the rough areas of the city and not showing the nice neighborhoods.
Exactly people love the shock value, but I’m not trying to be that guy. Appreciate you
Good job, but one correction. Senator Thomas PALMER donated that land (hence Palmer Park). He was also a former ambassador to Spain.
Nice video, but you forgot the number one neighborhood. My home: WEST VILLAGE!
West village is definitely making some noise these days!
Eastside!!!
I really gotta ask, what's the status on I-375? I am stuck down here in Florida and I've always been fascinated with the city, and I am wondering... Are they going to finally get rid of it or simply raise it?
No resolution has come from it yet, there was money proposed to redesign it but, that got repurposed last year, so its sort of in a holding pattern now.
ninjas be sleep on detroit. just them winters i have trouble with
100%
No Boston-Edison?
This definitely should have made the cut, but I’ll save it for a future video! 👍🏾
Informative, helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Where can I find duplex and triplexes between $100k - $250k?
All over the city in that price range. Shoot me an email, and I can get you a list. Edgar@soldbythebutler.com
BOSTON-EDISON DISTRICT OF COURSE..IF IT NOT LISTED...I WONT B ABLE TO AGREE..NOW LETS SEE IF I AGREE LOL🤣🤣💯😍u named some good ones..but u left out my hood..n IT made me sad 🤣🤣🤣💯 we got HITVILLE..DOESN'T THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO YALL COOOOMMMEEEOOONNN..WE NEED A LIL POLISHING, YES BUT WE NICE FROM GLYNN TO GRAND BLVD!! DNT PLAY US 🤣🤣🤣🤷♀️💪💪💪🤴🏿👸🏽💯😍
What you're forgetting to tell these people are that these nice neighborhoods are surrounded by filth and poverty. Especially those living close to the edge of these communities. Just cross the street and you're in ghetto land paradise.
don't speak on Detroit if you ain't been there 👮♂️🤡
@@goodnight3663 Life long Eastside resident until recently. Right there on Gunston Avenue by the 9th precinct. I've been all over Detroit. I speak from experience.
I also lived in that area but he never said it wasn’t any bad look neighborhoods in Detroit he pointing out the good ones how about talking about that instead trash talking the city
@@ryanscott4866 💯
are there any newly built sub divisions ?
Not really in the city itself, most of the new builds are condos, or one off houses.
So what about new homes south of East Jefferson and the home with the Motown artists names near the wayne state area … and I guess ( for Detroit ) Virginia park area could be considered newer in comparison to Detroit’s housing stock at large
Boston edison? The largest historic neighborhood in the nation.
Yea I’m definitely making a follow up video and adding it for sure!
Midtown Baby!!!1!
Yes sir! I know you Wayne State Alums got a special place in y’all heart for Midtown
Ontario is nothing like Detroit it’s honestly sad, but Detroit has some areas left
Detroit been had good area and it’s only improving, not all going to happen over night but the city moving in the right direction
I need you.. help
I wish we could push all the nasty folks to another city and get more that care for Detroit to come help us get to Toronto level
??? Wow just wow. Please stay where u at
:)
I watched and thumbs up you... BUT this review was ridiculous.. Detroit is Detroit.. from the west to the east is the same.. there a re some areas with bigger homes but it's still Detroit.. everyone has to deal with the same B.S. same cops same services and no matter what area you live in your just a short walk from a ghetto.. I live here in Detroit and if you don't know .. now you know..
🤔 REALLY ? are you SURE you are not JUST here TROLLING ? If you lived here and are THAT dissatisfied why HAVEN'T you put yourself in a position to MOVE OUT …. I’m assuming you aren’t doing ANYTHING to IMPROVE YOUR SURROUNDINGS here !
@brucebeamon5460 if you lived here you would understand..
