I'm 61 and have grown up on a lot of different women voices and by far Amy's is the greatest!
Amy Lee has such a beautiful voice ! Supposedly, it's about the "spirit" of her loved one who died, won't leave her alone.
Amy's sister died when they were young. She has said in interviews that she wrote the song about her. But it fits with a bad break up too. I love the symbolism in the video.

@@newgrl Ben Moody wrote the lyrics inspired by his Grandfather and his passing. Amy wrote Hello for her deceased sister, another haunting performance by the Great Amy Lee.
Also on their Open Door Album the song 'Like You' has links to her sister who died. A very deep and dark song.

This song was playing when we got the call from the Dr. that i have cancer and there is nothing they can do. i sat on my husbands lap and we both cried for a long time, we have been together since we were very young looks like that is all there is left no more time. You know this year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Fallen, their breakthrough album which included both Bring me to life and My Immortal among other hits. They just released a couple of days ago a previously unreleased demo of Bring me to life they did in 2002. You should check it out. It’s in their UA-cam channel

There's a version of this song where that end portion is a really beautiful piano, way more involved than what had been used through the rest of the song. But this one here where it shifts to rock is my favorite.

saw Evanescence live last year with Within Temptation after them ,she had a little vocal problem but the still sounded good. im happy she didnt cancel it. cause it was prosponed for 2 years cause of corona.

I can tell you this song epitomizes what it's like to live with an alcoholic or addict for 30 plus years and clean up their messes for them. I always get something in my eye when I hear this song.

Kasey is renown for how much emotion she dumps into her singing - she really brings out all of the emotions that Eminem piled into that song.

The best part about this version of this song is that this is what’s considered the “band version” the original track on the album was the piano version, much softer. This was actually a hidden bonus track that people only knew about if they listened all the way to the end of the album. I remember getting this album when I was younger and hearing this version for the first time, I was just so excited for the band to pick up towards the end!

The band and Amy Lee especially have had a rough go at it, she lost 2 siblings and the band was forced to break up at one point when the label insisted on a male lead singer and they wouldn't do it. Eventually they gave in and got back together. But they've had more trouble since then too.

Going Under is similar in style to Bring Me To Life. If you wanted something like this one then Hello is the way to go. Genuinely haunting.
I believe this song is about the loss of her sister if I'm not mistaken.. if you keep that mind while listening it's a bit harder hitting.
Love Evanescence. Amy's voice is something else. Everyone's going to throw out a bunch of their singles and those are worth checking out, but I'll toss out Your Star as a song you should listen to.
