Saw them 2 weeks ago and they sound incredible. Bruce hit all the notes. These guys are in their mid-60s and Nicko is 70. They played a 2.5 hour show as if they were in their 20s. Incredible.
No they dont sound this good, 1982 iron maiden era is not even close to how they sound nowadays... they still sound very good but nothing compare to how they sounded when they were young and full with fire and energy.
The singer Bruce is also the pilot of the bands tour plane “Ed Force One”.. a professional fencer and a few other things.. the man is beyond talented 👍🏻
Guys welcome to real heavy metal. Iron Maiden is by far one of the best, most talented bands in the world. And they've been around for 40 some odd years. And they still sound this good.
I never heard of Maiden aside from their name was in larger letters on my ticket to see twisted sister. I left that concert with a World Slavery Tour tshirt and can't count how many times I've seen them in the 35+ yrs since.
@@Ashes1032 I took my son and his gf when they came to Phoenix earlier in the tour, the spitfire and aces high, chefs kiss, perfect. Ok, this reaction warms my heart…I have loved Iron Maiden since I was 11, and I am 51 now…good to see you guys aren’t just hearing this as just “noise”, but “art” of a different form and can understand and groove to it! Bruce Dickinson is considered one of the top three vocalists ever in metal…rightly so!
I remain fully convinced that anybody who ever describes metal as "just noise" has never listened to a single song in the genre. To segue into a bit of an odd simile, it's like people who say McDonald's "tastes like cardboard". You can _not like_ McDonald's (I don't like 'em) but it tastes _nothing_ like cardboard. It's just bizarre how some people will make themselves seem actually dysfunctional (in hearing, taste, etc.) to justify a preference.
Yes, I'm 57 and listened to Maiden since 81. The number of the beast and when the Piece of Mind and Power Slave albums, and cassettes, came out I bought each of them and rank them high with some of the greatest albums in history.
My first ever concert in 1986. Iron Maiden. Somewhere in Time tour. Unforgettable. 32 years later still touring . Please do live Trooper or Run to the Hills. The crowd singing all the words back is awesome

Hey guys, since you enjoyed this one, you'll love "Fear of the dark" live in Rio, 20 years later 😉 This one is from the early 80s, where Hard Rock / Heavy Metal was still underground, but bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Van Halen etc. got a loyal fan base and brought them from small clubs to stadiums. My young brothers. So glad to see you react to my favorite band of all time. I enjoy watching you all do reactions to so many of what I grew up with. 80's movies, sports, music extra. My first Iron Maiden concert was 1985. I just went to my 10th one last Monday. They are by far the best live show I've ever seen. So check this out. Bruce Dickinson the lead singer is a pilot. He flies a 747 jet around the world. With the whole crue and stage show during their tour. He had throat cancer years back. To this day they are sailing out 80 thousand plus venues around the world. The Bass player Steve Harris is the founding member of the band. He is the primary writer of all the music. With 17 studio albums plus live extra. Giving more than 200 sold albums combined. Just the fact that they are on a world tour this year. Well into their mid 60s to 70. You have to give them props for that alone. Check out Rime of the Ancient Mariner live. Flight 666. It starts out showing Bruce flying the then 747 jet plane. With all the Maiden artwork on the plain. Go down the rabbit hole and enjoy. There's a shit load to review. Over 35 years to react to. I promise you will LOVE IT.
Always enjoy watching the younger generations appreciating what we grew up with. They are still going strong today & if you get a chance to see a live rock show they are the band to see. Great reaction! Glad you enjoyed it. Up The Irons🤘
The most impressive part is Bruce's voice. Being able to be as active as he is on stage, and be able to hit every note, and hold them for as long as he does is absolutely incredible. Tremendous breath control. As for other songs by them, The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Fear of the Dark (do a live version), Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and Two Minutes to Midnight.
Boys, (and I know this reaction is 2 yrs old), I'm 53 and I have been a Maiden fan since I was 10 - The fact that you would entertain reacting to this video and band (and I'm assuming it isn't your normal genre) is absolutely awesome - The 'stank faces' during the guitar solo made my day 😂 - Best to you guys and "Up The Irons!" (You'll probably need to look that one up!)
They played the WHEELS off that song, smashed it, tore every piece of frickin'fur right off it. Last I heard it was spotted wobbling around, on bare rims, not an ounce of fur on it, and absolutely crushed to beejeezus.
Bruce Dickinson is so well accomplished, champion fencer, commercial airline pilot, soccer team owner, and amazing lead singer, I think he also plays guitar!
Bruce Dickinson is the greatest metal vocalist ever and Steve Harris is the best bassist from any genre, not just because of the way he plays, but also of the way he writes music.
Fuck yeah ! Maiden has soooo many dope ass songs. My personal favorites are 2 minutes to midnight, aces high , flight of icarus , and seventh son of a seventh son. This Era was just before the whole labelization of rock was " Evil, Satanic, or Ritualistic " . When people actually listen to the words, most rock bands sang either about political distaste , historical events or times, or fantastical stories. Many take a perspective of history and times that are recorded like kings, vikings, monarchs, Christianity or catholicism and the movement on the masses, political wars based on agenda to religion and positions of power. Its just interesting. It was one of the first movements against the way the world operates publicly and in mass production. And just like my love for hip hop too, everyone has a story and a life to compare and find common ground on many related subjects. It's when we see similarities in people not differences that we grow as a people.
I saw them live in this small venue and let me tell you, Bruce's voice just envelops the farthest corners of the space theyre playing in. One of the greatest vocalists in rock.
I just went to my first Iron Maiden show on Tuesday. It was the best show I’ve ever been to. They played so damn good and crisp and Bruce is such a beast vocally. He ran around all night on the stage and never missed a note. I would highly suggest going to one of their shows. They are still as incredible now as they were then.
I've noticed that a lot of younger people that don't necessarily listen to rock and metal don't realize the longevity that many of these bands have. Nearly 50 years into their career and 40 years as a major recording and touring act, Iron Maiden still pack arenas, amphitheaters, and stadiums around the world. For more Iron Maiden, you might check out "Fear of the Dark" live in Rio
They still are worldwide superstars. This is the quietest I've ever seen you all. As an eighties young teenager this song and album were worn out three times on tape and record within about two years. Still playing it... still a brilliant album.
Been watching your reaction to rock, Dream On, Nirvana etc saying we don't have music like that now, listen to Wolfmother; joker & the thief. It's older now BUT they revived the 70's rock soul 🤘 oh and White Stripes!
By far on of metal greatest band on the planet, performed historical festivals and conquering new territories every tours, and lineup of master musicians!!!!!!!
There was nothing like being a teenager in the 80s.. Discovering new bands all the time, going to concerts , going to the record stores to check out all the albums, including the awesome new releases.
@@claymangarza Well, as long as it didn't get out of hand my parents let me and my friends have a few beers. No need to go out a lot when you could have your friends over for free beer.
Every once in awhile you come across a GREAT bassist. Once every decade or so you come across an EPIC bassists. Once in a lifetime you see a LEGENDARY bassist. Then,...there is THE bass GOD,...Steve Harris! Up The Irons...good to see you youngsters finding perfection in music. Lucky you.
Iron Maiden - Fear of the dark (live at Rock in Rio) I think it's from 2001 and fantastic also they are more than just a rock band they are one of the pioneers of heavy metal music, legends
They are from UK!!!!! This is another deep band you really need to read the lyrics to. The music is awesome, but the words are very exceptional with this band. They are a really smart.
My favourite band! Guys I'm impressed you played this and enjoyed it, The Trooper by Iron Maiden is a must! Live at Chile or the official video. Keep rocking chaps! 🤘
They had 2 guitarists for first half of their career. Adrian Smith went solo in 1992 and he was replaced by Janick Gers. When Smith came back in 1999, Gers remained and they have stayed with that lineup since. They changed singers a couple of times, but the best known two are Bruce Dickenson who was with them from Number of the Beast through Fear of the Dark and Brave New World onward and Paul Di'Anno who sang on the first two albums, the self titled debut and Killers. Their lives shows are incredible no matter what era you watch.
Love the reaction!! They all are perfectionists in their craft. They’re very dedicated to make every show as good as any they do. And they have an Iron Maiden plane and lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, is a pilot and flies the plane🥰 Another group to check out, similar w an equally gifted talent from the same time-Judas Priest🥰🖤And even before both-Black Sabbath🥰Watching this put a bright spot in my day and I thank you❣️
This was recorded on 20 March 1982. I've been a fan of this band since 1980 and I still say this is the very best live version of this masterpiece ever recorded. And these guys are still going strong too. I've seen them live 5 times they have always put on a totally unforgettable show. Old school fans bring their grandchildren to see them for Pete's sake. In my opinion the most successful metal band ever. Glad to see younger cats get a true appreciation to their work.
This is just the beginning, Ace's high, fear of the dark, infinite dreams, wasted years, the evil that men do. Thank you guys for checking iron maiden out. Keep going 👍
Ryme of the Ancient Mariner... Alexander The Great... these guys literally got me through high school in the late 80's. Just so much that its hard to think. The albums Powerslave, Killers and Somewhere in Time... cant go wrong.
Just saw these guys 2 nights ago in Ottawa, Canada, and they sounded better than when I saw them 10 years ago, and with 5 complete stage changes , and 3 encore songs, it’s the BEST live show I’ve ever attended. I had an incredible night, and the entire band absolutely KILLED it! I didn’t hear a single missed note. #UpTheIrons
Saw them in Hamilton on the 12th of October, and all I can say is holy fucking shit. An absolute masterpiece of a performance. They sound as good as they did on the rock in Rio album (the first one of theirs I bought) and I was hooked instantly. My 16 year old self was screaming with excitement as they played the clansman. Probably one of my favorite songs by them.

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this song and the live from Hammersmith is an awesome choice as has been said already. I was 12 in 1982 when The Number of The Beast album came out and this is the last track on the LP. This album, Screaming For Vengeance (Judas Priest) and Blackout (Scorpions) all came out that year. This was my first cassette tape.I ordered it over the phone, cash on delivery. I paid with money out of my mom's fun jar. I love it when people get it like y'all did! My fella in the dark hat got going there at the end! I was down this morning, and after watching you having such a good time,I feel good! Hey,the lead singer,Bruce Dickinson,is cool as all get out. He's never been a substance user, and he has his own passenger jet, that he is the pilot of! He's done rescue flights and everything. The band mascot, the skeleton dude,is named Eddie, and that's what's on all the shirts. Thanks for lifting my spirits!
Glad to see the younger generation experiencing how great the 70's and 80's music was. Yah have to hand it to iron Maiden, they are still putting out quality music over 40 years after Steve Harris formed the band. They are a band that sounds awesome live. There is an absolutely wonderful documentary this band made called Flight 666. The lead singer, Bruce, flies planes and he takes the band on tour to play in countries that they normally can't play in (because Bruce flies the plane). It's absolutely awesome, especially when they go to Columbia. I've been wanting some UA-camrs anywhere to react to it but I haven't seen anyone do it.

Damn straight... i cant even remember hiw many drum sticks were destroyed playin and learning these songs back in the day.
Also.. can i olay with madness ='s lose my shit haha
Well, American evangelicals were burning this very album...
Gentlemen you simply saw the Greatest Rock Band of all time!...IRON MAIDEN ROCKS!!
I saw them live in this small venue and let me tell you, Bruce's voice just envelops the farthest corners of the space theyre playing in. One of the greatest vocalists in rock.
Love the Ragin Cajuns!! Comeaux High class of 86!! Hallowed be thy name is one of Maidens signature songs.
You guys don't even know. Tip of the iceberg. Glad you enjoyed it. I've seen them 22 times since 85. Just saw them two weeks ago
Been watching your reaction to rock, Dream On, Nirvana etc saying we don't have music like that now, listen to Wolfmother; joker & the thief. It's older now BUT they revived the 70's rock soul 🤘 oh and White Stripes!
This is the kind of music I grew up with. To see a group of young men rocking out and APPRECIATING it 40 years later warms my heart. Up the irons!
Iron Maiden are just immense live band , a runaway juggernaut
By far on of metal greatest band on the planet, performed historical festivals and conquering new territories every tours, and lineup of master musicians!!!!!!!
Iron Maiden was a legendary band. Bruce Dickinson, the Vocalist, never did a drug, or alcohol, and gained a Pilot's licence. He flew his band to gigs.
''was'' ?
M8, that is just factually incorrect. Read his book.
I think he has had at least one drink in his life lmao
Tell us you know nothing about Maiden without saying you know absolutely nothing.
Was??
There was nothing like being a teenager in the 80s.. Discovering new bands all the time, going to concerts , going to the record stores to check out all the albums, including the awesome new releases.
I discovered a lot of the bands I like every Saturday night on MTv from 11-2 with a case of beer.
I miss the Headbanger's Ball.
@@luthersmithers6052 yep... such a magical era.
@@luthersmithers6052 definitely.. Same here as well, although many Saturday nights we were out and about, having some cold ones, jamming to metal
Steve Harris one of the best base players EVER!!! The way he separates his sound and almost makes every base riff a solo!
Absolutely!
I was just saying, I wish they'd recognize the bad ass bass player. LOL! Steve is one of the best IMO..
My favorite band since the 80's. Keep up the excellent exploring, open minds, and creativity young men. You're doing it proper.
Ugh, definitely NOT the live version. The live version of "The Trooper" is always awful.
One of my favorite bands! So glad my dad introduced them to me ❤.
Their lives shows are incredible no matter what era you watch.
...but avoid Blaze Bayley! (SCNR)
@@paulmcgrath6118 For his own stuff? Maybe. But for all the stuff he made with Maiden? Nope.
Iron Maiden is one of, if not the greatest band I’ve seen live. You are totally right, they sell tons of merchandise. They have some of the coolest band shirts you’ll find
I concur I've seen dozens of bands live and Iron Maiden has been my most memorable.
Brandon seems to enjoy more of this music the most.Appreciate you guys for the reactions.Thats how I felt back in 82 when this came out...Merry Christmas guys.
Best live band ever, and they are still going. Up the irons! Might check out Fear of the Dark live in Rio.
Nothing like an Iron Maiden concert. Up the irons!
Iron Maiden is awesome! Been a fan since i was 15. 55 Now. Great to see you young men listening to a amazing band.
I'm gonna tell ya what. I'm 55 and have seen a lot of these old rock, metal, pop, ect bands. I seen these guys in 1988 and still to this day there one of the BEST LIVE bands I've ever seen. No Joke. there the real deal live
Bro I’m with ya, I’ve only seen them live on film. My favorite metal band.
Up the Irons, boys. Welcome to the Maiden fan club. Fans ranging from little kids to your grandma. We love Maiden at our house. My kids are fans because I was a fan when I was a teenager. It spans generations in our house.
Saw these guys Monday. Still have insane energy and the atmosphere was incredible. If you ever get the opportunity, go see them live
Love this reaction!!! Momma Jen’s heading to Columbus, Ohio tomorrow night to see them!!! Can’t wait!!! Never miss them!!!! ❤️❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I took my son to see them 3 years ago for his first show and they were still as good as when I saw them in the 80s
Great review, gentlemen! Iron Maiden is by far one of my Top 5s of all time bands. Saw them twice, both at The Woodlands in Houston. If you ever get the opportunity, GO.
One of the best live shows I've ever seen. (Saw them in 2019.) Glad you guys are showing them love!
I'm a life long Iron Maiden fan, 52 now! I took my 16 year old daughter to see them back in September, she is a huge fan! They still bring it and had all the old metals heads like me banging their heads still.... Maybe just a little bit slower.... :D
I haven't been the same since 🤘
Gary moore still got the blues live
Greatest metall band stil rockring after 47y! and I been a Maiden fan ano 1983 im 50y now!
Up The Irons 🤘🏽
I love that you guys loved this. Iron Maiden is one of my all-time favorite bands, and this is my favorite song by them.
Hasn't Bruce Dickinson not long recovered from throat cancer or something like that? And he still hits those notes! Fire maiden 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nicko had a stroke in January last.
@@brianferris8668 I didn't know that. Very sad.
I love watching you guys finding amazing music that is in a different genre then you may be used to hearing. Great job guys!
The singer Bruce Dickinson pilots the band's private airliner.
I'm 59 and I remember when this came out. My friends and I had pretty much the same reaction. Much love and keep rockin'!
One of the best bass players in the entire world....
Iron Maiden is a freaking machine. Best band ever
Glad you enjoyed one of the most iconic bands in metal history. You really LOVE ‘Fear of the Dark’ live version…
You must do Iron Maiden's "Aces High", you all will love it!
I love watching you guys reactions to these metal bands. I grew up in the 80s i love metal. This is a banger as are most of Maidens songs. I have enjoyed this music for 40 years. Im glad you guys like it. Crank it up!
Love this reaction video guys! Amazing to think this version of Hallowed be Thy Name was recorded in 1982! Maiden are still going strong 40 years later. Got my ticket booked already for the tour next year!! 👍😝
40 years later, still a firm favourite at their live gigs.
Arguably the greatest metal song ever written, that shit never gets old
no argument
Facts.
*Cough* holy diver *cough*
Black Sabbath
Actually, The Greatest Show On Earth by Nightwish.
In terms of a music video, Christmas Truce by Sabaton.
I always say Maiden songs are each like an event. You come out the other end pumped like you just finished racing the Daytona 500.
Every race and life style got along and could not wait for the next great album to come out from all the bands and then buy great seats to the concerts for around $8.00 to $12.50...! Keep on Rockin Brother's....."
glad you guys liked this! keep watching the LIVE performances from thus band!!!!
Yah have to hand it to iron Maiden, they are still putting out quality music over 40 years after Steve Harris formed the band. They are a band that sounds awesome live. I actually prefer to listen to their live recordings over the studio recordings. I saw them back in 1985, 2012, and 2019. All memorable shows!
Broke into metal in the eighties with these legends and still love them today. While I do listen to various types of music, metal remains my favorite.
Saw Maiden in September 2022 in Los Angeles. My second Iron Maiden concert and my 13 year old son’s first. It was awesome! Love you guys and love seeing your reactions!
They are a Metal Band 🤘🏻
i just saw iron maiden live, theyre legendary, DO GOJIRA NEXT
Still one of my favourite bands... They are amazing live
Iron Maiden has the best riffs, and 1 of the best Rock vocalists in the business, and having 2 lead guitarists such a great band!
I was 15 Years old, when NUMBER OF THE BEAST was released in 1982.....and damn, this LP (!) went straight on Heavy Rotation on my Record Player(!).Especially this Song I played over and over again......UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS of my Life !
Yeh great documentary showing REALLY how big they are worldwide and play to audiences who never get to see bands. Great how they restructured the plane to take the entire crew and equipment. Watched it maybe 5 times Jenn.
@@jasonjones5357 I’ve always loved Iron Maiden’s music and Bruce’s voice is top tier. But that documentary really is something special.
