I put Tommy Shaw and Paul Rogers as two of the best rock singers to ever live. I'm 60 so I've seen a lot of people with voices live and those two sound better live then they do on vinyl. I know someone will argue with me, but I prefer the 70's and 80's rock and roll.
Im almost embarrassed to say I didn't realize how good Tommy's voice is .... I always think of Dennis as the voice and Tommy as the guitarist. I think you're right ... hearing it live allows it to be appreciated. Its like Daryl says , its kind of rare to have that high tenor. Awesome stuff here.

Tommy still has his great voice and Daryl's note choice for what he sang was just impeccable - added a new dimension to one of my favorite tracks. One of the best versions I've heard. Amazing. Love how Daryl can bring in anybody and make it work.
