You're probably good at endurance from also rock climbing. Endurance running is about your body's capacity to withstand lactic acid (Causes pain), your muscles ability to utilize oxygen efficiently, and your lungs rhythm and consistency with breathing. All of these are traits you would've gained from your extensive climbing experience.

i really liked this spanish military guy. and magnus is a beast, as always. given the scoring system, a 6.5 is actually outrageously good. and i can't imagine what some of these special forces guys look like-- jesus. the sprinting rubric was completely outrageous-- they seriously have guys who can run 10.5 second 100m in those conditions? insane.
10,5 sounds hard but he could get to 11 / 11,5 seconds if he trains his legs for speed and general muscle. He is a little guy who needs to have a high pace with his legs to get to higher speed. But in the video you see he has general endurance but lacks the strength in legs to push him harder forward and in a higher pace. And i know fully well that he would smoked me in sit ups, push ups and pull ups.
@@62metaIt's not really a matter of strength though. You need explosiveness and power in your lower body to get a decent 100m time. That's something Magnus obviously doesn't train for.
There is no guy who runs 10 5. My step father was a Spanish especial operations sargent, of one of the toughest COE (compañía de operaciones especiales) on that time (90 to 95). I've seen crazy videos that sine movies like GI Jane are a joke in comparison. Actually, the NAVY SEALS stopped makings combined training with COEs because apparently they were too tough and crazy for them.... I am always incredibly impressed when Magnus performs endurance tests. It is crazy to have a time like this with no special training.
A decent fitness regime and most importantly a smart game plan paired with a sound mindset can bring you to at least to 99% of the best times. The last % is where it gets hard.
But yeah imennsly impressiv! :)
@@dongurudebro4579 Yea magnus has a good mindset for those kinda things, like with the dark tunnels or with the hiking up the hills and then running down the hills to get faster times. His instinct is hella good.
No special training? If I recall Magnus ran 4x4 intervals more than once a week for his entire youth and pro climber career?
@@dongurudebro4579 absolutely not. For sure mindset plays a huge role. But if you are not really gifted with exceptional endurance your cardiovascular system will just collapse under such a demand. The mindset will make you survive the run but to do it in such a time. Mindset will not be enough. Trust me I ran in a team for years. You cannot will yourself to have good times. The other guys before him also did not lack willpower thats for sure.
@@sigmal47 That is powerendurance especially in the forearms. Thats why you do it. It is a different thing to running thoug. Thats like saying - of course Jakob Schubert excells on the competition lead wall - he goes hiking all the time in the mountains of tyrol. I have to say, after so many tests and collaborations, Magnus has definitely become less tense in front of camera with strangers, more natural and loosen with the conversation, much much less "awkward fillers", it feels like the conversation and some small talks are super calming and way way comfortable to watch comparing to the first couple of test videos. I'm half way through this video, and i'm so happy you made this video. instructor seemed like a cool dude.
To maximize pushups for endurance, push to failure then drop to your knees and continue to failure. This will increase your ability for max pushups. I never seemed to be able to get the maximum Army test score because of the pushups, even after basic training, till someone advised me to train this way. The next test I maxed the pushup portion.
thanks a lot

You're probably good at endurance from also rock climbing. Endurance running is about your body's capacity to withstand lactic acid (Causes pain), your muscles ability to utilize oxygen efficiently, and your lungs rhythm and consistency with breathing. All of these are traits you would've gained from your extensive climbing experience.
The instructor seemed like a really nice guy. Nice balance of pushing and motivation.
I've worked with Spanish Marines. They were certainly special!
The fact that Magnus' reputation has preceded himself to the point that one of the most dangerous men in the world acknowledges his superiority while shirtless
That's because it's not about how he looks it's about what he can do.
i really liked this spanish military guy. and magnus is a beast, as always. given the scoring system, a 6.5 is actually outrageously good. and i can't imagine what some of these special forces guys look like-- jesus. the sprinting rubric was completely outrageous-- they seriously have guys who can run 10.5 second 100m in those conditions?
Good question, and the answer is no.
