Watch the other videos from the event, he's constantly kicking, biting and chasing the other horses in his pen, you can even see it at the beginnging of this video (around 00:15, he kicks the dark horse). I think he's very defensive about food. Maybe it's due to the stressful situation and he's completely different in another environment but I can understand if people don't want to risk having a horse like that in their herd.

Not adopting is the hard part but remembering our limits is the best thing we can do for ourselves and our current horses. I have 3 mustangs, two that I am riding and one that I need to get saddle started. The one that isn’t saddle started yet is 3 years old and I’ve had her since she was 11 months old. So I tell myself I can’t have another one until she is under saddle and being ridden consistently. Haha
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into to your videos! They are very well made and packed with great information and really help me understand how the auctions work. I am hoping to adopt a Mustang in 4 years and appreciate all your generosity and knowledge. Thank you so much! Also , thank you for the resources you share to help us all understand what goes into bringing a Mustang into your life.
I wish I had a panel set up, I’ve have trained a mustang to ride and drive for a customer years ago, he was a wonderful children’s horse. So close to me.
these horses were feral and ate off the ground (sometimes mud) their whole lives; it doesn't make them sick often unless there's a lot of sand. Eating dry/dusty feed is much worse
Ahh o B it sounds like you got a bit of a cold standing in all the rain yesterday? I really enjoyed this event that you closed for us ! Picking out my favs not and not favs. Gosh, I’d really like to get my grand daughter started and myself riding again. I guess when it’s meant to be… until then I have these awesome vids !!! Take care girl ! ❤️🐴🙏💯
Oh wow! I’m impressed you could hear that 😳 yea I got pretty wet between when I took that flappy plastic thing off (such a bad idea to wear that 😂)and when found something else. Between that and very little sleep I ended up getting a fever and catching something! I was glad I did videos that didn’t require a voiceover afterwards!😂
I’ve worked with three sales eligible mustangs and they’ve been wonderful! Have no idea why they were passed up. One is a 2 year old sorrel that’s already 15.1hh…😳
She said coming through! She was just communicating with her team that she need to get through to latch the gate on the trailer. They have to act fast to avoid any mishaps.
I have a “three strikes” mustang. And I don’t mean he was offered for adoption three times, and nobody took him. I mean three owners adopted him from the BLM, took him home, and then rejected him. I think owner #2 abused him. 3+ years, infinite patience, and a small fortune on lessons, and he is a real pleasure to work with. We do all kinds of groundwork at liberty. We ride bareback with a halter. He has gone from the most difficult horse I’ve ever known to the easiest horse I ever worked with. What a journey!
Good on you! I think it becomes increasingly difficult the more homes and rejections. That’s a really cool story. I’m glad you have him a chance and stuck with it!
You mentioned brand or chip? So are the BLM branded but not chipped? And if they're not also chipped I'd imagine you'd have to wait until you held the title to have it chipped?
BLM mustangs are branded and microchipped, though I can’t remember off the top of my head when it was they added microchipping. But it was helpful during Raven’s titling appointment when my vet had trouble reading her brand - if I remember right, he might have scanned her microchip instead Some mustangs are managed by the US Forest Service, and they just microchip their mustangs.
I like the dark brown youngster, very interesting, would adopt at once, sadly, false environment, and can’t afford ,have to watch your channel for seeing these beautiful creatures ❣️
I haven’t personally looked into it/asked questions about it, but definitely know it’s done. I think it’s as long as the mustang isn’t US government property.
@@TheProjectEquestrian Still, I really appreciate knowing that other Canadians have done this, it gives me hope that I can potentially make it happen for myself someday. 🥹 I really feel that after a lot of training and bonding a mustang could eventually make the perfect backcountry trail companion since being surefooted is so important to their survival out in the wild. ❤️
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE MAY ONLINE ADOPTIONS FROM Rock Springs????? There are numerous horses with $25,000 down to $2000. Can bidders back out? What would be the purpose? Some of these horses are larger hands but many are under 15 and basic sorrel or bay. What do you think is the reason?
I'm in Alpine ca. I have 7.9 acres however it's in the mountains I plan on building a corral on approximately 1/2 an acre where it is suitable for the horse. I helped tame a bay quarter horse when I was twenty four years old however that's a long time ago I am now 57 years young lol 😢 so I have had neck and back injuries from construction. I would still like to own and ride a horse. I have a good job and make good money which I know horses can be expensive and don't currently have a horse trailer. Most of the adoptions you show are back east, or in other states and shipping would cost almost as much as buying a trailer. Are there any places to adopt in California or close to San Diego? I'm 40 miles from Mexico.
They are feral, not wild. The landscape cannot always support their numbers so the BLM attempts to adopt enough of them out to keep them from starving or upsetting the local ecosystem. (Though we could spend some time talking about how free range cattle impact local ecosystems. But then again we could spend more time talking about factory farming, soooo...)
Wish I could buy/adopt all the rest of them. Absolutely gorgeous animals, --> deserve good homes.
Can't imagine how that handsome Grey is an 11 strike
I know - he seemed to have beauty and brains! sweet boy

Thanks for letting us experience what is needed to adopt a mustang!! They are the min pins of horses.

Panels, trucks, horse trailers - some of the best gifts any horse person could get 😂
9908 I find so cute and nicely built
Thank you Britta for this educational information ❤❤❤❤❤
Oop, you caught my extra stowaway🙈 Luckily she’s not mine, her adopter is in for an extra friend as we think she’s in foal lol.
Bless their hearts they are eating in the mud.wouldn’t that make him sick. Love the the gray, pray they get adopted to good happy homes.
Yea, i hope they find a place indoors next year. It was pretty nasty

You have fantastic horses 🐴 God bless you for showing us all the auctions
Amazing horses❤
A most worthy cause Thankyou for sharing
High schools should offer horse care education
I was in fffa it was excellent
11 strikes!! Mannnn. Makes you wonder what his story is. Poor dude.
What was the story with the two horses loading then the person running to the back of the trailer yelling no?

Do you have to be an American citizen to buy sale eligible mustangs? Is this a way for a Canadian to potentially adopt one?
(Asking for my theoretical future self.😂)
@@falcolf haha yea, I know of canadians who have gotten the sale eligible mustangs (or waited until they were titled)

I could adopt her then?!?!?! Ewing’s next adoption event is the first weekend of May…
There's a online mustang blm going on soon

Can I adopt one if I’m from Canada? Or do I have to be in the USA?
Great the one mustang had a friend
So if Sale horse can be bought by kill buyer? $25 will give a kill buyer price incentive

Black Lightening Machine powered by Horsepower?!?! 🇨🇦🤣
Do they hold these in Oregon?
Can you still get the $1000 incentive after 1 year on purchase of sale eligible mustangs? Thanks!!
It depends on the horse or burro you will need to confirm
Yeah I see what you mean about that sweetie
I wish the BLM put as much money into managing the land and charge the Cattle ranchers far more money to grace on BLM Land,
So sad they are split up from the herd
Sad, a Horse for 25 Dollars will easily join a Kill Buyers Truck😢
What does BLM stand for (apart from Black Lives Matter obvs)
Hah, oh no! I already forgot a big one lol it's the Bureau of Land Management
All wild horses belong to the wild. No human deserves to have them at all.
