    One thing I love about your videos is the absence of ego. I subscribe to and help support a couple of rescue channels (one for dogs, one fo lions) run by amazing and conscientious people who put up new videos regularly. But I’ve stopped watching them because nearly all the running time is a talking head and I want to look at the animals.

      Also try videos by HERD, the elephant rescue group that has a herd of orphan elephants and a new orphan just six months old. Their Almost daily videos, accompanying the elephants into the bush, and explaining who the ellies are and what they do are great. A wonderful non profit

    Itis my experience that introverted people often feel other people’s stuff too much and naturally turn to our relationships with the gentle creatures sharing our world. They freely share their souls with us needing the energetic exchange as much as we do. Your husband and sweet horses, Huckleberry and Tiny, are all the community you need to follow your purpose. You gratefully fill your purpose as a caretaker of the Earth. There is peace, love and healing on your farm and the world is just a little bit more balanced because of you. We broken down old horsewomen live vicariously through you, remembering the days horses of our youth. Thank you for posting and sharing your horses with us. ❤

      THOSE HORSES SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ROUNDED UP AT ALL!! SO sad and so many costly externalities to these friggin BLM practices. PLUS they are breaking the law = Wild Horse Annie's wild mustang and burro protection law passed in the '70's. It's insane and shameful. From an adopter of 2 BLM burros who I'm sure would rather be back free in AZ!!!
      Sorry, I feel strongly about this guys. Glad you were there to help the BLM out with their overstock of captured, once-free, mustangs.

    • @Angela-iv7qy
      @Angela-iv7qy 4 місяці тому

      Are you kidding me. The BLM rounds them up, usually by helicopter, running them so hard some get heat stressed, injured, foals injured! They are SHOT by the people who are paid by the BLM to round them up. There are 3 families who are paid to round them up & to keep them penned up, costing taxpayers millions of dollars a year, forced to live in their own filth without shade!!! The blind & elderly mustangs & burros are shot. The herd normally takes care of their entire herd. The elderly & blind mustangs left behind die because they no longer have the herd to lead them to food and water & are killed by predators because their stallions are gone, stolen from the wild by the Bureau of Land Management! The Killers buy the Mustangs and Burros and take them across the Border to Mexico to be SLAUGHTERED. The three families involved in the roundups make a percentage from the Killers. They have a huge Scam Operation, making money from the Killers, making money from keeping them penned up on their ranches, & roundups. Taxpayers are paying for the Slaughter & Abuse & Terror!!! Tracy Manning the BLM Director, the three families & the Killers involved with the three families, belong in Prison! They take too many Mustangs from the wild, threatening their genetic diversity. Horses survived the Ice Age. Therefore Mustangs are an endangered species according to their low numbers. The three families & the BLM & the Dept of The Interior claim the Mustangs are overgrazing the public lands. The three families remove the Mustangs and then release cattle and sheep, stripping the land of the natural resources! These corrupt families just wanted to get rid of the Mustangs so they could put sheep and cattle on the land, destroying it!!!
      Letters, Pleas & Protests from Americans including children & First Nations to the Biden Regime BLM & Dept of Interior went Unanswered!!! Abolish the BLM! Arrest the 3 Families & their Killers & the Corrupt Conservation Officers & Arrest Tracy Manning & Arrest Deb Haaland!!! They keep trying to block journalists from taking video of the roundups & the shootings & the pens!!! If they weren’t doing anything wrong, why ban the media!
      FDEMS! FJB!!!

He was awesome. When anywhere, through anything. Mud, water crossing and the deadly spooky tree stumps, no complaints. After 22 years he left with a piece of my heart. That stocky bay roan was 😢 an important part of my life. Thank you.

It was nice to see them gently putting head collars on and expertly loading them into the trailers. Auctions are stressful but they really try to make it as easy for the horses as possible. All in all it's been very enjoyable to watch.

    • @audreyjohnson4599
      @audreyjohnson4599 5 місяців тому +13

      Life has already treated them like sh-t. They're run by helicopters, being injured (broken legs, necks), run to death, mares separated from foals, stallions from their families, then locked up and often auctioned to buyers who then resell them in other auctions where they're often sent to slaughter. I live in Nevada and what is done to the mustangs during roundup is a crime. They no longer allow the news stations to film the roundups because of what happens - a foal with a broken leg, an adult mustang with a broken leg, a mare who broke her neck being driven into the trap, a foal whose hooves were literally destroyed by the running and had to be euthanized - these are just a few incidents that were captured on film.

    I am not a horse owner myself, but I love horses and follow some horse channels here on YT. This auction is actually the nicest one I have seen so far - so much less stressful and less noise. Although they are wild horses they do not look to stressed out and that makes me happy. The regular auctions with lots of noise of whips and voices is stressful for me as a human - and I am only participating online! I always feel sorry for the animals in those noisy environments. I am also happy to see that the horses in this auction are well taken care of, looks glossy and healthy and wellfed. And it is a good idea to show them in groups because horses are herd oriented and is happier and calmer within a group. I wish that that would be the norm at other auctions as well.

      I agree, this is the kindest treatment I’ve seen in any horse auctions on UA-cam.😊These horses looked pretty calm all things considered, and I was happy to see how gentle the BLM folks were when haltering the mustangs for transport. I don’t have the knowledge to train one either, but I hope they all land in happy homes with trainers like CC who won’t rush them to saddle (seeing the scars on Pete from a previous ‘trainer’ was heartbreaking).

    YET.
    You will, though, need to take TWO donkeys as although they make excellent horse companions, they very much appreciate the company of their own kind, and are often easier to handle as a pair rather than a single. Two donkeys broken to harness would be VERY useful, especially when you get a place of your own ...

    I'm old now but back in the late 80's when I was 'transitioning' out of managing a 1,000 cow dairy our hoof trimmer Toby Richner, was developing the freeze branding option. He'd done a video following young stock over a couple of years as the tatts grew with the animals. Then he took that video and his stats with him to our state capitol and presented it so as to legally offer freeze branding over hot iron branding. Bless his heart; the law was changed, and he started an entire line of employment for people IDing critters. I worked with him on other dairies as they took advantage of the new tagging system over ear tags, what fun. Good to see it's used for these horses. Gave new meaning to tag team as it just takes 30 seconds of pressure to create the tattoo pair. Way less pain and the info is then in white hair, growing larger with the animal. Great idea comes to fruition....
    Love your videos. Lets us know what we never learned when we too were horse owners.

      I think bays are beautiful too! One of the many reasons I love this channel - it is not all flashy color and fad breeds. Yay for plain brown ponies! ❤😊

      @SunnySunshineField Right ✅️ I don't understand people who judge a horse by its color. First real horse I rode as a really young girl, was a bay thourobred mare and her name was Chance , she was probably one of the best horse I ever rode. She did anything I asked of her. And I rode her bareback and when she would canter , it was like I was in perfect Rythem with her . She was a great horse 🐎 👏 👍 😀

    I am SO glad to see how the process actually works! I have a BLM Mustang from outside of Winimucca (sp?) NV. I live in Upstate NY. I got her from a friend who got her from the original adopter who lives in TX. It's a long story...but I feel so blessed to have this wonderful mare...American Honey. ❤️❤️❤️

    My favorite is the one at 7:02 in the video. The brown one, with a three white feet, long black tail, black mane and white on his(?) forehead. Beautiful!
    This was all very interesting and well explained. First time for me watching a horse auction explained. It’s unbelievable how inexpensive they all are. Less than $500 for a beautiful horse like these? Thank you for posting.

    Oooooh! I love horse auctions. Best horse I ever got was a two-year old spotted Bay National Show Horse stud. No one in Cedar City, UT was interested, so I got him for $140. Took him to the vet down the road and had him gelded before taking him home. What a joy to work with and ride English.

    I was at this event too but after the auction. There were many decent, promising horses still available for adoption. As horses and burros were adopted and loaded into the waiting trailer you could hear and feel the gratitude among those in the area. It was remarkable to witness. And yes there were a few that caught my attention but I didn't take any home. I have owned my Mustang for 10 years now and wouldn't trade him for anything. By the way the big gelding you see the guy riding is a Mustang and was absolutely amazing to watch. He literally held the ones loose in the alley while the guys sorted without a rider and by a gentle touch from his human moved enough to let the other horse pass through. It's always fun to watch a great partnership.

    Sigh…. “If wishes were horses…”. I can’t find it now, but I saw a documentary of a Swede(?) who adopted 3-fillies & one colt from BLM, went through a very long and pricey-process of bringing them to Europe to start a herd.
    He did a great job of giving the Mustang-history, speaking to natural-selection, called our wild horses one of the best breeds nature could make. Nice to see these horses get global-recognition.

Brumbies are Intelligent & Nimble, with similar Dexterity to Quarter Horses. The opportunity to ride & interact with these Horses was a Privilege.

    I really liked that sorrel gelding in the first group of geldings. The one that only had a white sock on his hind foot. He seemed alot more calm than the rest of his group. And seemed alot more curious about his surrounding. More independent from the others in his group. Hope he got a good home.❤

    I think your personality might be a lot like mine. I spook easily too. I really don't like being around a lot of people but put me around 20 dogs or a barn full of horses and I'm in my happy place. I used to manage a kennel with 67 German Shepards and I used to train dressage horses. But I became legally blind in 2017. Between my blindness and PTSD I get the sneaking up thing. I love watching you (I still have 25% of my eyesight) you truly take the unwanted and give them love and heal their souls.

      Many of us feel the same way. Being among groups of people is a relatively recent

      of us worked with animals or in small groups.
