Glad to hear about East English Village (although we didn't call it that back when I grew up, four doors down from The Cadieux Cafe, in the 50's and 60's.) It looks just as nice now as it did then.

@@EdButlerDetroit We didn't have a specific name, other than "far East Detroit'. Of course, the houses around that area (on Cadieux, S of Warren) weren't of the 'English' Style. Most were built after the war, for returning veterans (like my father).

Hey Ed Good Video bro. Great job reppin' for Detroit. I'm New to real estate investing and I'm going to be reaching out to you soon. Plus, Some other areas of Detroit that may be some hidden gems are Eastpointe (48509) (the area near the old Eastland Mall).. I think it may be on the come up on development + maybe Conant Gardens area (6mile & Conant - 48234) one of the first historically Black neighborhoods in Detroit.

Hi there. I am a Canadian that found myself contemplating buying a rental property in Detroit. It's only been 4 days since I discovered how cheap properties are over there and Detroit is only 6 hours ride from where I live in Canada, Sudbury. Is there any way you and I can have a private conversation? Because my realtor, as well as another friend of mine told me the reason real estate is so affordable in Detroit us because the neighborhood are so bad, the crime rate, tenants not paying rent, and houses there do not appreciate. So, I'd like an insight from someone that lives there and know their topic. Please and thank you.

Detroit's taxes are still higher than the suburbs. Detroit thinks that it can compensate for loss of corporate tax revenue by bilking residents. If they would just make Detroit a more hospitable place for business, like it was 100 years ago, that would help a lot.

I’m definitely biased because I’m a big fan of my city, I’d say if you want something already well established and don’t like the seasons then Texas may be a good bet.
But if you want to be apart of something being created, and like to enjoy some seasonal changes. Detroit could be your place!
