My wife and I, this is 'our song' from when we first met and dated. She's a Christian and me.... not so much, but we have been married 19 yrs. in spit of our differences and are still crazy about each other!
For 4 decades my heart races & I get chill bumps each time this plays....even after listening to their albums/concerts at least 5 times every weekend - at my current age. I'm definitely beginning to feel older, but for me this song & band never will. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you Night Ranger💙 I routinely am awaken at 4 in the morning. ONLY ONE song will put me back to sleep & there's no going back until I hear it 💫💜
Brad and I were besties in high school from 16 on. Went last night to the Rohnert Park Cali concert and I hung out with my old buddy Brad after the show. I'm proud to say these guys have only gotten better! 50 year friends...family. This version (extended) is so bad ass and Brads guitar leads are phenomenal. Keep rockin brothers!!!
@@broncobrian2344lol! You are absolutely correct! Almost every time you hear it used, it’s in reference to something or someone that is highly rated! I’ve been looking for someone saying what you said for a while now. I think the actual meaning has been lost.
Great observation actually LOL!@@broncobrian2344 I'm also tired of seeing "underrated"...based on what? Most good guitarists gets more than they need of praise. Even though some think so, they aren't Gods! Sure fun to watch and listen though ))
Just to be totally clear...that's the CLEVELAND Contemporary Youth Orchestra. A group that has performed in concert with many of the great rock bands since their founding. Great job too...Night Ranger.
Saw NR on their You can Still Rock in America tour opening of all Bands “Black Sabbath”. This was when Ian Gillian fronted Sabbath. What an unusual double bill. You know what, it was a fantastic show. Both bands killed it! 🇺🇸
I was in my early twenties when this song came out. Man, I absolutely wore out my cd player crankin' this tune. So many great memories come back with this song. Outside somewhere with my friends drinking a cold beer and throwing a Frisbee back and forth and listening to this on a boom box. One of the greatest rock ballads ever written.
Im sooo glad they had the REAL Line-Up! Brad Gillis is such a badass guitarist & will always be! I saw him stand-in for Randy Rhoads w/Ozzy's Diary of a Madman tour, I was in 1st grade. Who is the Madman Now Ozzy! J/k, Still the BEST concert Ive ever seen, And Ive been to nearly 100 & have performed (As a professional Drummer.) Nearly 100. But that concert was so AMAZING! I still remember (1981) nearly every moment.
My parents liked stuff like Neal diamond and Elvis. When I got to high school, my best friend Sean introduced me to rock and roll with Night Ranger, and Van Halen. Love this after 40+ years.
I was two weeks away from seeing Randy Rhoads when the crash happened .. Ozzy rescheduled and I got to see Brad Gillis, who did the impossible and got up there and was incredible .. For anyone who was around then, esp if you were a guitar player, you remember the daunting, impossible task any guitarist faced going out onstage with Ozzy after Randy's passing .. In 1982, Randy was THE biggest thing in metal guitar, and Brad Gillis not only kept Ozzy going, he was his own man in doing so ... and Brad still sounds incredible .. Sister Christian, one of the greatest rock ballads ever - and - BOOGIE NIGHTS, holy shit, what a scene !!
I love Jack Blades has looked like the band member most in need of a power nap in rock and roll.Looks like he’s been spun up like top since the 70’s but seems like a helluva nice guy. I remember in Chicago these guys and Styx were top of the heap. They were huge.
Absolutely awesome. I saw Styx on Tubi perform a concert with the same orchestra.. night ranger pulled it off well.. I was hoping there was more! That youth orchestra really brings out the music on these older bands. Wish I could go back in time for a year, then bring dinner stuff back with me lol.. I remember the concerts were$15. Back in the eighties, now general ad. is$1,000. Minimum... It's the music from that era, like Night Ranger that keeps me holding on to the Good old days.. awesome performance...
Thank you so much! It was a blast working with Night Ranger! If you are ever in the Cleveland area, we would love it if you checked out one of our concerts!
One day my dad and I were watching “Superstar” with Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell. I had to have been anywhere between the age of 3-6. The part when this plays in the movie, after she’s drenched in blue paint and laughed at in front of the whole (catholic) school for trying out for the talent show. She runs out, and the quiet kid who never speaks who people are afraid of, is right there at the entrance waiting on a motorcycle while this is playing. Beautiful. I fell in love with this song right then; the way it plays along with the film the timings and everything. Fast forward, we moved, my parents were on the verge of divorce. My dad was at his computer in the basement, I was down there too playing darts. Out of nowhere, he says, “Do you know this song?” (He knew I knew it lol) Plays this song. I lit up as soon as I hear the piano, I go “yeah!!” I never knew who sang it. We never talked much, but this was one of my fondest memories. I’m 28 now, and, understanding the lyrics now hits hard. This song will forever remind me of my dad. Rest in peace
It's really cool that Night Ranger allowed these kids to shine with them for a memorable night. First class music by a first-class band.
I saw the Eagles on the Hotel California tour in Dalls
They did the same thing
Very cool
That is cool!@@daleferber2096
One of the greatest bands from the 80s. Beautifully done ❤❤❤❤
You think in 40 years they’ll have an orchestra play with Bieber? Yeah didn’t think so. 80s music is timeless and will live on forever.
You got that right! There will never be music like the music we had growing up! Nothing will ever compare or even come close..
Only if he paid each musician 1 million.
I would still refuse.
You assume too much. Here’s Bieber arranging and conducting an ordhestra

That was a great performance I felt like I was 16 years old listening to if the first time in 1983.
Justin Bieber on God will have any orchestra in the world play w him… stupid ass comparison.
We grew up in the best decade.

P.s. Brad Gillis' solo here was F%$#$in' PERFECT!
Pretty much note for note to the original with some embellishments. Getting the exact pitch with the whammy is pretty amazing.
no one finesses a floyd rose style trem like he can
🤘🎸
BG is the best rock musician to ever grace the stage. I saw them recently, with front row seats. He just gets better.
@@scottsanders7005 Id have to agree, the man is an amazing guitarist.
HOLY HELL that was AMAZING! I'd LOVE to see these guys on tour with Def Leppard next year!
Hell I want Def Leppard do something with CYO

me as well! I'm a guitar player and I can listen and watch this and play along all night long~
The best ever live performance of sister Christian ever ( for me ) and I’ve seen them 41 times ❤

One of a few seriously underrated guitarists of the era.

Castle Farms, Northern Michigan in the early 80’s. What a great concert, reliving my 20’s by watching.
