@@stonedmountainunicorn9532 Certainly chanting monks could qualify, good point. However, they were singing music mostly made by others, much like a choir. The people who started all this were back in the 19teens, 1920s, 30s, 40s - the African American blues artists. It morphed into electric blues in the mid-40s and into the early 50s. Elmore James was playing rock like songs back in the early 1950s. Then Little Richard, Big Mama Thornton, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Rush, Elvis Presley -- all exploded on the scene in the mid 1950s with blues - mixed with a bit of country and some rag time - it all morphed into Rock and Roll. Then the huge band that grabbed it all was The Beatles in the early 1960s - The Rolling Stones too. Then Led Zeppelin came along and blew the lid off it all in 1969 - when they put it all together - more aggressively, attacking, stankier, raunchier, tougher and with massive passion - they carried music all the through the 1970s, as the biggest band out there.

You've also reacted to "Enter Sandman" - Live in Moscow. "Nothing Else Matters" is one of the great rock love ballads. Songs you might want to react to: "The Unforgiven", "Fade To Black", & "For Whom The Bell Tolls". That's a start. Who started all this rock 'n' roll? Chuck Berry, officially known as "The Father of Rock 'n' Roll"; then came Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, & finally The Beatles. These artists were the originators of the genre, & everything else built on their work.
My husband’s best man did an acoustic cover of this at my wedding in ‘97. My husband died in 2017 and this was “our song”. I’m happy to see people still love the song too.
This music is Thrash metal inspired out of the hatred of Hair metal bands of the 80s. Metal, is born from Black Sabbath, Led Zep, and Deep Purple of the 70s who separated themselves from Hard rock scene bands like W.H.O, Beatles, Jim Morrison. These British bands were inspired by American blues and psychedelic rock. So American Blues is the foundation for Metal. Then also in the 70s there was an explosion of metal sub-genres like Blues rock (Aerosmith), Shock Rock bands (Alice Cooper and Kiss), party rock (Van Halen), groove metal (Pantera). Like Rap, eventually hard rock/metal hit its success in 80s and went commercial which birthed hair-metal. Thrash Metal was the counter culture of Hair metal and regan conservatism with bands like Slayer, Exodus, Megadeth, metallica, supultura, overkill. Then in the 90s Alternative rock and grunge with bands like NIRVANA (who single handed killed metal) was the counter culture too Thrash metal. By the end of the 90s people were sick of Alternative Rock and wanted something harder which spawned Nu-metal!!! Rock n Rock is like pendulum it swings back and forth all evolving for the positive or negative based on what was before. *Somewhere in the background the Scandinavians were experimenting with metal and reality with genres like Death and Black Metal. THERE ARE SO MANY SUB-GENRES AND GREAT BANDS IN EACH. yall must explore.
Ok love your guy's reactions! Just the way you interact with each other is great! Also the fact you guys are willing to try different styles of music is great! Keep it up!

I’m a huge fan. What you guys offer is unique because you’re going to places out of your comfort zone or what I am ignorantly assumed it is. I’m a white boy from Cleveland who has been living in Africa for almost 20 years. I call myself an American African. I have seen an experienced both racism as well as human connection that is race blind. This goes way beyond some dude pointing out that he’s not racist because he has a couple of black friends that works with a black guy. Sorry we use the word black here because otherwise, if we applied the US approach, we would be calling Black people African Africans. They call us white and it’s all good. So anyone taking offense of my use of the word black that’s your baggage. I’m a huge metal fan and also a huge rap fan and I think music brings people together like nothing else. So thank you for your refreshing , entertaining challenge to stereotypes. Keep it coming. Can I suggest a few artists that I think you can educate and entertain your audience with. Old school jazz John Coltrane A Love Supreme is insane. Metallica is a great band to feature they’ve been going strong for 40 years putting out albums all good the whole time. You’re open minds are what we need a lot more of everywhere again thanks you guys rule. Michael from Cape Town

Heavy rock was happening in 1966-67 with an obscure group called Blue Cheer. That's the earliest I can recall, oddly enough I still have their "Vincebus Eruptum" album (33 LP) from about that time.
James sang Nothing Else Matters for his wife and kids. James was an alcoholic. He had a difficult upringing. His parents were religious fanatics. In therapy he met his wife. And when they were recording the Black Album one evening he was on the phone with his wife and he started picking the guitar. He just played the lower 4 srings up and down, empty. And he loved the sound. That was when Nothing Else Matters was born.

Y’all gotta check out The Four Horsemen from their first album, classic sound. Metallica are one of the pioneers of metal.
Nah bro more Metallica ballads, that's where they really shined.
@@justinatest9456 I mean that’s an opinion. I absolutely disagree lol blackened, master of puppets, fight fire w fire, ride the lighting are all some of my favorites. The ballads are good too but nothing compares to Metallica in thrash mode for me
@@nickninja52 I was joking bro, the fact you thought anyone could feel that way is a sign of how far we've all strayed from the light.
And yeah, Fight Fire With Fire would blow these guys away, a great suggestion. And Blackened, Ride, Battery. So many killer tunes that these young guys would love for the gym.
Instead they'll probably be recommended some symphony slow song next. Bums me out bro.
yes yes yes fourhorsemen
My daughter is 13 and absolutely obsessed with Metallica. I managed to get tickets for her and I their Saturday night show in Toronto in April with Limp Bizkit opening. It'll be her first concert. I cannot fucking wait! She sobbed when I gave them to her.
Have loved Metallica since 1989 My favorite song by them is Fade To Black. You gotta do Master of Puppets and Unforgiven.
Love you guys!!! Cracking me up!
Watch when they performed this song with the San Francisco symphony. EPIC!
I'm a long time fan of Metallica. I love this song.💖 You should hear the entire audience singing along. Their concerts are amazing! I'm speaking from my own experiences.🤘Try slow dancing with your gf to this song. Awesome feelings can be exchanged.💞
Just saw Metallica for the first time a few weeks ago in Buffalo. They were so incredible. Arguably the best concert I've ever been to and they're almost 60. Unbelievable
Dance with your partner? Never thought about this song in that way. Very interesting. I may have to try it with the wife.
@@Shadyside24 Yes they are! James Hetfield and I are the same age. I'm still a head banger!😜
@@buniteer You won't regret it.🥰
@@buniteer This song was really popular throughout the '90's/'00 especially, as the first couple dance at weddings.
at 2:38 exactly. the look in the drummers eye (IS) what its all about. its a reminder that YOU are up next in 3. 2. 1. and
this is truly a beautiful thing. a bond that surpasses friendship and f about ness
Nothing else matters
Give “master of puppets” a listen. So much talent behind these guys
As a famous guitarist once said, metal isn't a trend, it's a fire burning inside us that will never be extinguished.
Every band that came after Metallica or were inspired by Metallic will never come close to matching Metallica. Just a fact.
@@lovedc4ever678 That's true, friend, although Sabaton comes pretty close. Much the same style as Metallica, but grittier. Thanks for your reply.
you guys are frickin awesome!! you just blew open my top 5 reactors!!! keep up the awesome work!!!
The S +M version of this is amazing! All the songs on that album are. Highly recommend y"all check it out. Symphony and metal! Who knew🤪
I've just literally commented that! What a piece of art that is!
love how at the end you're all banging with the last guitar solo
Had to watch this video solely for this moment right here 6:29 😅
My husband’s best man did an acoustic cover of this at my wedding in ‘97.
Very well written 👏, and it's very accurate. God job, you've got talent!
@@NavyVet00 well thank you for the kind words. Road map of metal is very important.
Keep on rockin my friend!
always love the pre-show! and yeah, this song is a rock masterpiece.
Guys, still hoping you ll do some Grand Funk. Hopefully live version of Inside Lookin Out first. Hooked on your reactions
Jamming feeling them drums in the back boya yes!!!! I love it
You guys should do a review of their first 5 albums......let's have a chat after that😀
Yes! I’ve yet to hear a Metallica song I didn’t like. True GOATS of their genre.
4 out 5 of those are still good albums. But their first 5? Well obviously goesvwithout saying how good they are.
Ok love your guy's reactions! Just the way you interact with each other is great! Also the fact you guys are willing to try different styles of music is great! Keep it up!
Couldn't agree more. These guys have a great channel.
This is Metallicas biggest hit probably. The whole 'And Justice For All' album is pretty decent. Very musical with the switches and length of the songs. If you wanna get your Metallica fix on! The albums 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Master of Puppets' is for you.
yup these guys will become hooked after listening to MOP
I seen them live in 2000, It was the most amazing concert of my life. Manchester UK, MEN arena
This is a beautiful song. If you look up UA-cam nothing Else matters wedding dance there's a beautiful one where it's a couple dancing at their wedding. Another song from Metallica you should listen to is until it sleeps. I love seeing you guys reactions to all these songs with Ozzy and metallica. Keep it up!
this is one of my favorite Metallica videos. For me it was a look at the behind the scenes action. Imagine being in some of these jam sessions, recordings, or just hanging out.
For whom the bell tolls is the song for the homies!! pure energy I makes me wanna drink orange juice after brushing my teeth!!
Love me some Metallica. I heard them the first time when they opened for Ozzy at Riverbend in September of 1986.
One of my top favorite songs ever and from Metallica's 🎵🎶
Load or Reload albums anything off there are the ones that are my favorite. they came out when I was in high school!!! Love your guy's reactions!!!
I stumbled on these videos and I love your reactions. I think I'm on my third video. Didn't know people didn't listen to the greatest band of all time..... Love the videos guys
Guys I’m a female metal guitar player and so his my husband. I grew up with Black Sabbath. We live in Lake Charles Louisiana. I have 14,000 tunes on my phone all of which I have those lyrics etched in my brain for years. You dudes ROCK!!! We love ya!!
Soooo much love watching your reactions. On everything.
The Tallica boys NEVER disappoint!!!! They are this generations Led Zeppelin. True Rock LEGENDS!!!!!!!
49 years old and I’m 40 years a fan of Metallica… this sing brings back memories…
It was recorded before he had a wife and kids....
And his wife was the band's stylist, not someone he met in rehab
Guys love yalls facial expressions and welcome to the Metallica Family my brothers!🤘
My son seen them in concert 3 times right up at the stage. A heavy metal band!!!
This was my class song in high school. I was fortunate enough to slap hands with James Hetfield in Toledo when I was a freshman, 1991 I think. Great video and channel guys!
Hi , my new favorite Brothers, hard to go back , after Mettalica, I worked on a concert , here in NZ , there last concert in NZ.
Enjoy your reactions ..
This has by far always been my favorite Metallica song... but they have many greats in their catalog.
