  • Thank you for visiting my usual weekday video.
I was planning to film in the morning…but I overslept😅. I drove my son to the station in hurry. I was relieved both my son and daughter were in time for school.
I had a dentist appointment on that day. It took about an hour to get there. After that I stopped by the supermarket and came home.
For lunch I had chicken cream pasta and salad.
Before making my lunch, I prepared easy dinner for my kids. I allow me to be lazy on every Friday😛.
    🩶chicken cream pasta🩶
    olive oil
    garlic
    chicken (salt&pepper)
    Italian parsley
    tomato
    heavy cream
    lemon
    salt
After taking a nap, I changed my cushions covers to summer version🩵
    And got to work.
    .................................................................
At night, I had sashimi and grilled yakitori and enjoyed Friday night❤️
Thank you for watching and supporting me!
I hope you'll enjoy my ordinary Friday.

Hola Tomomo! Thank you for your video, it is always nice to see your kittens, so cute, and to see how your plants have grown, they are beautiful.
About parsley, I don't use it very often, I mince a little parsley together with garlic for hamburgers or meatballs, I also mix it with breadcrumbs to batter chicken or meat, but not always.
I'm glad you don't have cavities, it's a pleasure to have good news at the dentist, with how expensive it is to go.
By the way, I really liked a drawing that you showed in the dentist's waiting room, I loved it. Does it have any special meaning?
About of healthservice, here in Spain it is free, you do not have to pay to go to the doctor, to the hospital or to medical emergencies, it is relatively free, because we pay for it through taxes, we all have money left in the payroll, a part for social security, even so we have very good medical coverage, the hospitals are very careful and in general everything is very controlled. In the case If you do not work or are in a job search period, healthcare is still free.
But, there is a particularity about the dentist, it is free only for extract teeth, but you have to pay for the treatments, normally you go to a private dentist. Some companies pay workers private health insurance (which covers dentists and have private hospitals, with fewer waiting lists) in our case we have it, but we don't use it much, for now we have good health “toquemos madera” (let's touch wood) it is an spanish expression to continue having luck in something.
Social security in Spain is still free when you retire, old people are calm in that question. The people when retired enjoy very cheap trips subsidized by the government so that they can travel to the beaches or places of interest and have a great time, it is called “Imserso trips” very popular, In Spain and in European countries we pay a lot of taxes, but we also have a lot of coverage, we hope this way of seeing life stay long.
About what you say that children in the past, were not taken much into account, it is true, when we were little, if we entered in a room and the adults had a serious conversation, they would say “hay ropa tendida" (there are clothes hanging) Spanish expression to change the topic of conversation and that we didn't find out about adult things, normally they didn't ask us our opinion, now I think that children decide many things in the family and also parents want to be friends with their children, but a child needs a balance and to know that their parents are loving figures but also of authority, to set limits and rules... it is a very interesting matter.
About this weekend, here in Spain we celebrate the night of San Juan, it is common in coast places to make bonfires on the beach and the boys burn the notes of the school year that have ended and then jump over of the bonfire...Many boys that night take the opportunity to drink too much, it is a pity. This is the aspect of this party

The eve of the night of San Juan, my grandmother collected 7 herbs from the field and put them in a container with water and left it outside the house, the next morning we washed our faces with that water very scented by herbs, it was special, an old tradition of a specific area of Spain, but very beautiful and that brings back childhood memories. 🤗

About last week's “porras”...they are very large, they are cut into pieces of about 30 cm and at least we eat one each, it is large but not heavy, it is light and very rich dough. I hope you try it one day.😉
I have written a lot, as always... sorry.🙏
I send you a big hug and another one for your family, the kittens and the frogs.
From Spain, with much love, Silvia😘

      Hola Silvia♡
Thank you for writing me again! As always, I really enjoyed reading your message.
Thank you for telling me about parsley, I will have to let them grow as big as they want 😂.
Wow, although you pay taxes a lot, healthcare is free is really nice. Maybe Japan will shift that way in the future.
About the picture at the dentist, actually it was in the bathroom😆.
That's a talisman at a shrine that is supposed to ward off bad luck.
It says "Onkuro-dano-unjaku-sowaka" which is not Japanese, it is more like a spell.
Some Japanese people think cleaning bathroom makes cleanse of the negative mind.
If you chant this spell while you are cleaning the toilet, it is the moment when it is easier for toilet God to hear your wishes.
(Of course we sort of believe it.)
Also some people believe (me too!) that cleaning the toilets and keeping them clean will improve their financial fortunes.
Wow, San Juan looks like a wild event. The young people are having fun on this weekend, right?
The custom of washing your face with the herb water sounds really traditional thing. I thought Herb means only leaves but in that pictures, I saw many flowers in the water. So, flowers and leaves = herbs? Very very beautiful custom!
I hope you had a great weekend!
I've gone shopping with my husband and my daughter (of course without my son😂).
The weather was nice and I had a great time!
Looking forward to talking with you soon!
      Love ❤️ tomomo

The everyday routine of making meals, taking children to classes, running errands, teaching classes is so nicely juxtaposed against Japanese thought and way of life. Eating healthy meals is very important but also very difficult for much of the population of the world who cannot afford the salad greens, fruit, and lean meat. I don't think that should make us feel guilty but remind us of our blessings. And it should remind us to offer a helping hand where we can. Those are the kinds of things I have been thinking about lately. What is Mr. Hitori's first name? I would like to look for his books. Enjoy these fleeting summer days.

Hi, Leah Thank you for your message. You are a thoughtful and kind person. Yes, you are totally right. I know I don't have to feel guilty about my peaceful life, but I think I have to thank for my ordinary life.
About Mr. Hitori, I wrote Mr. Hitori because he calls himself Hitori-san (Mr. Hitori in English). Actually Hitori is his first name. His name is Hitori Saito。ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/斎藤一人
Unfortunately he doesn't publish books in English ( I believe...).
We can listen to his stories (Actual Mr. Hitori is talking) in UA-cam but they are all in Japanese.
Have a wonderful week and talk to you soon!
