I like this version. His hatred was much more gradual and centered on various beings including both the Jedi and his master. So far, the story goes in canon that Maul had inhaled the ashes of long dead Sith Lords and their hatred for the Jedi was given to Maul. Very cheap.

It really depends on how many sith there were before they were all killed. Cause if there were 100000 sith then two sith only make up about .00002% however when I really get to thinking about Darth Bane killed them all by gathering them in a single cave and 100000 sith could not fit in a single cave or would be present at the same time. So counting only the ones Bane wiped out I think it's a safe guess there were around 100 any ways making 98% make sense. This however is based of legends and diseny could easily change how Bane accomplished this which could also change everything thus stated.

Darth Maul was obviously a product of trauma-based mind control. Darth Tyranus, on the other hand, was not, as he was *already* a Jedi master *before* becoming Darth Sidious' apprentice. Does not the contrast between how Sidious trained Maul and how he trained Dooku make for an interesting story, in and of itself?
It's interesting for Dooku. In an attempt to maintain his identity throughout his Sith training, he ended up becoming a sociopath who had little care for others. In fact, the only Jedi still alive by the start of the Clone Wars that he cared for positively, was Obi Wan Kenobi (due to his connection to Qui Gon).
Wow. When I first saw Darth Maul when I saw the Phantom Menace I wouldn't have ever thought I would feel sympathy for him. And now I do. Especially after I saw the Twin Suns episode of rebels.

I remembered reading a novel as a pre teen about darth mauls upbringing and how at one point he was taking part in a apprentice ship on a planet that trains assassins and he made all sorts of friends. Kind of. Darth Plagueis forced Palpatine on an ice planet to draw out his apprentice's anger and hatred and developed his skill in using the dark side. But after that, Plagueis slowly began to warm up and trust Palpatine.

You forgot to mention that he bite of another students nose when he first joined the academy and that mother talzin found and abducted maul after he was about to finish the academy's I guess you could say final test which was basically surviving by himself for about a week and also about him easily killing a mandalorian trainer by throwing him into a fireplace said trainer was also the reason maul was able to be taken by mother talzin if I remember correctly cause the trainer found out after maul sorta used one of his force powers

You forgot to mention that he bite of another students nose when he first joined the academy and that mother talzin found and abducted maul after he was about to finish the academy's I guess you could say final test which was
basically surviving by himself for about a week and also about him easily killing a mandalorian trainer by throwing him into a fireplace said trainer was also the reason maul was able to be taken by mother talzin if I remember correctly cause the trainer found out after maul sorta used one of his force powers
I read the whole darth maul book when i was in the 6th grade. And it still is one of my favorite books of all time
