Part of what makes these performances so incredible is that there is not a single person in the entire place who is not smiling and just having a blast. Tommy, the kids, the audience all just having an absolute blast. And creating an incredible experience these kids will get to talk about for the rest of their lives.
Yes, but there is ONE young lady playing the violin that looks totally miserable.........they show her in EVERY one of these videos......but it is a HUGE KUDO that the kids are enjoying it so much and the conductor rocks!!!!
@@spinnerjo01 Its also called taking this gig seriously. She is more than likely concentrating on her music and the Maestro. And that is the making of a great musician. Myself,as a professional drummer had a habit of frowning while playing. I was concentrating. That's all!

@@keithhudson8205 I watch both of my grandsons, one plays the viola, the other plays the violin, as they concentrate on the sheet music and getting their part of their presentations right. As a result, they look dead serious on the stage. BUT, they’re teenagers and they love what they’re doing with their classmates. BTW - I am often accused of looking angry when I’m concentrating on something - whether it’s something I’m learning or that is being said to me or a project I’m working on…and sometimes when I’m playing guitar; an instrument I have enjoyed for the last 59 years…and counting!

These talented, young students weren't even born when Tommy Shaw & Styx music came out! But I see the parents in the audience who were, singing along! Tommy's voice is still incredible, infectious & energetic as ever. This concert is awesome! Thank you Tommy & company!!

I love this! I'm just picturing all the kids wondering what the heck happened to their parents. The dads rocking out and the moms reliving their high school crushes on Tommy Shaw. This song and Boat on the River are two of my favourites. I saw the Paradise Theatre tour. Still one of my favourite bands.

I saw Tommy Shaw and Styx in LaCrosse, WI. for their last tour (Mr Roboto Man). Great show. This was even better. Experience of a Lifetime for those young adults in the orchestra. I also say Tommy and Ted Nugent with Damn Yankees in Rochester, MN.

happy to see a school with a respectable music program. I was marginally mediocre back in the late 70's middle school, but the brain development was undeniable when you especially if you are a right brain person. Music does wonders to tie the brain together at a young age.
It is a disgraceful that school districts have pushed it aside over the past 40 years.

Tommy, loved this video and the others, and your voice - wow! - and what a great youth orchestra. Our band Apogee used to play this in the eighties, it always rocked the house at Nectars in Vermont but none of us had your vocals - then or now. Please keep putting these out there for all of us old folks to remember :)

I remember playing guitar/drums in a garage band in high school, rocking to Styx. That was the early 80’s and I still love their music.
