You have liquid in your geo plant, that messes with the pressure A LOT, by like 20+ kg per tile in the top row. That would explain why the pressure isn't going down.
I've been told that the Geothermal Plant is mass negative at 8%, to account for the solids with each cycle. That matches with what I've seen with mine.
It deleates 8% of the mass you input, but it also creates a few extra materials, such as obsidian, rust, but most importantly, polluted water and salt water, wich comes out as hot steam, salt and dirt. So while you do loose a bit of the original 12 tons of water, you gain around 700 kg back. So if the input liquid is water, then you can pretty much not care about it.
Now here’s a thought how about limiting the amount of liquid that you have going through so it will always freeze when released from the vent so you won’t have to dig it up and lose 50% of the mass. I know you have a huge amount of water but this could be a thought on planets with a low amount of water
How about pump up geotermal plant? I mean you can get all sorts of minerals from it. Even liquid Niobium I believe, if you make input hot enough. Expirementing with geopower was the main idea of this colony after all
Can't wait get a series where Echo reviews the viewers Bases from time to time... I made individual Geo Vent setups that never overpressures and uses 4 Steam Turbines each with a little outsourced water input, the Turbines never go off and has been running for over 1000 cycles
On top of my head, two ways to freeze water without loosing 50% mass to digging: 1. Pump it through radiant pipes at 1 kg/s flow. 2. Use mesh tiles similar to how Tony Advanced ONI volcano tamer works, except you'll have a cold room filled with nectar/ethanol, not steam.
@@izplus Auto-Bottling, refers to when there is a need for the liquid at the bottom of the pitcher pump and you want to move it manually. You have two ways of moving liquids (Pipes and Pitcher pump in the form of a bottle).
Couple of sugestions: the liquid vents can automate themselfs, just put them in the ground. Besides, you always want some ice there so when it is needed you don't need to wait for the water to freeze. Therefore, I would put the automation form the bins in the miners, not the water input.
Yeah, I don't think the water is gonna sit there and freeze at >800kg, so the automation from bins should go for the liquid vents, that sits in the floor, but I don't think u need any more automation and no liquid shutoff.

In my playtrough the geothermal is a water positive event, altough everyone saying it shouldn't be. What i did is, i have a pressure sensor, if the pressure is above 75 KG i take out water from a steamturbine into a storage tank. Not sure how many cycles it took but i got 3 full tanks allready of 95C water :D.
The ability of the autosweeper to feed the ice maker is an optional feature of the No Manual Delivery mod, which I (and apparently a bunch of other people) had forgotten it had. It took me about half an hour of disabling mods a few at a time to figure that out, after looking through the list and failing to find anything that looked related.
I was part of the group saying that the sweeper works for transferring water. I tested a setup I had seen before of a sweeper sucking up molten glass out of a volcano into a bottle emptier and it isn't working either. It seems like the sweeper can only move molten metals now. Perhaps it was changed in the DLC update. It wont even use already filled bottles anymore.
Hello Echo, maybe you should consider getting the paint your pipes Mod. It allows you to change the colors of your pipes allowing you to see them better. It allows to paint gas and wires too I believe. Thanks for another fun video. 😊
In the one geothermal plant I've built since the DLC came out, I sent all the water from the turbines back into the geothermal plant with a little extra added to make up for shortfalls and it ran almost flawlessly. And given how this game continually kicks me in the taint, I'll take "almost flawlessly" any day of the week.
18:42 Yes, supposedly the geothermal had some % of mass deletion. I noticed that my geothermal plants couldnt keep up. so I put an infinite water storage between the steam turbines and the geothermal plant. This is a close loop, no external feeding, and somehow my infinite storage has around 350 tons of water and keeps growing.
New project "automated" ice/snow making. Use the zombie spore to make robots. Put the pitcher pumps and ice makers in rooms restricted for dupes. Make them priority 9 so the zombie robots always priority them. Will it work ?
Your new ice factory is extremely similar to the design I went with that I mentioned in the comments of your last video. From playing with it I found that it makes ice extremely quickly and you'll struggle to use it all. I used Thermium and super coolant to maximise efficiency as I did it much later on when I ran out of natural ice.
I believe that a sweeper will take "some" liquids from a pitcher pump to a bottle emptier. I have seen Magma moved in this way... I think it was FJ. I seem to recall being told that it will not transport water (as you demonstrated). I am not sure if it excludes "All" waters, or just clean water. Should be easy to test with Oil if you wanted to.
Nice drip ice farm! Used what i said last time on a different level. Try using mercury on mercury lights on solar power. It works great. I know you dont need power but it is a great source on the frosty planet.
I meant to put this comment on the last video, but you made a new video before I had the chance :D You can reduce the automation in the oxygen factory by using conveyor receptacles on priority 1 for the auto sweepers to fill the smart storage. Then you only need automation from the smart storage to turn off the ice production. Or you could have a sensor on the line shut off the ice production when the shipping line is full for a certain amount of time. Although it was neat to see how you made all that automation work. I love these videos!!
15:58 you missed the most important part of the reason there are two in each line. if there was only one not gate then the buss line would back feed to the not gates shutting the vent even when the smart storage on that row isn't full. it's job isn't just to flip the signal, it's also there to isolate the source. much like a Diode
15:55 Hello Echo why not try with rail sensor, so you don't have to put automation on every smart storage bin, and the machines stop working when the rail is chalk full of ice
I feel like it would be more efficient to set the hydro sensors lower to make sure that the amount of water being frozen will always be small enough to freeze into debris instead of tiles, so you save both water and power (eliminating the robo-miners).
Instead of injecting water directly into the pump, im droping it into the steam room. This is controlled by an atmo sensor that checks for less than 20kg of steam before letting in more whater. Then i have one of 9 steam turbines output to the steam room and the others redirect all their output to refill the the pump. I see that the atmo sensor lets just a bit of whater in (about 1t in 12 cycles) so i guess its not whater positive, you lose a bit, but i haven't test this extensively. Im only using one of the vents, but i didn't have overpresure issues yet, and its been running for 100+ cycles
pretty sure the auto-swepper cannot pick up water from pitcher pumps. it can pick up molten niobium, i've seen it do that in a francis john video i think, but it never worked with water for me.
7:49 i see you have zombie spores in your carbon dioxide by the ton of bamoth paddys, only 54 spores, and your ice setup i think you could triple each set up, like add 2 more drop points making 3 bowls each
Get the Mod that allows larger power rooms to 240 tiles. 96 tiles is just waay to small. you new improved Ice maker looks better. I dont think the whole floor was necessary just a single chilled tile where the drip occurs with a bunch of thermal mass behind it so it doesn't heat up too quickly if you need alot of Ice at one time, which you dont seem to need at this point. Might want to insulate that area better, just so the chill isnt bleeding out, but since you prechilled the water i dont think it will be an issue like you pointed out. Next project, clear the map clean the air. let it run for 100 cycles by itself while you sweep the colony to check its self-sufficiency. and move on to your next game.!! Game on Echo.
Seeing as mining a tile looses half the mass wouldn't it be way way better to limit it so that it never makes a tile? Even if you've got enough water that losing half of it is basically irrelevant that's still going to mean you need to cool down twice as much water to get the amount of ice you want.
It sounds like you are looking for a new series. Would you be interested in doing the mutate all plants? Essentially a new farm series, but you only need a few of every plant.

if you freeze the water inside a mesh tile - it will form debris instead of full tile, so no excavation needed.
