In this short seminar, Derek goes over the importance of footwork and how to throw a proper jab and cross. Boxing only has four punches put the difference between the pro fighters and amateurs lies in the details. Here Derek discusses the difference in types of jabs and the footwork used to make them effective.

I get a real “novice trying to be a coach” feeling from this guy. Especially when he made that comment about Conor

At the very start when he started moving around a shadow boxing a bit, he looked like a robot using machine learning to learn how to move his head. That's when I realised this guy definitely doesn't understand what he's talking about

Hey great video! But whenever I throw a punch sideways my elbow has pain. But whenever I throw a straight punch it doesn’t hurt. I want to punch sideways cause of the advantages but I don’t know what to do. Any suggestions?

It would be nice if there was a youtube video covering the WHY of footwork. Why should we bother? I can't find a video on that topic. Every video asumes you already know but I don't.

Think about it this way :
You want to move efficiently and effectively without wasting movement & energy.
footwork skills allow you to move quicker and more precise around your opponent.

Your stance decides what you can do and what you cannot do. And what your opponent can do and cannot do. Still vague, but give that a thought.

theres no difference between pros and amateurs in terms of technique, its exactly the same and all the best amatuers are professional anyway, they just dont get paid to fight.

He shows some fancy looking stuff. A regular combat fighter can see immediatly that this coach is fakeGuy. Respect to your opinion but you can ask diffrent people and what theyre thinking to reciev the best view of the reality.
